Small place but with big food! Service was good. Very quick but the food was delicious and the portions were huge. I had the lobster roll with fries and slaw. Was not expecting how much lobster they gave me. The fries were really good. My husband had the shepherd’s pie and a side of onion rings. He said it was really good as well. Definitely recommend.

Simple in appearance, you definitely don't want to miss this place. Went on a cold January evening and ordered to lobster stew with a grilled cheese sandwich. Best decision every so rich and buttery not anything I was expecting monster chucks of claw meat warm and buttery without being over done. Cost for the amount of meal was honestly right if possibly even below what they could easily charge. We'll be back over and over again.
Thank you Eagles Nest for a wonderful meal

This was suggested by the ca rental people at the Bangor airport. We had been traveling all day and were starved. I had the haddock, which was delicious. There was plenty of fish. The coleslaw was really good. My wife had the shrimp dinner, which was a huge pile of shrimp that was delicious. Our aunt had the chowder and grilled cheese. She said it was great. Employees were friendly. Restaurant has a huge to go business.

My colleague introduced me to this small restaurant in Maine. She assured me, and I concur, that the lobster rolls here are amazing! The lobster was fresh and delicious. Not chewy. The cole slaw was refreshing and very flavorful. The fries were crispy and delicious. No accompaniment needed! I had to eat some of the lobster in order to get to the bun. This is a must stop if you are ever in Brewster, ME.

Wow, this place is amazing!!!! We got the big Platter for $46.99 and 3 of us ate VERY WELL plus leftovers! It was quick, fresh tasting and service was friendly. We decided to try the grapenut custard and it was a nice sweet way to end our meal. A MUST GO!

If you want a traditional Maine Lobster Roll stacked sky high with tastiness on toasted bread that adds just the right about it crunch and butter, the this is your place. And lobster grilled cheese, come on, that’s just deliciousness. Amazing food, atmosphere that you’ll love if you’ve worked a hard day or two, and the view is just as good.

This place is so small and unassuming, we literally drove past it even while using nav. BUT it lives up to the hype. My husband and I had lobster rolls with French fries and coleslaw. I have NEVER had a lobster roll so huge. You cannot pick it up and eat with your hands. It's definitely an eat with a fork meal. We were there at 3:30 in the afternoon so it wasn't crowded. We had our food within 10 minutes of sitting down. Besides the monster roll, we each got a huge pile of fries which were steaming hot and everything a French fry should be. Some of the best fries I've had in years. Neither one of us could finish our meals. We probably could have ordered 1 between us. This is the first time in my life I couldn't finish a lobster roll!

Great place, Great Food. Very small place some locals told us about. We never would have thought to try it if we hadn't been told about it. HUGE portions. I ordered the Seafood Platter and my wife ordered the lobster roll. The seafood platter easily could have fed 3 people and was some of the freshest seafood I have ever had. My wife said her lobster roll was amazing too. If you love seafood and are in the area, you need to stop in. If there's a line, WAIT for a seat. You'll be glad you did!

EAGLE'S NEST is, hands-down, my new favorite restaurant. Its a small building on the edge of the river packing a huge punch of delicious. The quantity of food matches the quality the cook puts on the plate. Staff members are great! The most impressive fried haddock, shrimp, clams, and scallops I have had in many years.

Received 3 separate, unprovoked recommendations to head Eagles Nest for the best Lobstah Roll around... and it did not disappoint! Definitely a slightly out of the way, classic Maine place. Felt like our group was intruding on a local secret. Will definitely return next time I'm up in Bangor!

I was growing up down the road on North Maine Street in the 90s and my mother would always stop here before school to get breakfast and coffee. I had fond memories of this place. I was a creature of habit, and always ordered the same thing, two eggs over easy with a double order of toast. They made the best toast at this place and I loved making little egg sandwiches. 10/10 for customer service and putting up with my double order of toast! Moms since passed but I'll never forget all the great breakfasts we had together! Great local business that should be supported!

What a little gem hidden away on the edge of the Penobscot River.
It was my first time eating lobster roll and it did not disappoint. Fresh and juicy.... simply delicious.

While visiting Maine we stopped at this restaurant for dinner. I'm not a big seafood fan, but I had to try these lobster rolls everyone had been talking about. This restaurant is very small, but extremely busy. We tried the lobster roll and it was amazing. They claim to have the best. After trying to other locations, they live up to their reputation. They do have the best lobster rolls! Can't wait to go back just for these rolls!!

little lobster shack on the side of the road, overlooking the water. Lobster roll came out quick, and it was very large!! Worth every penny, loved the coleslaw as well (on the creamier side, but was not my partners preference).

