I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious. Yes, bread service is a $1 now but it's not a deal breaker. I always order the eggplant parmesan and it is always crispy and has the perfect amount of cheese melted on top. Weekends are generally very busy and seating can be limited but a weekday lunch is almost empty!

Go left and go right, go everywhere, but you will never find better than Ciao and Chef Antonio!

Ciao is really the best!
Start with the delicious bread with the bread price going as a donation!
Then, get a delicious appetizer like the grilled and fried calamari
I also love the octopus at Ciao !
The menu is full of options!
I love all the pastas, especially the lasagna, puttanisca, and the aglio e olio !
Pizza is amazing here, too !
The ambiance is pretty nice and warm! I love the bar seating area
I can't wait to go there again!

This place is tucked into a regular plaza, but it's food is simply outstanding! Had the Ciao pizza and absolutely fantastic. Properly cooked, great chew in the crust, and ingredients were fresh and delicious. Warm atmosphere and clean bathrooms!

We recently dined at Ciao Osteria Italian Restaurant and had an overall delightful experience. The antipasto, Fried Calamari, accompanied by lemon pesto and marinara sauce, was enjoyable, although we've had better elsewhere. The calamari had a firm texture and a pleasant taste.

Moving on to the primi courses, we ordered La Carbonara, which featured spaghetti sautéed with onions, pancetta, egg, pecorino, and a touch of cream sauce. It was an absolute delight, bursting with flavor. The other primi, Pasta Aglio e Olio, consisted of perfectly cooked spaghetti tossed with garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, basil, and a hint of tomato sauce, topped with pecorino cheese. This dish was simply superb and left us craving for more.

The server at Ciao Osteria provided outstanding customer service, being attentive to our needs throughout the meal. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the restaurant was terrific, creating a warm and inviting ambiance for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

While the Fried Calamari may not have been the absolute best we've had, the delicious primi courses, attentive service, and delightful atmosphere at Ciao Osteria made our visit truly memorable. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their enticing menu.

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Centreville. Margarita Pizza is amazing. Calamari is also very tasty. Soft inside and crispy outside.

Phenomenal food, ambiance, and service. Came here for my mother’s birthday celebration and they gave us wonderful service. Hands down the best Italian in the DMV. Only minor improvement was the shrimp in my scampi was slightly overcooked. Otherwise, everything else was perfect! Kids meal is quite large and our young child got another two meals after taking the leftovers home. Highly recommend.

Great place to go for a date night. True Italian dishes, great atmosphere, servers have personalities all their own. We've been here a couple of times and everything is awesome. Get a few baskets of bread, proceeds go to charity.

I've been to dozens of Italian restaurants across Virginia and the U.S., and to my genuine surprise... this is the best Italian food I've ever had. Full stop.

The quality of the imported food ingredients and the authenticity of the dishes are unmatched, and I can wholeheartedly say that if you come here, you will not be disappointed by the food. I've heard many people say, "order anything off the menu, and you can be sure it'll be one of the best things on there." I can confirm this.

Also, if you're a pizza need, you're gonna want to order their Margherita Pizza. You'll thank me later.

The vibe and decor is very much hole-in-the-wall eatery, but I can't complain since the servers are studious and informative, and the overall energy is great.

First time going to Ciao, we went in a slower service time (4pm) - had stellar service, food was amazing, manager/owner checked in on us several times to confirm everything was good. Highly recommend stopping in to try their menu. As we closed out on our meal the place got busier so I imagine reservations would be smart during a busier time. As it got busier, we still had wonderful service. We will definitely be back soon. Very home-like authenticity.

I have been to Ciao several times with my husband and everytime I have been there the experience was wonderful. We are slowing working through their entire menu and there has been very few dishes that we didn't like.

For an appetizer we usually get a VPN pizza to split. The pizza is excellent, crispy crust with charred bits, tart and tangy sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil.

I do not recommend the rice ball appetizer. The flavors weren't the best and after cutting it open, it was pretty wet. It wasn't really my husband or my jam.

The tricolored gnocchi is taste preference. The white sauce was excellent, red sauce was just a red sauce, and the pesto/green sauce is based on personal preference. When I had it, I did not enjoy the pesto too much since it was very bitter to me. However, a friend I introduced to Ciao loved it and said that it wasn't too bitter.

Everything else we tried has been great. So far my husband's favorite is the New Zealand lamb chop, and my favorite is the, I think, prime rib ravioli. It was some kind of meat ravioli that's on the special menu.

We always end our meal with a cappuccino. It's very delicious. 10/10 would recommend if cappuccino is your jam.

It's not the cheapest meal, but it's definitely a treat, and the portion sizes are pretty big.

A bit crowded, but the food and service are as good as you can dream. Just have to ask your waiter for the best... and that's what you'll get. Want a veal tomahawk? Want a special cut, special spread, special coffee? You can have whatever here. It's more amazing than what you'd expect being in a strip mall setting.

