Al's Barber Shop is a warm, inviting traditional shop with a great staff and reasonable prices. You will always be greeted with a smile, treated with respect and leave with a great haircut.

When my long time barber recently retired at Al's Penfield Barber I started getting my haircut with Kathleen. She does a very good job cutting my hair. Everyone of Al's employees do a good job cutting hair.
I recommend Al's for anyone. It's easy to call and make a appointment and Al gets you in for your haircut in a reasonable amount of time.

I live out of town but come back home to see family frequently and always wait to get my haircuts here. Old school barber vibes

My fiance is a hair stylist and has been cutting mine for several years now. She was sick though and I decided to stop in and get my haircut at Al's since it was close to home. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't just sit and wait for a haircut like a traditional barbershop, but this is the time of covid and people need to accept that. I came back 30 minutes later and got my hair cut by Kathleen and I have to say it's easily one of the best haircuts I have ever had in my entire life. Even my fiance remarked at how clean and accurate the work was. Men want two things froma barber: Quality and efficeny. Both of these things I received very readily. Clean, quick and I will most certainly be going back for a haircut if need be. Can't recommend this place or Kathleen's work enough. Go and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I was flipping a house in Penfield and found myself going out for lunch. While I was there I thought about a haircut that I could really use and I asked the people where I was eating if they know a good place. They suggested Al's Penfield barber shop.
Now when I got there they had signs that said, by appointment only and I was just looking for a taper and a little tightening up on the sides. But even without the appointment one of the guys were free and said he could cut my hair.
I say this all to say that I had a great experience at Al's and even though I didn't take their card because I live in the city of Rochester, I think I might just go back.

My husband needed to find a new barber when his barber of 40 years retired.

They are great with kids. Joked with my son and really made him feel like a BIG guy! It was wonderful. The price is comparable with other barbershops, decent hours, and his hair looked great!

great place if you happen to score Carlos or Al, but if you get the lady that works there.........good luck. went in and asked for a little off of the top and a clean fade, before i even knew what was going on, she decided to cut my hair like her life depended on it, super friendly lady. But she should not be cutting hair.

Received a fantastic haircut from Robin today. She is awesome. Was disappointed with my last 2 haircuts at another barber close to work. Decided to return to Al’s. Never going anywhere else.

Good old fashioned barber shop. Does it like its supposed to be done. The personal touch with that neighborhood barber shop feel. If you need a haircut this is the place to go not one of those franchises that most of the profit goes to an unseen person that couldn't care less if you are satisfied with the service.

I moved to East Rochester about a year ago and ive had the same barber my whole life no i was nervous going to another one. But let me tell you that Carlos at als barber shop is the real deal. Everytime I go in I come out looking like a boss. Highly recommend everyone go see Carlos. Great guy who gives nothing but great hair cuts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Amazing atmosphere! The barber was able to carry on a conversation with me the entire time. My haircut was amazing and the barber wasn't satisfied unless I was.
