First time there to see Evan Honer last night, beautiful little venue! The show was sold out so it was crowded, but we had plenty of room to dance and move around and you can get a great view of the stage from the balcony. Sound was good for a small place too. We had a chance encounter with the owner outside, nice guy who asked us what we thought of the place and seemed genuinely interested in our opinions, he was friendly. There’s a big beer garden/patio are out back that wasn’t open since it’s February, but we definitely plan on going back to check it out when it gets warmer. We didn’t try the food, but it looked and smelled great. Definitely give them a visit if you’re in the area!

A quaint low-key venue located in the heart of Woodstock New York. Can be easily missed if one is not aware of its location. The occasion was the Upstate Reggae Thanksgiving celebration, and the performances were expertly delivered by local artists with international flair. This was a celebration was inclusive of all patrons and enjoyed enthusiastically by the audience. Upstate Reggae Posse got the ball rolling with an introduction of their signature beats and empowering lyrics. The scope for the group is wide and epitomizes the realities of live via musical delivery. A talented set of performers.
Sunday band continued the musical intensity with a variety of songs that kept the vibes intoxicating, and patrons joining to celebrate popular music. From hip-hop, country, rhythm & blues, reggae music, the audience kept rocking continuously. A very talented group displaying adaptability and depth in the choice of songs delivered and their range of vocals.
It was truly a unique show and a very enjoyable experience. Nice place to visit with abundant parking, a well stock lounge for refreshments, and signature dishes available for patrons.

I Love this place. Wonderful vibe, Wonderful people. I reviewed a larger venue and stated my general displeasure at the hassles with security and parking etc. This is the antithesis of such a place. Plenty of parking across the street. The Woodstock community way of life has an infectious spirit that absorbs into your personal vibe. It's a fun place to go listen to, and dance to the music, with the Woodstock community spirit guiding your fun.

I want to start this review with saying this review is about a soup. Among other things, there is a phenomenal open mic here on monday nights where many local artists come to perform and it’s great to come out and show support. I came here on a monday night and I was very very hungry. I made my way to the kitchen to place my order and stop my stomach from grumbling. This is where I wandered my gaze over to the specials for that day. And saw a soup….this soup…is the most delicious soup I’ve ever had in my life. It was the perfect blend of ingredients, spices, and magic all poured into a bowl. If you’ve ever seen ratatouille, the scene where Remy is mixing flavors and combining tastes and with every bite there is an explosion of fireworks and colors and swirls inside his mouth. This was the experience I had with each and every bite of this soup. If you’re in New York City and they are serving this soup as the special for the day it’s worth it to come up for the open mic watch live music and TASTE THIS SOUP. You will not be disappointed. I can’t remember the name of the soup but I know it was a coconut base, with mushrooms and kale. Picture for reference.

The beer garden is amazing! So beautiful to sit w/a drink & watch the sunset behind the mountains. The ballroom inside is just breath taking. The new owners really took special care to maintain the look & feel of this historic building.

Not only is Colony a community staple hosting fun and unique shows, it's an incredible wedding and special event venue. My husband and I were married at Colony in October, and we couldn't have picked a better place.

From the start, Laura, the venue manager, was an absolute delight to work with. She was responsive, detailed, kind, and SO incredibly helpful. She thought of things I wouldn't have thought to ask about, which made planning our day much easier. We did not use a wedding planner or coordinator, and Laura was so helpful that we did not feel like we needed one. We attribute the success of our event largely to her help.

What's great about Colony for a special events is that food and tables/chairs/linens are included, so we didn't have to worry about outsourcing those services.

The chef is a genius and made the process of selecting menu items a breeze. The food was INCREDIBLE! We loved every bite, as did our guests. When the chef found out my mom didn't like goat cheese, he had a specially-made appetizer order made just for her and the staff brought it out to her.

The sound engineer went above and beyond to help us with special requests, like a slideshow and a custom playlist for the ceremony.

The staff was incredible. Everyone was warm, polite, and attentive. We were so thankful for their help.