Great food: from appetizers, pizzas, pasta to desserts. The pistachio ricotta cake was my fav. I think my server was Alejandro, the big guy (sorry if I was wrong). He was attentive and friendly.

Ciao Osteria in Centreville, VA never disappoints. The owner and his chef nephew run an authentic Sicilian restaurant where the food is cooked old world style, just like Momma and Nona used to cook. I started with the pillow pasta filled with pears, Gorgonzola and ricotta with an amazing Gorgonzola and tomato sauce. No matter what, you need to start with this, then I had their hearts of palm salad that’s made to perfection. I now have lots of amazing leftovers. Ended my meal with their cappuccino that’s even better than any I’ve ever had in Italy. All the while they play Italian music and songs by Frank Sinatra. Here’s a small sampling from the menu. You’ll see from the front of the menu that they’ve won numerous awards. Eating at Ciao’s is not only a meal but an experience where the chef and owner always come out to great their guests. Thanks to my server, Alejandro for making this experience perfect!!!

Solid locally-owned Italian restaurant in the Centreville area. Convenient location with plenty of parking. Made a reservation via Yelp app and the entire process was streamlined. Hostess was friendly and seated us immediately.

Our server, Matt, was very personable and clearly passionate about his work! He's definitely an asset to Ciao.

Our dishes were all flavorful with decent sized portions.

Prices are on the higher end but worth it for quality Italian food.

Overall, I definitely recommend giving them a try.

I visited on a quiet Monday evening for some pre-game watching eating. Found my way to the longer bar (they have two actually — one about eight seats and the other three). Sam was one of the most pleasantly engaging barkeeps I have experienced in quite some time. He provided recommendations as well as a detailed explanation of the pizza oven and food philosophy of the restaurant and instances when owners greet customers.

I ordered a hearts of palm salad, octopus with asparagus, and meatball/fries sides to eat there. I also took a superiore pizza and tiramisu dessert to go. The salad had great portions and proportions of ingredients (hearts of palm, artichokes, red peppers, and olives) which tasted crisp and fresh. My first time having octopus was well rewarded with good texture and meatiness feel to the octopus and again an appreciated portion size. Nice acidity from the accompanying lemon caper sauce too. Sam’s recommendation on the meatballs was well placed, as I enjoyed three meatballs that had good meat flavor with little binder, texture not too soft and not too firm, and fresh marinara. Fries were crisp and hot as well as not salty at all. I liked experiencing pizza the Italian way — lightly sauced with nearly perfect topping proportion, a little char on the bottom, and a great tasting crust. Ending with the homemade tiramisu (first time eating this dessert ever) was definitely the right call. Soft but such a light interior, well controlled sweetness from the marscapone cheese, and just the right amount of cocoa powder.

Prices seem only slightly higher than what might be typical for the area. I definitely feel one can get satisfying value in any section of the menu. I have to try one of the pastas on my next visit and maybe a special or two and the housemade cannoli. I can totally see why this place has the popularity it does!

Absolutely amazing Italian food. As a family of 8 we called ahead and reserved a table and had no trouble once we arrived. It did get SUPER busy by the time we left and it's a smaller sized restaurant so call ahead! We were promptly seated at a table large enough to not have to squeeze in. We had a little one with a lot of food allergies (soy, egg, gluten, shellfish and wheat) and he received a special appetizer and pizza (he said it was the best gluten free pizza he'd ever had). We were in awe at how tender the calamari was. The mussels had a perfect amount of garlic and were fresh. The bruschetta was well done too but far too many tomatoes so could use a tiny bit less (yes it's possible to have too many lol). I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs and the flavor was on point. A few others at the table had the Il Misto with garlic sauce and freshly made noodles. They loved every bite. Everyone at the table cleaned their plates. Couldn't stop eating it. For dessert we all shared 2 tiramisu's and it was freshly made and very well done.

Amazing Italian food and great place generally. I liked most of the staff but our waiter specifically, although knowledgeable, took very long to check on us even when there was almost no one left in the restaurant.

A hidden gem in Centreville. This place has wonderful food, and is special enough to be the go-to spot for my anniversary dinner. I recommend trying their "VPN" pizza as it's as authentic to neapolitan pizza as you can get without going there yourself. They also have an amazing short rib ravioli.

We went there for a dinner with friends and had a large 11 person party. We had 7 kids who loved the bread and appetizers, along with the pizza in different shapes! Their next favorite thing was the gelato :) Parents enjoyed amazing wine and entrees...it was wonderful! Our server was Evan and she was fantastic! Took time with taking each kids order from them, answering questions patiently, and overall made the experience wonderful! We will definitely be going back!

We enjoyed the fresh pasta and pizza. We preferred the pasta though. We ordered fettuccine pesto which didn't work and they were happy to replace with fettuccine Alfredo. It was delish! Local, fresh and yummy food. Must try
