La Rocca

My husband and I heard about this restaurant from a friend and absolutely loved it! I'm not sure why it took us so long to try it but glad we finally came here. I made reservations prior to coming and when we arrived we were seated right away. The resturant was smaller that I imagined but had a nice cozy feel and warm vibe. Our server, Carlos was excellent. He was very well versed with the menu and helped us choose our entrees and desserts. Our food came out within 20 minutes and our order was perfect. We enjoyed the complimentary bread and olives along with the antipasta misto. The lasagna was hands down the best I've ever tasted. My husband loved the Tagliolini ai Crostacei di Mare. For dessert, we had the chocolate mouse and pistachio molten cake. Wow! The pistachio molten cake was everything. You can taste how much love is put into making all of the food. Everything tasted fresh and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful time here. Bella, our server, was excellent and we never felt rushed despite the time limit we were given when we made the reservation. Our dishes were excellent: my skirt steak special was cooked to perfection and loved the romesco sauce. My husband’s ribeye was juicy and tender (I took a taste to compare). We are looking forward to our next meal here!

Why did it take us so long to find this gem! Amazing everything! We had Fazzoletti with sage & butter sauce, South African lobster tail with veggies and mashed potatoes and pasta with seafood. And the dessert was when I thought to take a pic lol. Carlos was the best! All service staff were excellent! Will absolutely be back 😋🤗

Went here last night for the first time. Food service atmosphere all outstanding. We will definitely be back. Our server Carlos was super friendly and attentive. Nice job guys ❤

Simply a wonderful and absolutely delicious restaurant. The owners and entire staff are lovely. I really dislike when I go out and spend money on mediocre food... at La Rocca, I say "take my money." The handmade pasta and flavors in all the dishes are so good. Definitely recommend the lasagna (seriously the best I've ever had, but not so cheesy so if that is your vibe then maybe it won't be your favorite, but you'll still think its fantastic) and the LAMB CHOMPS!! Dessert was perfect :)

Every item on this menu is delicious. I could go here every day if i could. I love to give reviews when the food is wonderful and this places food is beyond wonderful it’s magnificent. Montclair has many great places but this place is a wonderfully tucked away corner of pure love and Italian soul food. Don’t mind the chopsticks my mom brings her own every where we go.

Our favorite Italian restaurant, period. La Rocca is a culinary gem. The service here is top-notch, making every visit memorable. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience. But the real star of La Rocca is the food - it’s simply better than anything else out there. From the first bite to the last, each dish is a revelation of flavors. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great Italian cuisine

Staff was extremely accommodating. Waitress was amazing. Food was delicious. 3 of us ate for $167. We had appetizers, main courses (seafood) and shared an outrageous Italian cheesecake. Fresh, not over sauced or salted.
If I lived in or near Montclair, I could see this being our go to.

Every time I eat at La Rocca I am always impressed with my meal. Everything is so delicious!

A bit loud but what an amazing meal. Actually the best salmon I have ever had, we were very surprised at the large portion size for such a fine dining experience. I cannot wait to go back

Excellent food quality! I highly recommend the risotto dishes they have. It’s byob, which is great and it’s a short distance from the liquor store in case you didn’t bring anything with you. Staff is superb and top-notch!

Delicious food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. We mostly had specials, everything was terrific. We shared the Calamari Friti, the Cavatelli Veal Ragu and the Torta Della Nonna. My friend had the Polipo Ala Griglia and Pollo Limon and the duck special. We were all very pleased.

Always fresh and delicious! Italian classics as well as some more imaginative dishes. One of our top picks when family/friends are in town and we want to show them the best of Montclair. This little place cooks bakes and serves authentic Italian food! So delicious and fresh, we can’t wait to come back. The wait staff was excellent. 5 stars!

This is the best Italian restaurant in Montclair, hands down. You can taste the ingredients' freshness and the chef's expertise in every bite. Depending on your waiter, the service is typically fair to very good, but what really stands out is the food. The tomato foccia and Tagliatelle Bolognese are my favorites. I highly recommend a reservation as they are a smaller, very popular spot.
