Westchester Square Academy

I give 5 stars to this school where my son is graduating this year, because of the great community we've shared at this school. The teachers and the Principal at this school are excellent. Ir's all about taking the challenge of helping a kid to get educated.with parent engagement and having a team work together with the teachers.They have encouraged my son to perform at his best capacity. I am pleased knowing that I was able to see my son's growth through out this 4 years in many ways: academically, social, emotional and with good values guiding him to be the great human been he is today. Looking forward to his engineering career.

I've been a student at this school for the past 3 years. I'm currently a senior, I transferred in 10th grade and automatically felt very comfortable because of the welcoming community at WSA. The teachers and staff are extremely caring. You can tell that the teachers really enjoy teaching and the staff is incredibly helpful. They have been very supportive and understanding throughout the transition from in person to remote learning and back to in person. I really love attending this school and I'm glad I transferred here.

When I first came to Westchester Square Academy, I felt very scared because I didn’t know how my experience was going to look or if I was really going to fit in. But after a few days I realized that I couldn’t have picked a better place to be. WSA is full of amazing teachers and other staff members who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. With amazing counselors who help you with anything you need and not only care about your academics but also your personal life and well being. It is a school very big on community, empowering student voices, respect, collaboration but most importantly it prioritizes growth not only academically but personally as well. Being in WSA feels like a second home, and as a senior I can say that I will miss it dearly!

Westchester Square Academy is an amazing school. My daughter attended her 4 years of high school here and was not only an excellent scholar but also grew as a person. The teachers are always available to communicate. They make sure each student succeeds. The school provides rigorous academic courses that include the arts. Teachers are always available if students need extra help. The school is run effectively and all staff makes sure students are in a safe environment. They keep parents informed all the time from emails to phone messages. The principal always has an open door policy. You send an email and are guaranteed a response in a timely manner. I will definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for a safe and academically driven school.

WSA has responded well to the demands of the pandemic, they've transitioned to work from home environment and are working hard to ensure that the children are receiving adequate instruction. They have done a great job at keeping the children engaged through thought provoking discussions and open dialogue. They are providing additional resources and workshops as well to help parents to acclimate to the new remote environment. The teachers are available and willing to help after hours when needed and have done a tremendous job at holding my son accountable. It's been a wonderful experience thus far!

I am the parent of one current and two former students of WSA and my experience has been nothing short of amazing! I have had the privilege to work alongside administration as a parent leader through PTA and SLT. I am always confident that my child is safe and receiving their education from a faculty who truly has their best interest in mind. Even through the pandemic, school staff went above and beyond to support all students weather remote or in person. As a graduate myself of Lehman High School before it was separated into campus schools, I see a huge improvement in the way things are run. My daughter who is a rising 8th grader will also apply and hopefully attend WSA in 2022.

I am happy to be part of the WSA family where I work as a Community Coordinator. This role has allowed me to be able to collaborate and form partnerships and relationships with many organizations in order to build bridges between the school and the community. For instance, a result of these partnerships is our internship program. One of the intentions of this program is to help the student accelerate their learning by “trying out” a job or industry to determine if it is the right choice for them later on in the future. In addition to that the students also earn credits and attend a seminar class as well. I also coordinate college campus tours to CUNY, SUNY and private colleges. Amongst the many other responsibilities that I hold, the one that I truly enjoy is connecting with our WSA families. They are always present in our virtual meetings, on the phones, at the school, and every single event that we host they make themselves present. We value their partnership and we love hearing from them all the times. Families are an integral part of our school community and we can not do all this work without all of you. We valued your support, presence and interactions as this promotes student's success.

A wise decision in choosing Westchester Square Academy for my son's high school education. Both the administrative and academic staff are highly trained to provide quality education and excellent human and cognitive training.
In addition to providing the correct and agile advice to access programs that will help and facilitate access to a college.
