Bongo's & Bud's Music Center

Owner was very personable and replaced my guitar strings after I broke one (he suggested replacing them all since they hadn't been touched in years). Swift service, friendly conversation, low pressure situation. We bought a ukelele for my toddler daughter's upcoming birthday on the way out and I'm excited for her to "play" it. This shop has been here since 1955 and I hope it stays here on Mainstreet forever.

Sweet little music store with a nice owner good selection for Guitars and as a bass player Im in aw of their selection of vintage basses.

Great music store. Good value instruments with high level of playability in stock. I bought guitar strings and harmonicas, but there is a wide selection of a large variety of different types of items.

Fantastic locally owned music store. The lesson teachers are outstanding. The store itself is jam packed with lots of interesting instruments. I could wander around in there all day.

So great! He had the broomsticks and moon gels I needed without having to order them in or anything. And very friendly, showed me options of similar products. He even showed me how to clean moon gels off so I can make them last longer, which was not to his advantage.

Dude had his maestro fix 2 electric guitars then bought the Gibson for a reasonable price.

So I tells this fella, I tells him I'm gonna do THIS.

The new owner has really done an excellent job in stocking new and used musical instruments. The place has a nice relaxed feel. The new owner is a musician and I think this will really help musicians that are looking for that extra expertise.

I was very impressed with the place. The owner Mr. Haga is extremely knowledgeable. It was fun to just chat with him about music in Minneapolis. He also had some very unique guitars.

Bongo's and Bud's is a great community music store for the artists and musicians here in Hopkins MN. Along with a good variety of specialty instruments and band equipment the store also offers a large selection of instrument cording and connection wiring for your recording studio and live music environment needs. There is a instrument care station and knowledgible handy man whose skills revolve around the keeping and repair of a good bit your school music program and rock band queries. Things like strings, picks and straps for guitars and reeds, embrasures and bridges for your school music programs are all under the counter and on the walls for easy spotting and remembering your artists' errands when you must. The staff is well versed in the setup and requirements necessary for a happy performing and the artist experience. Hopkins is proud of this little spot on Main Street and if you need to or it is just calling you out for your curiosity give it a visit and I hope you will be pleasantly surprised. Considering the friendly and easy going service along with the instrument choices and repair possibilities I bet you will really enjoy your first or next visit to Bongos & Bud's music. Community music shop. Changed hands a couple of years ago, but maintained it's integrity and excellence. I love browsing the selection of instruments, and coming here when I need an item at short notice.

A big fan of this store. A "hardware store for musicians". Great service and knowledge. For drummers-the owner is an accomplished drummer.
