Delicious bread, great service! They offer a variety of products and you can’t really go wrong with any of them. Slightly off the main Arthur Ave drag but it’s worth the detour and is right next to Joes Deli, another great spot.

This is a small bakery focused on breads and they have a ravioli section. Bread is amazing and fresh. My favorite is the olive focaccia . The rolls and bagels are great. I would love to come back for ravioli. If you want fresh homemade breads try this place out .

Moved away from NY many years ago. But today we returned to Arthur Ave and 187th, Bronx NY. Terranova you have awakened a childhood memory with your "LARD BREAD" that you call "CHICKLE"? I have not had lard bread that porky and delicious in 60 yrs! Now after returning home, I will make another trip to get as much of it as you have on hand. The other bread is also very good but the lard bread has to be hidden from me or else....

Everyone has a favorite place for bread in the neighborhood, for me it's Terranova, but please feel free to correct me, try all the bakeries in Little Italy, whatever your preferences are, you won't be disappointed

First time coming here and the bread is so good. Be careful if you use the too good to go app because you will come back with so much bread that you'll have to start drinking a serious amount of prune juice to deal with the constipation that ensues.

One of the icons of Arthur Avenue, I was literally raised on Terranova Bread. In a world of gluten fear mongers, I can attest to this bakery never compromising on their ingredients. ( If you are allergic to gluten, my heart goes out to you.) They use quality flour, and are constantly monitoring production to ensure each loaf of bread is perfect. The staples here are the pane di casa round bread (unsliced so it stays fresh!) , raisin walnut loaf, and raviolis. Shop small, and support these local bakers because they MAKE this neighborhood what it is.

Terranova bakery is a "must stop" for your 187th Street / Arthur Avenue tour! I've been going there for over 30 years and LOVE them. They have a variety of freshly made bread products, all of which will keep you coming back for years. The staff is warm and friendly, always greeting you with that calm smile no matter how crowded the store may be. They also have fresh frozen home made pasta products which are also unsurpassed. I LOVE their ravioli. The filling is rich and creamy (some tend to be more cottage cheese like consistency) and they are shaped round, which makes them easier to handle IMHO. Remember to buy some extra bread sticks for the ride home!

Best bread ever! Seriously, I definitely was not having real bread prior to finding Terranova! I’m glad this establishment has been around for so long, there’s a clear reason as to why.

Also, the suggestion to place the bread in the fridge is spot on! A quick toast on a pan with butter is divine. If you’re so inclined, I would even do the same but add avocado and chili crisps!

The absolute best bread in all of New York City. The flavor, amazing texture and freshness is amazing. I have eaten in ALL the best restaurants and shopped in all the green markets and best bakeries, nothing can touch Terranova's bread. It is addictive and goes with everything. A superb bread and bakery.

The absolute BEST bread in NYC. The pane compagna is so incredible...perfect slightly chewy texture, fantastic crust. Nothing can beat this bread. We have tried every bakery in NYC and this is a standout. You have not eaten bread this heavenly until you make the trip up here and get a sliced loaf baked that day. Other baked goods are excellent too.

They have the best bread you can find in the area... its always fresh and just the way you like it.. There are so many different types of breads to choose from you can not go wrong. I've been buying bread from terranova since 1959. I lived a block away and became good friends with Peter and Vera who came to my wedding and supplied the bread. I live in Orlando, Florida and im so happy that they can ship me the best bread in all of North America. Im placing a huge order ans cant wait to taste the goodness after 21 years.

I have been coming to this bakery for two years now, and its been outstanding. The quality of the bread is out of this world. One thing that I enjoy the most when I come here is the large variety of bread choices they have. From the Olive bread, Ciabatta, Raisin with walnuts, to the Chickle (Amazing black pepper bread with bits of Prosciutto). If you are more on the simple side, and like to stick to your plain flavors.. They have some satisfying breads to chose from, like the Pizza Bread which is a soft but crusty bread that is round with a hole in the middle, great for fun decorations, and tastes great. And of course their rated number one bread, according to the zagat survey ( I do my research!!) the ultimate best Pane Di Casa. Which is baked in their beautiful antique brick oven, which Ive seen on a few tours Ive gone on.

Customers Do Come First!. Every single time I walk into this bakery all the employees are very helpful, and friendly. I have never had any disappointments.

Till this day... The Terranova business is more delightful and creative than ever, now offering freshly baked bagels with cream cheese, with a nice cup of coffee. Five Stars!!!!!!!
