So glad I found Renaissance Curls! Went for a consult and then went back for a cut and wash and go. What a beautiful experience. The Salon is well run and the staff is wonderful. Sade is my amazing Stylist. I loved the cut and the wash and go and can't wait to go back. My life is much improved now that I have a great salon to go to. Thank you Renaissance Curls and Sade!

One of the greatest experiences I've had at a salon! The most kind and professional people work here. I was instantly welcomed and felt so at home. Like many, I've been looking for a salon in Harlem that specializes in black hair but keep unfortunately having less than good experiences. This location exceeded all expectations. The stylists went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and assist with any of my questions and even recommended some amazing products! They were all knowledgeable and made me feel at ease.
I believe their prices to be fair, and the process of booking a service was seamless. If you are even questioning giving them a try, don't hesitate! They will get you right, leaving fresh and satisfied. This may be my new favorite salon in Harlem.

An incredible salon with a clean, calming atmosphere, professional and kind stylists, and immaculate service. My curls have never looked this good. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the salon and have every intention of returning.

I've been here before and the service is excellent! This time, I got my son's hair washed, trimmed, and twisted for the summer. They were patient, gentle, and completed his hair in less time than expected. The appointment went so well that my Mom scheduled a time for herself next month. I had a wash & go plus trim done today by Laura, and was totally blown away. My hair has seriously never looked this good. Laura was very patient explaining every step of the process, showing me how to achieve similar results when caring for my hair at home. She was also very professional, gentle with my hair, and lovely to talk to. I’m definitely going to be a loyal customer from here out and already booked my follow up appointment. The salon was also super cute, clean, and easy to get to. Can’t say enough good things about my experience. If you’re considering booking your appointment, don’t hesitate!!

I absolutely loved my 1st experience at Renaissance Curls. The staff was prompt in welcoming me in and starting service. I was offered a snack and drink while being serviced, the environment is clean, spacious, bring and environs. The decor is in line with what I would expect of a natural hair salon, with soft colors and plants to add a nice vibrant touch.. The staff worked well together and informed me as they worked as to what benefit each product had.. I have been looking for a smart natural hair salon to call home for myself and my children. I have a 14 year old who isn’t sure how to manage her natural hair as well as what products to use for maintenance, my 9 old son has very deep curls which need to be loved on more. I have booked the whole family for next month.. We are very excited

Renaissance Curls offers superb service! I went there for the first time with my hair damaged from a keratin treatment I applied myself, thinking I would need to cut off my precious locks. They saved my hair and I am so grateful!! Treatment was very gentle and relaxing, and they explain everything they do each step of the way. I left with great recommendations for products I can use at home and the process of applying. Most importantly, I left with all my hair in tact and so soft and shiny. You will see in my photos the damage I did to my hair and then the end result after my visit. My stylist was Jalyn and she was excellent! I highly recommend this place.

It’s been a little over two weeks since I had treatment done at Renaissance Curls. I’ve done three wash and go’s since then and my hair has gotten better with each wash. The Olaplex treatment is what was applied to my hair and I am quite amazed with the results - thanks again Jalyn! I’m looking forward to my next appointment at the salon for my next treatment. I’ve added a new photo for reference of the wash and go results.

Been going here for a year now and love everything about it. Weena does my cuts, silk presses and wash and gos. She’s amazing and with her help my hair has definitely gotten healthier since coming here. She’s introduced me to a few great products that I use regularly. Everyone here is so sweet and helpful. Very clean and cute salon. I’ve loved every visit.

This was the first time I've been to a salon in a very long time after always having negative experiences. Thankfully, everyone at the salon was pleasant and professional from the moment I arrived.

My hair was washed by Sade, cut by Laura and styled by Jalyn. Jalyn styled my wash-n-go and explained what she was doing step by step so I can replicate the style at home. I left feeling good about my hair and confident in my ability to maintain my hair at home.