Then, there's the space itself, which is a dream come true. All night, we felt like we were in our own home. Colony is warm, intimate, and rich. That said, a room alone can only go so far, and we recognize that the cohesive success of our wedding was due to the effort and intention of the entire Colony team. We will be forever thankful for the best night of our lives <3

Absolutely loved this spot for The Bobby Lees shows. The sound was perfect! Not too loud and so good! The wrap around balcony is beautiful and amazing, the serving and security staff is kind and speedy, efficient and never imposing or overbearing. It felt safe, had multiple bathrooms, and after hours there is a parking lot out back where it seemed to be free parking. Lovely front porch and back outdoor area. Surrounded by great small food places but the food at Colony is also excellent. Hope to come back!

Did you know that the Colony has brunch every Sunday? Music is included. Not many places do brunch in Woodstock--so me and my family were excited to try Colony's brunch. We were not disappointed. I brought my mom and her boyfriend around Christmas time. They got the french toast and eggs Benedict. My mom said it was the best french toast she's ever had. I had to agree, perfectly soft with a slight crystallization on the outside of the toast and came with cinnamon maple butter. The Eggs Benedict was perfect as well, and came with a nice crunchy hash brown birds nest and fresh salad (I've never seen hash browns done that way but I'm a fan). I usually get the eggs Benedict myself but I saw the chicken fried steak plate walk by and I had to get it. It was a huge plate of food and I told myself that there was no way I would finish it. I was wrong, I ate the whole thing! I was so impressed I had to ask about the chef. He's had 20+ years of experience and you can tell. His food has a classy creative comfort food style that perfectly matches the Colony's vibe. I'm looking forward to bringing all my friends and family again for brunch and other musical or food occasions. On separate nights I tried both the chicken curry soup and the French onion soup. Both were great. The French onion soup impressed me because I normally don't like it. But the onion pieces were small and melted in your mouth and the flavor was exactly what its supposed to taste like. I'm looking forward to trying everything and especially the biscuits & gravy and the cheesy grits. I'm so happy to have a new place to brunch out and having guaranteed good food when I'm out for a music night!

this is an amazing, intimate venue that is perfect for any type of concert or event, the live sound was great and clear, the lighting wasn’t too dark to get around during the show like a lot of places, and the balcony was an amazing place to sit and enjoy the show with a drink or some food if that’s your style. the drinks speaking of, were also the cheapest of any venue i’ve been to in the past decade which was great and the parking was very easy as there’s a big lot across the building. when i was talking to a woman next to me before the show, she said she had talked to the owner beforehand about how he picks the artists/shows and just telling her about the venue in general, said he was a really friendly guy! all around, amazing experience

We had the absolute best experience having our wedding at Colony! For our wedding of just over 100 people the space was perfect for both the ceremony and reception. The atmosphere was magical, and everyone was so nice and helpful at every step of the way! Seriously, the staff, the sound engineer, the bartenders, security, everyone was great. We worked with the chef on a customized menu for a buffet style dinner and appetizers that was delicious and that we got so many compliments on! Laura was our main contact, and she was super friendly, easy to work with, and ready to answer all my nitpicky questions. Also, being a music venue, they of course had a fantastic recommendation for a band that we ended up using that everyone loved!

The Colony feels like an old, haunted venue in the best of ways. They hosted the wedding of a few of my best friends a few weeks ago and the staff was magnificent, friendly and filled with character. Can’t wait to go back to just hang out and see some live music. Really great spot

Nice Venue. Small area around Stage, no dance floor...BUT huge back garden. Food is good, even though the kitchen seems a little hectic..so you will wait a bit so get there early. Really interesting building right in Woodstock. Worth a Visit

GET MARRIED HERE.

My husband an I threw the raddest party of all time thanks to the Colony and it's people. We wanted a not-so run-of-the-mill wedding venue and we hit the jackpot in Woodstock!