There are only a few tables but the service was quick, there is also a take out window from the outside.

Recommended by my niece for their lobster rolls and they did NOT disappoint. Packed full of claw meat. For those that are not seafood lovers their pastrami and their grilled cheese are delicious. Let's talk dessert!!! Save room or eat it first. Don't leave without it.

TLDR: A local hidden gem, fantastic seafood, always busy, and the original, no-frills homestyle version of Pepper’s Landing. It should be noted that Maine does bland food well. That doesn’t mean that the food is bad. We Maniacs aren’t exactly the gourmet types.

The Eagle’s Nest is a cozy, family-owned seafood joint located approximately 23.5 feet away from the Route 9 fog line. If it weren’t for the mass collection of vehicles along the side of the road at most times, you might miss it and mistake it for a house. The dining room has 8 tables, and the walls are almost close enough to touch at the same time. Local spots like this are few and far between, and you need a local to point it out to you. That’s how you know it’s worth a little extra drive. The staff often have a classic diner “vibe,” where they’re helpful, but they aren’t running around with fake customer service smiles.

I’ve never eaten at the Old Town competitor (Pepper’s Landing), but I’ve heard stories, read reviews, and compared menus. It would be unfair of me to attempt a true comparison. However, if you’re after a no-frills, homestyle, and casual dining experience in the pursuit of good local seafood, the Nest is the place to go. Apples to apples, most dinners/meals/platters on the menus are the same thing, but Eagle’s Nest is slightly less expensive, even for a seafood platter. I’m uncertain on the upscale competitor, but the food at EN comes out in under ten minutes piping hot from the fryer.

We often visit for the fried seafood platter, which has haddock, clams, scallops, shrimp, the BEST french fries in the area, and multiple sides. While they offer more than just seafood, this isn’t the place to get creative and get special burgers or veal cutlets with high hopes. They have the basics, and they do them extremely well, so stick to those. The all-you-can-eat fried haddock is a bargain, and you can’t go wrong with a homemade slice of cake or pie on the way out. Kids will enjoy chicken fingers and fries. If you're a flatlander, definitely try a lobster roll.

From getting the platter more than a dozen times within the last few years, we’ve found that it can vary from time to time. The scallops can vary in size, depending on the time of year, sometimes you get extra shrimp compared to clams, and the number of fries can vary, but it’s all generally the same. They don’t weigh every portion out back. The fries are usually served on the bottom of the giant pile of fried goodies, so quickly sort and dish things out to keep the fries uncovered and crispy. I can’t explain them, but they’re amazing. The fries have a super crispy outside, but they crush extremely easily with a very soft, fluffy center. I would compare them to original KFC fries, but better. The platter could easily feed 3-4 people, or 2 with leftovers. If the photo is able to be viewed, we were about 40-50% done with the platter at the time of the photo.

Overall, the Eagle’s Nest is the best seafood diner in the area. It’s not glamorous, it’s not upscale, but the food comes out hot and fast, you can’t leave empty, and you can’t go wrong if you want good, basic seafood. It’s simply worth it, and the view over the river is fantastic. We’ve never had a legitimate problem there. Thank you for consistently good meals and memories. Keep up the great work!

Best regards,
M.R.

We had an excellent lunch last week at The
Eagles Nest Restaurant. We were driving from
Bar Harbor to Moosehead Lake and saw a big group of cars parked next to an unassuming and cozy-looking restaurant, perched over the Penobscot River. The Trip Advisor reviews were all positive so we pulled in and were not disappointed. In fact, we had the best lobster rolls of the 4 places we dined at in New England. We loved the fish and chips too and the salad. The portions are big and filling! The seafood chowder was delicious and so were the French Fries and cole slaw.I had the BLT Lobster Roll and our daughter had a traditional LR with butter. Huge amount of lobster and just delicious! The staff is friendly and professional and locals and regulars come in constantly. Everyone I saw left happy, satisfied and exchanging pleasantries with the staff! It’s the best down home cooking experience we’ve had in a long time and we’d go back in a second if we had the chance! In fact, I’m committing to going back to Maine just so we can eat here again…….and see more Moose, light houses, shop at LL Bean, and hike more in Acadia National Park. Thank you Eagles Nest for a wonderful meal and enjoyable lunch experience! The Clark’s of South Florida.

Holy smokes! I don't know how else to explain this but every other Lobster Roll I ever have will live in the shadow of this place. Thank you so much for introducing me to my first real Lobster Roll and being such gracious and generous hosts. Can't forget to mention the view outside the window. It's breathtaking!
