Avon Lake Public Library

How can you not love.this library? The DiscoveryWorks is unbelievable and just an incredible learning place for all ages. The kids section is wonderful. We have enjoyed many events here and have blown us away including a reindeer at Christmas. Also the volunteers are the best- we love Wendy and Allie!

Avon Lake public library, has a fantastic children’s section. We’ve enjoyed the science related activities, board games, and holiday crafts.

We went to a very informative presentation regarding the Total Solar Eclipse preparations.

This is the very best library that I have ever been to. There is a quiet study area, an area for small children, and an area for young adults.
Additionally, there is an area called 'Discovery Works' where children (and adults) of all ages can learn about TONS of science scope. My favorite part is where you can step into the inside of what a kaleidoscope looks like!

I remember coming here when I was younger and playing in the science kids area. Came back as an adult and was happy to see they still have it and they've made it better. My kids really enjoyed it.

Very nice, tidy, and clean! Staff is super friendly and helpful without being pushy or annoying with recommendations. Have a large variety of books, DVDs, video games, and public computers. Have quiet areas for studying and have a kid friendly section as well. Overall is pretty quiet but not totally silent. Usually some small chatter or children talking. Nothing disruptive tho.

Great place to come, browse, and read your books without sitting in complete silence for those that hate that.

I grew up going to this library and now I take my daughter here. It’s unlike any library I’ve ever visited. Great selection of books and wonderful kids activities.

Beautiful library with a large and wide variety of books and CDs/DVDs. The librarians are very helpful in locating materials needed and the programs offered for all age groups are interesting and relevant. During the long quarantine period, it was my lifeline with online holds and curbside pickup. ALPL rocks!

It's one of the cuyahoga county libraries that retains it's vintage charm & character (the puppeteers in action at the children's storytime hour are tactful in holding the kids undivided attention; Elmo would be impressed)
The dutiful librarians & staff are always on hand to help and to maintain proper library decorum. It has what you're looking for - books.
PS. They've instilled good safety guidelines and procedures for the times we're in.

The Avon Lake Public Library is one of my happy places. The library staff are knowledgeable, always helpful and friendly. The curbside service as well as Zoom bookclubs offered during the pandemic have been a lifeline for many residents.

My family loves this library so much that my kids beg me to take them. Today we went during storytime and I honestly don't know who enjoyed it more... me or the kids!

The library's Discovery Works area for kids is a great place to take kids to play and learn. Its a wonder place to take my kids near in my local area.

Huge selection for all ages. ALPL has a kids section AND discovery works (think STEM type activities). A great asset to the community!

Great staff person helped get my computer cabled to their projector quickly after I was unable to. The presentation came off without a hitch otherwise.

Friendly staff, willing to hold items over the phone and locate materials at other locations and send them to Avon Lake. I enjoy coming here and renting Books, DVDs and CDs. Thanks!
