Inquiring Mind Bookstore & Cafe

One of the best bookstores on the East Coast. Great care is taken to curate and mind blowing in diversity of titles and sections. Nice cafe to boot. Has the feel of a small college used bookstore with wider selection.

I loved the book store and traveled from New York City to partake in the Poetry which Laura Ludwig has hosted for many years. It was a pleasure to feature there with other fine poets. This quaint and interesting bookstore is a gem. I look forward to visiting again, perhaps for National Poetry month. It is always such fun and not too far from the city.

Wonderful bookstore and coffee shop with an excellent selection and wide variety. Great music selection too. This is really more than a bookstore, it is a gather space for locals and visitors of all ages and walks of life. The store has many comfy corners for reading, playing (great kids’ corner!), chatting, and enjoying their yummy cafe drinks. The staff is knowledgeable and ready with a recommendation, and if they don’t the book you’re looking for they are happy to order.

I recently visited Inquiring Mind Bookstore & Cafe and had a great time. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making the experience enjoyable. The eclectic decor added character to the place, creating a relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice spot to browse books and grab a coffee. Looking forward to my next visit.

I love bookstores! Inquiring Mind is a great example of what I like. Lots of room. Lots of seating. Solid tables. A great selection of books. Fresh coffee. great pastries. Friendly staff that makes you instantly feel at home. Clean cafe area and clean throughout the store. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced. A perfect place to take a break from your adventure.

One of the best bookstores I've ever been to. I appreciate their vast selection, but also the fact that they are not afraid to indulge in their tastes and make it their own. Particularly dig the music, spirituality, and art sections.

great choice of books and even music records. they have a cute sitting area just for young children decorated with stuffed animals here and there. plus I should add that they make a point to display very progressive books and novels pertaining to gender, politics, equality and race. awesome definitely recommend to visit if your passing by

No glitz or glam—a real bookstore with a world of interesting material to browse through. Walking through the Inquiring Mind—whether during the weekend bustle or an idle weekday—always satisfies a deep comfort for me, often lost in life's continuous happenings, through the immersion of its well-sorted, but nonetheless hodgepodge (in the best way!), selection of arcana. Thank you to the staff for the space's curation and expansive upkeep and thank you to the owner for the inspiration to create such a wonderful and communal space. Enjoy a coffee—or whichever drink you like—at the well-managed cafe during your visit! I recommend a simple little latte!

Wonderful little bookstore. Plenty of places to sit and read, friendly staff, and a little cafe with coffee and other small bites! Also love the wall of doggy visitors!

This place is wonderful! Everyone is very friendly and knew exactly where the stuff I wanted was. Also, very clean and well curated inventory. Service at the coffee shop was top tier. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in the are.

Adorable, well maintained whimsical book shop on a side street in New Paltz. Lots of book organization by genre, creative displays. Mix of new and gently used. Great section of Signed copies of books, I was able to get Tribe signed by Sebastian Junger. Well informed, friendly booksellers. Feel free to browse as long as you like. Lots of Cox’s reading nooks

Wow, what a lovely gem of a bookstore (and I’m a big bookstore nerd and fan)! Fabulous and big kids section, fiction, local… so glad to be able to enjoy an hour here on my family’s visit from down South. Will definitely return to if we come back around this way.

The bookstore was fantastic. There are a lot of very intellectually stimulating novels in there. They had books in different languages as well, which I rarely see in any book-stores. They offer smoothies, cappuccinos, cold drinks, teas, and more at checkout. The staff is friendly and helping. You won't be disappointed.

This place has such an amazing collection of books and music. I make the trek up to Saugerties, NY as often as I can just to browse the wonderful selections and have a latte!
