Went back for round 2 1 month later to the day

10/10. Im blown away

Price is typcial upscale steakhouse, so understand if you're like me with a normal job and a normal life. Make this special occasion. For those that have an upgraded life you would kick yourself, not eating here all the time.

Romantic setting

Food is beyond good. Lobster bites and filet is to die for.

Parking is easy, so dont be nervous cause of area

This is an amazing place. Will cost you. But well worth it. Just look over the menu at home and be realistic. You will need to get the steaks. Sides are separate prices. So keep all that in mind

But i promise you that dispointment you get from overspending at a fancy resteraunt and not leaving feeling full not just in the belly but with overall experience will not happen here

You will love it and not care that you have to sell your first born to pay for it.

I had a lunch there. Nice enough👍🏻 Food was delicious. Lobster biscuit soup and shrimps are delicious. Service is good too.

The food is absolutely delicious! Our server, Jake, was phenomenal. We tried the Spicy Rib and wagyu dumpling appetizers, they were both tasty and well made, but the dumplings were the better of the two, especially with the honey based dipping sauce. Out of the cocktails we had, the blood orange mule was head and shoulders above the rest. Our steaks were juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection.

I really like Roots. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is great. I highly recommend Roots. I love their Cowboy Steak and Mac and Cheese. I also really enjoyed their Lobster Bisque soup.

Last night, my family and I visited the Roots Steakhouse, Ridgewood location to celebrate a special birthday occasion. We were greeted with impeccable service from our server, who catered to our needs flawlessly. The cuisine, as always, was simply delightful. While enjoying our meal, a small mishap occurred where a drink was accidentally spilled onto the floor, splashing onto my sports coat. The server promptly expressed sincere apologies and notified their supervisor. To our surprise, Larry, the general manager, personally approached our table to offer his sincere apologies and assistance. Despite my reassurances that accidents happen, Larry insisted on arranging for the dry cleaning of my coat and even offered to deliver it to my home. Although I declined his kind offer, Larry ensured that I could submit the dry cleaning bill for reimbursement. As we concluded our meal, we were pleasantly surprised when Larry sent over an assortment of complimentary desserts from the menu. His professionalism and genuine care during this incident were truly commendable. This review is not intended to critique the staff but to express heartfelt gratitude to Larry and his team for their exceptional handling of an unfortunate situation.

Obviously compared to some of the places in NYC, I've had better steak. However, none of those places had prices as reasonable or better service (imo). Waitstaff was excellent and the desserts were all absolutely stellar. If you're looking for a great place to eat without travelling far, this fits the bill.

Classic big city steakhouse feel in the suburbs. Fantastic bar- great cocktails. Your meal starts with a delicious, warm, herby popover. The lunch deals are fantastic, fun, and delicious. We enjoyed the tuna tartare, filet mignon sliders, mini lobster roll, French onion soup, and the warm butter cake for dessert.

I visited on a Saturday night. I made a reservation but noticed walk-ins were accepted with a short wait. I love the ambiance of this location. The staff was friendly and tentative. This place is great for date night *wink, wink*. The kitchen is artfully displayed depending on where you’re seated. The food is delicious; particularly the meat. I had the petite NY Strip Steak medium (featured in the pics). I will definitely be returning for more good food and memories.

Highly recommend excellent food and amazing staff. My wife and I had dinner at Roots for our wedding anniversary last week. What a great way to spend the night out. Nick was our server and thoroughly knew the menu and had excellent recommendations. The restaurant manger Larry stopped by to introduce himself as well. He was a gentleman and a class act. We had the NY strip and beef Wellington. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! Don’t pass up on the opportunity dine here! Would give them more stars if I could!

A BIG shout out to the general manager of Roots. We go there a few times a year. We love their food and atmosphere. We had a weird experience on a very business night and my husband complained because he was disappointed. The GM went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate us and ensure we are customers for life. That's the type of customer service all restaurants should have! We look forward to our next visit and highly recommend! They truly care about the customer's experience. Food is AMAZING.

Outstanding experience. Superb steak cooked perfectly. Salad was top shelf fresh and tasty.
The Mango sorbet was to die for, and the espresso was perfect. we were there to catch up after a long time away and the staff sensed it and but was still attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Everything about Roots was phenomenal. Food, atmosphere, service, shoutout to our server, Frankie! One of the best filet’s I’ve ever had, sides are great too. Just all around great.

Always delicious! We hadn’t been there in a while, but we’re very happy it was as good as always. Bar is perfect spot to wait for your table. Appetizers were amazing! Shrimp over bacon, NJ Burrata, & tuna tartare were perfection. Our ribeyes were cooked exactly as we asked and the whipped potatoes are a must. Great atmosphere!

I came here with high hopes as family and friends have told me it is great, and WOW Roots did not disappoint, as soon as you walk in you are transported into a truly breathtaking atmosphere, the staff are extremely well trained and are very educated on the whole menu and will answer any question you might have, once seated you are given the choice between tap and sparkling water, complimentary bread is then brought out, the bread is sweet and fluffy like French toast on the inside and crunchy on the outside, I then ordered the applewood smoked slab bacon for an appetizer, the prime cowboy steak for my main course and the roots sundae for my dessert and I was blown away by the whole experience! I definitely recommend going to Roots if you get the chance!

Roots is an elegant experience. When you enter, you’re greeted by friendly hosts, listening to crooners softly play in the background, and enjoying vintage artwork, bars and booths. & that great feeling sustains throughout the night as you talk with the incredibly personable waiters and servers, and enjoy one of their many red wines.

The best part of Roots is the steak. The tomahawk ribeye was one of the best I’ve ever had, and perfectly filling for two people! All the sides and appetizers were delicious, as well. But the one that stood out the most was the fried shrimp scampi!

I recently dined at Roots steakhouse and it exceeded my expectations. The service was exceptionally classy and professional, creating a delightful atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of high-quality steaks, expertly cooked to perfection. Complemented by a selection of fine wines and cocktails, the overall dining experience was truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this establishment for those seeking a refined and satisfying culinary experience.

1st off service was great!! They were little late on our reservation so when they brought us to the table there was 3 appetizers sitting on table ready for us on the house apologizing for the wait..very professional thing to do!! The food was all very good and nice clean and classy place!! Atmosphere wise I would prefer little bit more as in in maybe some music etc..

Exceptional dining experience at Roots Steakhouse! The porterhouse was incredibly delicious, paired perfectly with their famous wine. The romantic, slightly dark ambiance added a special touch. What truly stood out was the excellent service – our waiter was attentive, constantly checking in to ensure our glasses were filled and our meal was perfect. A memorable evening with top-notch food and service. Highly recommend!

All I can say is WOW! Our dinner at Roots was just superb. Food was delish. My wife had the scallops. I have the NY Strip. We shared the loaded potato and brussel sprouts (plenty of leftovers).

Service was terrific (thanks Erin), and out outdoor tile was perfect. Dessert was great (and big enough for leftovers. And since it was my birthday the Roots team added a nice touch (see photo).

I was at first skeptical because the price was so cheap !

After I had my dining experience, I dare anyone to find steak this good under $60, which is virtually impossible given that it is NJ/NY. The best steak I had in NJ ( had better in NYC though). Certainly one of the cheapest quality steak you can find.

Ambience is good. Service is excellent. Bar menu is good. Cocktails are well made

The only thing I had that was subpar was cream spinach. I would advise anyone to skip that on their visit