Most importantly, no one made me feel like my hair was an inconvenience (unfortunately, that has been my lifelong experience having type 4 hair). The salon also sells the products used for styling; which is helpful if you're like me and get easily overwhelmed by all the product options. My next appointment is already booked :)

Second visit to Renaissance Curls was just as good as the first. Zoë C was my stylist: wash (with steam) blow dry and cornrow updo. As before, every step and product was explained to me. I was also given advice on how to better care for my oily scalp. The atmosphere is comfy. The salon is very clean. They sanitize each station after the client gets up. All of the ladies in the salon are very friendly as well as professional. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for quality service and friendly atmosphere.

I am a hijabi/niqabi and got accomodated for. The staff is so nice like alwyas. Your curls will thank you.

This was my second time at this salon because I had committed to getting my trims every 3 months by a professional. And mind you, I haven't been to a salon in 15 years. And honestly, this is my spot forever! I loved the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and check-in was a breeze. When I was getting my hair washed, the young lady (forgot her name) was very mindful about how much pressure she applied when scrubbing my scalp, making sure to not pull when detangling, she literally made sure to ask if I'm okay and that I wasn't in any pain or uncomfortable. She even told me what products she'll be using and each step of the process. All I had to do was sit back and relax. And it was luxurious to me! It's great to just relax and trust your stylist. I know it can be daunting sometimes but they are empathtic professionals and care about the customer. She then did my blowout with care and offered me snacks/water then Laura did my trim. I took advantage of my time by asking Laura some expert advice on a regimen to reach a hair goal of mine and she gave me a simple routine to do which I'm gonna commit to, I promise! And I'm hoping in 3 months time when I return for my usual trim, the health of my hair will be better. For the trim service, Laura first showed me how much of my ends will be trimmed off and asked my permission and I granted. Again I trusted her to do her thing because she payed attention to the shape, the feel and look of my hair. I left that salon feeling 10x lighter, I don't know why! But just know, this is my spot FOREVER! The experience truely put a smile on my face and gave me peace of mind that I was being cared for the right way 😌

Great salon that caters to coily/curly hair community. The staff is very knowledgeable and guide you through the entire process of achieving your desired style. I normally do my own hair, but I come here quarterly for a trim and a wash and go, it's always a good experience. I leave there looking beautiful and feeling empowered to continue to maintain my healthy WNG coils. Besides the great service, the salon is beautiful and the playlist always hits.

Amazing salon! Renaissance Curls has friendly stylists and a very calming environment. I fell
asleep in the bowl as they gently washed and conditioned my hair. What was also outstanding is that I was in and out earlier than anticipated. It’s a well-oiled machine at Renaissance Curls. I’ll definitely be back.

Recieved a wash and go by Iesha and a haircut by Laura. They did such an amazing job! Not only did they provide so much insight but gave beautiful results. It was my first time getting a wash and go that I liked. Will definetly come here again, in fact I had booked my next appointment right after my hair was done!

I have been a client of Weena for 6 years. She is amazing! I have also referred my daughter who loves her aura and professionalism. The atmosphere is pleasant , especially considering the difficult times we are all facing with the current pandemic. The salon is extremely clean! As you enter her salon you are greeted very warmly and seated almost immediately.

I absolutely loved first visit at Weena's salon. The ladies were so sweet. I can't remember the lady who did my hair but she explained each process before and as she was treating my hair. She really was a sweetheart. The products used were amazing! I was so shocked how soft my hair felt mid-treatment.
Weena was super sweet. I love how she cut my ends and reshaped my hair. What a huge difference the cut made! Despite having other clients, she took the time to show me how to do a proper wash-n-go. It was my first time ever and I'm pleasantly surprised with the results. The products actually held my curls. I'm on day 3 of my wash-n-go and it's still looks really nice.
Overall, I had a great experience. I loved the ladies personalities and am looking forward to my next visit.
