This place literally has everything. Every time I'm in need of anything from specific bulbs for a project, to screws we are missing for furniture, they have it. A one stop shop and they couldn't be more kind or helpful.

Parking lot. Immediately helped upon walking in. I only needed my keys copied but I walked around and they seemed to have just about everything. Best hardware store in Montclair.

This place has everything, even obscure things you would never think such a small store could possibly carry. The staff is really helpful and competent as well.

Excellent neighborhood hardware store. I live closer to a similar one in Upper Montclair but often head to this one when I need some advice from the friendly and experienced staff. This one is better for that than the other neighborhood shop, for sure (more of a high school staff there). They also offer some basic services like screen door repair in their shop in the back. Not the largest selection but helpful spot to get the basics.

They got everything you need. Plus the most helpful group of people - love the friendly, family vibe!

Our garage flooded last week and luckily Craig was super helpful. He helped guide me to the a great wet vac and ensure we were able to get it same day. Really appreciated the excellent customer service!

Been coming here for years, they are very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They also replace watch batteries!! Came in with a nice dead battery citizen watch and they replaced the battery in 1 minute for a mere 8 dollars. Fantastic business with great employees.

Watchung Hardware is fantastic. Unlike almost any retail experience in a chain or big box store, the service there is fantastic — well staffed, friendly, and helpful. I needed three new bed slats made and they provided me with two boards of the right dimension, trimmed them to size and drilled holes in the exact right place. All for $12 in about 10 minutes. I’ve always had good experiences there. Can’t praise them highly enough.

I visited this store and was courteously helped in finding a chain to use with my bike lock.
When I went out of the store I was greeted by another worker named Matthew. I told him the seat height was too low and he then went out of his way to adjust the seat on my bicycle. For his raising the seat, I am extremely grateful. It made riding the bike much easier to pedal.
Matthew should get a raise for his generous act.

To me, this place is a model for what all businesses should be like. Expert. Courteous. And truly dedicated to its customers' needs.

Yes, you can save money by going to Home Depot and Lowes, if you want to make the trip. But will anyone there take a grinder to piece of hardware so it fits a difficult spot (free of charge), as these guys did for me one day? Or will a big box employee walk you up and down their aisles to gather all the supplies you require for a project, as these folks did on another occasion? Will they wave you off a more expensive product, when a cheaper one will do the job? Will they reopen the store after a long day, so that you can buy an emergency item? I don't think so.

Shop here. This store is the real deal. It's more than worth the minor mark-up.

This store fulfills most of my hardware needs and has a very friendly staff. As a gardener, I appreciate the size of their gardening section, and that they have seeds for sale during the springtime. This store is a nice local business with a surprisingly large inventory for its size.

The absolute best. The most helpful and nicest people work here. No matter how busy they are someone always has time to walk me through advice on my latest weekend project. As for inventory, it’s like they somehow magically fit everything from one of the big chain stores into this space because every single thing I’m looking for always seems to be available here.

This store is the best! They have everything you could possibly need and the service is great! There is always someone there ready to assist you and they are always very pleasant. You may pay a little more but well worth it. I have been shopping there for 50 years and always had great service!

Everyone who works at this store is super helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help you find what you need to solve your problem. They can replace screens and fix lamps too! Best hardware store ever!

The cleanest, most pleasant, organized hardware store I've ever seen. The owner super-friendly and competent. It may be cheaper to go to a Home Depot or a Lowe's, but the personal touch and seasoned advice is worth the little more $.

Today I had the best experience ever at a hardware store. As I was about to give up on replacing my father-in-law's doorbell button that was broken, Cliff overheard the problem and stepped up.

He figured out a way to restore the antique button by saving the nice bronze flange but popping out the old broken button mechanism. He shined up the old one and found a new button that would fit.

He went more than the extra mile. Incredible service.
