La China Poblana Taqueria

Suggested by the guys at Matt's Guitars nearby. We had never had birria tacos. They were amazing! Also tried the tres leches cake. All was so delicious! Its also bright & colorful inside with super friendly & attentive. Highly recommend!

Been here several times over the years and have always had very good service and excellent food!
They're known for their birria, which they make from brisket (I know, it's supposed to be goat) and it's tender and flavorful. Their tacos, burritos, mulita Birria, guacamole are all really good!

Definitely highly recommend!

Food is always outstanding when I come here. Their tacos are absolutely amazing and they have the best taco Tuesday deal which is what you see in this picture (Birria, chicken, and chorizo) but some of my other favorite things are quesobirria and the Birria ramen. Super friendly staff. If you’re looking for some great food this is your place. The inside can be a little small if they do get busy they have a pretty big outside area but if it’s cold or too hot, sometimes the outside area not open. They do not sell alcohol, which can be hit or miss for some people I do think an ice cold margarita would go fantastic with their amazing food. Overall great place I will always recommend them for quality food.

A beautiful little Mexican restaurant with some really good food. Loved all the dishes that we ordered and the staff were welcoming and courteous. Their Churros and drinks were really good. The Chile Rellenos and Birria Taco Platter were amazing. Would definitely go there again.

Great hospitality. Amazing ambience and delicious food. We had Chile Relleno in vegetarian and Birria ramen and Birria tacos in non vegetarian. Everything was tasty.

Unbelievably good. Every bite was incredible. I was there on a business trip. I live in Southern CA and we don't have a Mexican food place close to as good as La China Poblana was! The tamales are a must have (they are gigantic). Quesabirria, killer! Mulitas, gorgeous. I'll be back

We stopped by on a Wednesday evening and had a great meal outside. I had the birria tacos and my wife had the molcajete. Both amazing. The agua fresca was great. We also had the churros and tres leches for dessert. Amazing. The staff was very friendly. This was our first time and we'll be back.

Got the deep fried tilapia. It is an interesting dish. Deep fried tilapia tastes very different from normally prepared tilapia with a different harder texture to the meat. It comes with beans, rice, tortillias, a salad... Too much food. Got a fish dish to eat less food since I wasn't too hungry but obviously that was a mistake. I need to skip lunch before coming here again 😆

First time eating here and I wasn’t expecting to find an authentic Mexican cuisine , everything was delicious from drinks to the main dishes.

I have been coming here since they’ve opened and I have not once had a bad experience here.

The employees are very sweet and helpful.
The environment of the place is just wholesome and authentic, I love hearing the music they play it just gets me in the mood to eat.

Now the food:

Best Birria Burrito & pizza in town.
No seriously, the birria burrito is so good, the flavors mixed together so well and I love how delicious the black beans are in it.
And it comes packed with meat, both the birria burrito and pizza do!

The birria pizza is for 2-4+ people and it is so delicious I highly recommend it.

I absolutely love all of their tacos especially the birria, steak and lengua.

Normally the lengua is really good and juicy but The last time I was there,which was about two weeks ago, It was a bit dry and bland tasting so they might have just had an off day with it.

I’ve had a breakfast entrée of theirs before and it was delicious, make sure you try the Tres leches cake too.

I’ve sat outside a couple of times and the food was still out in the same timely manner as usual & the employees do not forget about you so feel free to sit out there when the weather is good.

Ps. They do get really busy during rush-hour times so parking does get tricky since their parking lot is not that big so prepare for that if you go during busy times

Went in on Cinco de Mayo for my very first visit. Ordered the highly acclaimed Birria Ramen, and they were running a holiday special 3 tacos/$5. What a deal! I chose al pastor for my tacos which came with pineapple chuncks mixed in. Amazing.

Both the birria ramen and the al pastor tacos were incredibly flavorful, and the portions were very generous. The ramen was so cheesy it was literally clogging my fork!

It was all swallowed down with a huge glass of super tasty horchata which I highly recommend.

FYI, this place is HOPPING, if you want to get a parking space nearby you better come early before the average lunch rush shows up around noon-12:15.

First time eating here. It had nice atmosphere and all staffs were very friendly.

We had a Large guacamole to share, and they give you a lot. I say a large tub is good for 4 people.

Sopa de birra was very flavorful and it was perfect since it was chilly today. It had a lot of brisket in it, and it was very tender. I will definitely order this again with Ramen noodles next time. The Boal is also huge, and sharing with 2-3 people will work as well. They should offer a spicy version for this one for Ramen.

We also ordered just about every Taco they had on the menu. Everything was good. Al pastor Taco(pineapple pork) was 🔥!! I'll have to order a few of those next time.

Beer and some mixed drinks, or even non-alcholic frozen drinks would be super nice if they can offer them down the road.

Had an amazing meal here on Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend the Birria Ramen..so flavorful and delicious!!! The salsas were so flavorful and authentic.

The service was exceptional and so friendly.. felt like you were eating at someone’s home kitchen.. the warmth and hospitality.

I ordered plantains and a torta Cubano here and it was too good that I ate it too fast, The waitress was very kind to us and the service was overall very good. I would definitely come back here often.

The Bierra Ramen was fantastic. The food was so delicious and I am definitely coming back

The meat portion was big and was tender.
The ramen noodles were great and the broth was flavorful.

Service wasn't great, but it was fine.

Amazing little hole in the wall! Very authentic and packed full of flavor! I was never a birria fan until I came here! The ramen and the quesadilla pizza were honestly the best I've ever had with birria. The caldo is simply undescribable! Their tacos and also perfect and a great portion. I fell in love with the decor a well, it's so cute and inviting, very full of life and color. Very much looking forward to trying a few more things from their menu!

It's a taqueria. This is a super good taqueria. Yes, there are a lot of mex/tex-mex/spanish/central american food joints in the area. But this is that "go-out-of-your-ways" place to eat especially for these food items done so well that there are no close competitors that I am aware of.

So what should you come here to eat (and this list will surely grow and get updated as I incrementally sample their menu over time):

-- Birria (beef slow-cooked stew) dishes --
It is jaw-dropping full-bodied beef consommé. When you were a kid and your parents describe some food as light-bodied or full-bodied but you just have no clue. Well come try the birria consommé here and you'll get it right away.

-- Birria ramen --
A formidable sleeper and culinary rival I would bet with anytime when up against the tonkotsu ramen.

-- Menudo, menudo, menudo! --
Hands down the best, most gelatinous, silky soft texture honey-comb beef tripe soup in my life. And it is an entire bowl of menudo + a nicely stewed ham-hock to gnaw on at the same time. This is so good, it's getting on my death row meal list!

-- Black beans & rice --
It's so good here and only here, I actually ordered extra beans & rice to take home. Almost everyone's beans and rice is the same but this place is special. I believe the beans & rice here is better than Popeye's.

-- Flan --
Hard to describe but I feel like I start to dream when I start eating their flan. No, there's zero cannibis/THC/CBD/CBG/CBN additives here. To describe the flan as velvety smooth is an understatement here. Tres leches cake comes in very close second here as well.

So that's the 4 major food groups described above which you should ever need in your life. Hope you will come to love the food the same way I do.

What a find! In town for work and we chose this place based on the menu and reviews. Chips with the cheesy dip to start were great. Then the tacos arrived to the table...Carne asada and Pollo. There were perfectly seasoned, spiced and filled! They were so good I ordered a second round! The bistec (steak) burrito had to be shared because it was so good and large!
Portion sizes for prices are great and an absolute value!
Service was very quick and courteous.
Can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!
