A nice spot for tea and/or a meal in the Manor House at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Seating available indoors and out. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Some standard and reasonably-priced food options, great assortment of tea and baked goods; slices of crumb and Kahlua cakes were both delicious!

A lovely spot for lunch, brunch, or tea at the Bayard Cutting arboretum. There is seating inside and out (I sat outside with a beautiful view of the lawn and the river). The curry chicken salad sandwich was very good, the service was terrific, and the view could not be beat

Food was good. Service was great. Friendly staff. Dessert was very good with plenty of options to choose from. It does get very crowded & loud so don't expect a reserved & peaceful dining ambiance. It's beautiful all the same with gorgeous views of the estate property. We had a lovely day!

It was a pleasant surprise to discover the Hidden Oak Cafe by accident when we went the Bayard Aboretum for a visit. The food was inexpensive, good and the setting was beautiful. They also offer Victorian tea by reservation.

A wonderful little cafe with gorgeous views and a good selection of food. I've only been to the arboretum, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I tried the cafe. Baked goods, sandwiches, soups, salad, teas and coffees. The salad was delicious and fresh, the soup was also very good. I got a large portion, the price was fair. I would definitely return to this establishment. Beautiful scenery!!

Breath-taking views, friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. This Cafe is a must when visiting the arboretum! Can't stop talking about it until now. The food and tea was very natural tasting with natural ingredients and they cater to diet types.

For many years I have been visiting The Bayard Cutting Arboretum.
I highly recommend having lunch or just a coffee in The Hidden Oak Café after walking through the beautiful arboretum.
The Butternut squash with apple soup and Grilled cheese is my favorite for lunch. Always friendly service. Thank you!
They also serve a “Victorian Tea".

Great rustic cafe with beautiful scenery! In the middle of the arboretum so the surrounding landscape is well kept and impressive. Perfect on a hot day, we got a couple of salads and some lemonades and they really hit the spot. Highly recommend to stop for lunch if you're visiting the arboretum! Also, they have a 20% military discount which is much appreciated.

Such a cute tearoom! The food is simple but tastes great. The tea service is fantastic! The tea selection is pretty good as it has a lot of variety.

The Hidden Oak Cafe is a gem of a place nestled in the Bayard Cutting mansion at the Arboretum of the same name. We enjoyed the curry chicken sandwich and the roasted red pepper wrap. They were both fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was attentive and personable. As a tea drinker I love the expansive assortment of teas offered. My husband prefers coffee; it was a rich flavorful blend. And then there are the desserts! We highly recommend making time to visit, sit on either the outdoor veranda or in the historic dining room and stroll through the gardens.

I made a reservation for tea for 4 people to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. Unfortunately, I had to cancel as my mom spent the night before in the ER and was not up for dining out. I called to ask if I could arrange to have our “tea” taken out so we could celebrate at her apt. The staff could not have been more kind, concerned and accommodating. Each box was clearly labeled and well packed - scones, cream and jam, sandwiches, and pastries. Even teabags were included as well as a kind note wishing my mom a happy birthday and to feel better! And of course, everything was delicious! I own a bakery and therefore had to try a piece of each dessert. First rate! I recommend this little gem highly! Thank you for helping my family salvage a birthday celebration!

A jewel of the South Shore! Located on the most lovely Bayard Cutting Arboretum, this wonderful respit provided a diverse and very enjoyable light dining experience...from an afternoon coffee (or herbal tea) to a fresh soup, garden salad or interesting sandwich alternative. The view on the porch is perfect, the fresh air and general feeling of “relaxing” can’t be beat! This is a MUST stop at locale!

So overall I would say definitely go here for a high tea. That said, there are improvements too be made. U have to make reservations in advance, which we did. But when u get there and there's a line for the cafe, there's no sign or information for what to do if u have tea reservations. The super nice lady at the desk helped us bec we were confused. The servers are extremely busy and not attentive, they must be under staffed. There is one server for all the tea guests I think, and she was running around and spent 7 seconds or less at our table during every interaction. The tea is delicious. We all preferred different varieties, and basically they're all good. The environment is beautiful, and the sun is amazing. I believe there's no air conditioning, but we were lucky bec it wasn't hot that day. The food at the tea is good, I think the scones are perfect and the sweets are good. The sandwiches were just straight up not enough; there should be twice as many sandwich/savory at the tea. There were 4 of us, and I could tell ppl were holding back, and/or eating lemon bars just to fill up bec there wasn't enough food. It is leisurely and nice and a good experience. The egg sandwich is so good w the sprouts.

Always friendly, great place for casual dining or to have high tea. The pistachio cake is to die for...I was a bit uncertain at first but I know why it's the best seller now. I just wish they were open on Mondays.

Love eating out on their beautiful back porch with a gorgeous river view. Feel like I am at Downton Abbey. Love tea with real teacups! Arberatem had scarecrow dressed liked the 1920s.

What a happy surprise to find this intimate cafe inside the Arboretum. You can stop in for a quick snack or something a bit more substantial or just step up to the counter and pick up a bottle of water.
It's pretty, well appointment, bright, and cheary. Prices are not crazy.

Have lunch in a historical mansion. The views of the Arboretum surroundings are exquisite. The food is excellent with veggie and vegan friendly choices. The quiche of the day is popular.

Coffee, Tea and cookies snacks are also available.

Good wholesome food, delicious desserts and a relaxed atmosphere. If the weather's nice, dining on the porch overlooking the river is icing on the cake!