We worked with Laura to coordinate things from a-z and she made everything we asked for happen. The Chef was also incredibly cool and accommodating - we came up with a nontraditional menu that included some of our favorites foods - it was awesome. Also, great, GREAT bartenders and staff. They were all thoughtful and engaged all night.

We are SO happy we got to tie-the-knot at Colony and wish we could do it all over again. Looking forward to coming back for shows all summer. 10 stars.

Wedding review:
I was married at Colony in September 2022. From the moment I reached out to colony and communicated with Laura via e-mail I could tell this was going to be a different kind of venue, and the sort of place I wanted to get married in. Laura was kind, professional, and beyond accommodating to us. She met with us multiple times throughout the process to talk about the day, plan the menu, let us peak at the space to make sure it was right. She was incredibly flexible with us and made time whenever it fit our schedule. She was quick to answer all of our questions and help quell any and all of our fears and anxieties (and trust me- there was a TON of anxiety.) Her reassurances were not just an empty gesture, because she truly delivered the day off. She was available and attentive not just throughout the entire planning process but also the day of the wedding. I know she worked hard to coordinate the staff and to make sure everything was to our liking and specifications. She helped make our day perfect and I am eternally grateful to her.
The ceremony took place outside, the lawn looked lovely and the chairs were set up as perfect as they could be given the amount of people for a small space. They were hosting an October Fest in the backyard and paused the music for us so we could have quiet for our ceremony. The venue itself is beautiful and unique, it’s a vast space that allows for people to spread out and choose their own fun. The space felt ethereal the night of. I’m a DIYer so the decorations were pretty sparse, but honestly I didn’t feel the space needed it. The building has its own beauty and presence and doesn’t need much to shine. The real stars of the show were the staff. The servers, Amy and Jane were outstanding- they were kind, patient, engaging, and fun! They worked their butts off for us and smiled the entire time. The bartenders- incredible! I’ve never heard so many compliments about drinks at a wedding. We were a large and thirsty group and they kept up with us the whole night, leaving no one to wait for a drink for too long. And they made excellent drinks! The security guards Jacqui and Justin- my true MVP’s of the night! These two helped us in ways I didn’t know I would need them. Not only did they do security detail but they moved chairs, helped me clean up, looked after my things, and helped wrangle my guests. I can’t express how much I appreciate them. Their kindness did not go unnoticed by us and we are grateful to them. The sound guy, Max- also wonderful- he made the band sound incredible, and he was kind enough to show me how to plug my playlist in after the band left. Oh we can’t forget about the food! It was delicious- the kitchen staff went above and beyond and prepared an incredible meal for us. There were plenty of options for people. The chef was even kind enough to bring my mom a to-go platter completely on his own accord. A truly thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated. Our guests keep raving about how much fun they had. Multiple have called it “the best wedding they’ve ever been to.” Everyone was incredibly complimentary about the staff, food, drinks, the space, everything. My guests participated in some true debauchery, something we all really needed given the times. I hope the staff was entertained by the late night antics of old friends who have had too much to drink. They even gave us use of multiple spaces to get ready day off. There’s a small tea house next to the venue that my bridesmaids and I used to get ready- it was wonderful to have that space on site. My Husband and his groomsmen used the Billiards room, some truly great photos came from that. They even let us keep our dogs in the Tea House throughout the night, as it was important to us to have them in our ceremony. We are so happy with how everything turned out. It’s cliché to say, but it truly was the best day of our lives, and Colony made it possible for us. I always loved Colony as a music venue and I’m so happy I still get to visit it and revel in the magic of that day.

A place to dine, drink beverages, and listen to good musicians. Great ambiance, enthusiastic audiences, all in a beautiful old building. Mondays are open mic night.

Such a cool place to hang out at while in the Woodstock area (visiting relatives). Went on a cool October Sunday evening and really enjoyed listening to Mark Delgado and his band. There music was perfect to enjoy while having a few drinks and a smashburger. Everybody was super nice and the atmosphere could not have been more chill (not the October chill in the air). Highly recommend.
