Hibernia Park

Hibernia Park is my family’s favorite park in New Lenox. The Lake is well stocked with fish and you can even rent a boat for a few bucks! Play ground is very well-maintained, there’s sand volleyball pits, swing sets, covered picnic area, and a really great splash pad that my son just loves. They also serve food which I think is a plus.

Very nice little Park. Well kept, free of debris, lawn care beautifully up kept. Bring the kids, take the dog for a walk, or just take a walk around the lake.

The splash pad is simple but great for younger kids. The water is really cold which means kids will enjoy it more than parents and hotter days are better. The pond is great for fishing and has a couple of docks to use. There are two portable toilets available. There also were a few paddle boats for rent. Lastly, the park there looked fun... and there's a sand volleyball court.

1/2 mile walking path around the lake. Playground for kids. Splash pad. Fishing. Paddle boat rentals. Concessions. Pavilion rental. Great fun!

Awesome park and lake to walk around with a paved pathway. My grandkids love to come play in the park, watch the ducks, fish, and crane in the lake. No motor boats, and no swimming are allowed, but your dog can jump off the pier and swim to catch her ball. An overall very nice place to play, exercise, or just relax.

Nice little quiet pond and playground to bring the kids to. The fishing dock is small, and there are houses circling the pond, so you will likely be fishing from the hill. The grass is well maintained, as are the rest of the grounds.

This is a great local park! There are swings, 3 slides and various other jungle gym type things for the kids.

The splash pad is here as well, though I havent been there yet.

Important to note that there is a pond right here as well. I've chased my toddler many a time. But you can rent boats and take them out on the pond, which is pretty awesome.

All in all, this is a nice hidden gem in Shannon Estates (formerly Hibernia Estates, hence the name).

Walked here with family on a sunny, but chilly November afternoon. We took a trail that led down to a gorgeous creek, running high due to ongoing heavy rains. The park has some historic Pennsylvania buildings and the remnants of old lumber businesses. A beautiful, not-too-challenging walk - and we didn't even get to the lake, which looks great.

It's a beautiful little area.
