Last night with my mom before flying back home. It was a great time. We share margaritas together ❤ 😋 I love you mom.

Food tastes amazing, the server was very helpful as well as polite, and the decor throughout the resteraunt is beautiful. There is a divider in between the bar and the dining area. Overall, the environment is clean, yet the tables are a little sticky. Finally amazing Mexican music.

Loved the tasty chili and cheese toppings. A lot of food served. Huge portions. Good crunch on the chips. We are from Texas and eat Mexican food about 3 to 4 times a week. This is good Mexican food.

I love the homey feel inside and the unassuming feel outside of the restaurant. The waitresses know regular customers which is a nice thing to watch. And the menu is quite varied and includes specials, salads, and combination deals.

Great food and great drinks. The portions were very generous and the service was great. The parking was challenging, so plan some extra time to get spot at peak times.

I visited Fernando’s Mexican Restaurant for dinner with my family and we had a great time. The restaurant is cozy and colorful, with a lot of Mexican decorations and paintings. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and authentic. We ordered the enchiladas, the fajitas, the chile relleno, and the carne asada, and they were all flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. We also enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, which had a nice kick to it. The restaurant also offers takeout, delivery, and catering services. I would definitely recommend Fernando’s Mexican Restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable Mexican meal in San Mateo.

My former neighbor and his fiance took me and my then boyfriend out to a dinner here years ago as a fun double date. I don't know what it's been like recently but back then, the food was delicious fresh with large portions and friendly attentive staff. To die for margaritas!!! I really miss this place as I've been in sacramento for the past decade but I'm glad to see it's still around and I'll definitely be back 🥰🔥🥑🌮💯

This place is great. The wonderful waitress will call you “momma” and “papa” and make you feel awesome. Margaritas and food are good too!

The food is great but the people make this place. Staff is super friendly and the kitchen cooks up some great food and the bar makes the drinks to get the party started. But the jewel is Marina. She is the best. Always makes you feel welcome and has a smile to light up the room. This is a must try place.

It was our first time here and we arrived super late, so we decided to go to the bar and order some appetizers! They were great, but I would like to shout out our bartender! He was super nice!

Marina and her staff are the best people around. Margaritas are super good. Try the special shrimp. They're wrapped in bacon and so big. Great place for friends and family.

Definitely don't go here, but only because if too many people find out about it, I'll have to wait to be seated. This place is my favorite hidden gem in San Mateo. It's not very crowded, the food is good, the salsa is great, and the staff is nice. I LOVE Mexican food but really struggle to find good places in the Bay. This is my new favorite.

We started with fresh corn chips and homemade spicy salsa. My husband is a connoisseur of corn chips and salsa and said that these were on point. Next came our tasty tortilla soup and coleslaw. Then finally enchiladas and burritos which were hearty, wholesome and spiced to perfection. Apart from the fabulous and well priced food (we took home two to-go boxes) the service was attentive and warm. Our waitress cuddled our baby twice and told us that her granddaughter is the same age. This restaurant has a great mix of Mexican elements that amplified its authenticity, from the Mexican murals on the walls, people chatting around us in Spanish, the multicolored stained glass windows and hand-painted ceramic tiles on the tables. Very enjoyable and authentic!
