Yan's Chinese Buffet

Yan's is the quintessential small town Chinese buffet. The food is excellent and on par (if not better) with any of the more "pricey" Asian restaurants in this area (Albany+, we've tried many). Small, cozy atmosphere with a family staff that is friendly and welcoming (and always very busy!). The buffet is not huge (remember small family-run restaurant) but the food is crafted well and the selections available are more than satisfying. There is the typical "down-time" later in the afternoon (around 3PM) between lunch and dinner when the buffet may run a little low, but this is understandable as they are getting ready for their dinner menu and re-setting the buffet. A nice quiet spot to sit down with friends and family and enjoy conversation and a leisurely meal. They also have an excellent take-out buffet option for those on the go. I highly recommend Yan's. My kids love it and we get yummy food there almost every week!

Its delicious. Its fast and easy and you can have multiple plates and is all for the same amount all the time. And the best parts is it has soft served chocolate and vanilla ice cream machine sweet delicious watermelon . Even if the rooms outdated , they have something for someone.

I totally recommend this buffet if you have a hunger for Chinese food but don't have much time for lunch! Love how fast you can get in and out. Fast turnover of the food in buffet dishes, so food tastes and looks fresh.

I have had chinese all over albany,glenmont,schenectady,ravena and if you are looking for classic american chinese food you are not going to find it elsewhere, the buffet is small and cheap that is not what I am reviewing. Yan's is literally the only chinese place out of a dozen I have tried in the past year that will actually listen when you ask for your food to be cooked a certain way. You wouldn't think it is difficult to make general tso spicy like it is meant to be and not fried chicken swimming in sugar glaze but somehow Yan's is the only place to figure it out.

I will say if you are looking for american chinese that is overloaded with sugar and sauce this is not the place to go, but to me that is exactly why I like it.

Have been going there for years..not many ppl there but the buffet is ALWAYS fresh..if not they immediately start to cook fresh batches of all foods..i just showed up wirh 12 ppl and they accomdated us with no problem...its a hidden jewel...you have to go for yourself..and dont be afraid to ask...the price was also resonable for buffet...12.50 for meal and drink...fed 4 for 48.00 ..cant beat that..YAN"S is definetly a place to go..

Extremely cheap. Nice and quiet when compared to other buffet locations because of its small size. Small selection but decent quality.

I love this place it's so cheap and very good food and the people that work there or wonderful we watch Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune sometimes everybody talks to each other it's really nice.....cozy too...... They have an area where you can kind of sit away from everyone also

very reasonable for a family on a very tight budget did not have a whole lot to choose from but what they had to choose from was very very good and it's 799 and play what you can't beat that for a buffet so she's got a kid that can eat works well and staff was pleasant

It's very small but don't let that fool you. The food is great and fresh.
