The Blacksmith

The Blacksmith's Steakhouse is a hidden gem on the square in Washington. Reservations are recommended as there was a 45+ minute wait when we arrived at 7PM on a Friday evening.

Our meal consisted of the bruschetta for an appetizer, salads with the house creamy garlic dressing, petite filet mignon w/ a loaded baked potato and grilled chicken breast with a balsamic glaze and garlic smashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious and the bill with a cocktail was just a bit over $60 before tip.

Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food were all top notch and we'll be back for another visit in the near future.

My husband brought me here for our anniversary and the meal was fantastic! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the taste of the food! We will be returning.

The service was amazing. The cocktails we're top notch and the food is absolutely delicious. I recommend the Salmon Oscar ( it was a special so it is not always available). My husband had whiskey flat iron steak and he loved it. We can't wait to go again.

This was an awesome experience! The dinner restaurant is downstairs in a lovely brick space. The service was excellent and prompt. The pork chop was delicious as was the soft see food dish my fiancee ordered. We took some bread pudding home for dessert later which was also delicious.

Great food. I had New York steak cooked medium rare and cooked perfectly. Garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus very flavorful. Calamari as appetizer with sweet and sour sauce was excellent. Recommend reservations. Especially if eating around 7:00 or you could have a wait.

I'm a finicky steak lover and this place delivers. Unique menu items and a great atmosphere. Cudos to the chef and all the very pleasant staff. We will return on my next trip.

We have visited numerous times. We always receive excellent service. The food is delicious and outstandingly prepared. The Sunday Brunch is my favorite. We try to invite friends to go along each time. Staff is friendly too. Prices are comparable to other steakhouses. So it is perfect for a nice date nite or a special occasion.

Ate here for the first time tonight. Our party had filets and salmon Oscar. It was so good. Cooked perfectly. Our cocktails and bruschetta were wonderful as well. Great cozy atmosphere and great service. For a party of 4, the bill was reasonable. We will be back.

Great atmosphere, great service and truly like the great variety of food from steaks, to seafood, to salads and sandwiches. We have tried several items on the menu multiple times, hardest part is deciding which was our favorite. Great hand crafted cocktails and wine as well, stop in you won’t be disappointed!

Julia made a wonderful drink and my soup and salad was spot on! The owner visited me to be sure I had a good experience. I will be back thanks to the atmosphere, the food, the knowledge that the owner is customer oriented and the service Julia provided.
UPDATE: I went back for dinner and sat at the bar again. This time Christina served me. She nailed the drinks and even though she was VERY busy, maintained a level of service that matched the ambience that the owner has created here at Blacksmith. Come support this great find in small town USA.

Awesome place, great food, atmosphere and service. I've been there several times in the past 3 or so years and have had a great experience each time. Highly recommend this establishment!

Wonderful experience. Decided to finally get over to try the new location at the square. The ambience tripled from their last location. Love the exposed brick, black tables, nice booth, nice floor. We needed a reso to get in. We got a nice booth and was greeted right away. The food was amazing. Don’t let this restaurant pass you by just because it’s in Washington. It will make you feel like you are in the heights or somewhere really nice. I’m so glad washington finally has fine dining and close too! Love the basement theme and it’s been done so well! Our food was amazing and our bill for 4 drinks, two steaks, two salads was very reasonable. Yes I highly recommend and we will be back soon! Again, if you are looking for a nice date night, this is it.

Love The Blacksmith! Service and food are both excellent. The specials are always good, and they are most accommodating for my gluten free requirement. My husband loves the scallops. It has become our "go to" place to eat. Great addition to Washington dining!

Food and service was extremely good . I ordered New York Strip and wife had the Prime rib . Both were cooked to perfection 🖒 I always use A 1 on my steak until tonight I had them Carmel some onions and wow . Better then any other high end steak restaurant. Both meals 3 martini and reg drinks $80. Paid more first less at other places. We will go back often 😆

The Blacksmith is an amazing restaurant! The staff is exceptional. This includes everyone from the host and the waitresses to the kitchen staff! The environment is family oriented when its needed and then it adapts to a couple's night out. The food is amazing!! Sunday morning the breakfast is just like home cooked and the dinners are PHENOMENAL!! The Blacksmith is a one of a kind with an amazing all around experience restaurant!

Great atmosphere for any occasion, date night, work meeting or family meal. You can enjoy their great food (recommmed the steak salad and cheese fries) with your friends and family and not have to yell over background noise to have a conversation. Customer service is always spot on as well. Keep it up!

Our steaks were cooked perfectly, flavored with the best balance of seasoning, and served with a smile. Service was prompt and followed up quickly as well. What a nice atmosphere! Really wishing we’d ordered a bottle of wine so we could try the aerator; it appeared to be a special apparatus for dispensing it. We’ll be back!!!

I lived close to the Blacksmiths Steakhouse before they moved to the other location and I always wanted to try it but never got the chance to. The first time I came here was after my grandfather’s funeral service. The bar was open as the food was good. We ordered White Russians and they were amazing! The bartender’s name was Chelsea and she was probably one of the best bartenders ever (she’s the best bartender I’ve ever seen). Anyways my mother and I wanted to find something relatively close to home, (which the new Blacksmith’s location is still only a few miles further than the old location but we completely forgot about it) anyways, we went to Rock’s in the Paradice and walked out after the rude server was trying to rush us on our drink order! The hostess was also very rude and acted as if she didn’t want to be there at all, as did the bartender. Anyway, we remembered the amazing drinks at the Blacksmith’s so we decided to drive back and go there. Luckily, it was a bit later in the evening so we were able to get right in. We both got a burger, which was pretty reasonable and of course a drink because Chelsea was the bartender again. The drinks were just as amazing as the first time! Our server was also really nice and funny. He kept up with the water refills and I didn’t even have to ask once! At some restaurants I’ve been to, the servers aren’t good about refills, especially if it’s water (I’m guessing because it’s free and maybe they think you are cheap, who knows). Anyways his name was William and he was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. The burger was amazing! I got mine cooked rare and it was perfect. The salad that came with it was also amazing. The croutons were very good and I don’t normally like croutons. They put a lot of time into decorating the place too. It looks very nice on the inside and the atmosphere is great. I will definitely be returning in the future!

Food is amazing; cozy atmosphere. When I crave a “real” burger... I come here. Service is top notch! lucky to have Blacksmith in our little town... rivals big city restaurant and only 2 min from home!

Everything was delicious! Service was fast and friendly. We started with calimari. The "Surf N Turf" special was a petite filet mignon (medium for me) covered with a Rosemary and feta glace, two scallops and I chose a baked potato and green beans for sides. My wife had prawns, a salad and mashed potatoes. With a few drinks and a 20% tip, we spent approximately $100. We'll be back again soon!
