Bolingbrook Building Permits

I’m constantly getting permits from villages throughout Illinois and the Bolingbrook staff, in the building department, are very efficient. They know how to do their jobs and are always professional as well as helpful.

The new online permit application method works great and is easy and fast.

Contractor said inspector came at 9:20am and left 15mins later. Dropping off kid at daycare and back 5 mins after. Called town and the inspector told them he would not turn back. He had other job at other side of town. Waste he has to go to other side of town then come back. 5 mins he only waited b/c inspection at 9:30am. I was told another fee would be charged for reinspection. So average rating that could have been excellent if tiny bit of effort put forth. Update ... contractor had panel open and inspection took 10 seconds at max.

Not sure why the entirety of Illinois has a stick up their butt. You would think people who do customer service especially would try and be kind. I was on hold for 10 minutes just to get the time for an inspection. The lady on the phone could not have sounded more annoyed to talk to me. (Typical for Illinois).

This place is just unreal!!! It’s getting cold out and we have done everything they have asked for to get back in our house after they kept denying us back in. Now that we have everything they asked for 100 percent ready they want to say that they can’t come inspect the place until 2 weeks??!!!!! They don’t see the fact that we’re paying without living there and still have to pay hotels!!!

Staff is rude and it seems like you are bothering them when trying to get information or help. For all the taxes and fees the village charges they should be more helpful!
