Tapatio Mexican Grill

Great experience and one of the better traditional Mexican restaurants in the area. They have a small breakfast menu on certain days and plenty of Mexican dishes. Some of the option do include sour cream but you can ask them for a side instead.

They also have a kids menu with a few mexican stule options but they also cater to the general public by adding mac and cheese as well as burger options. Their fries are amazing believe it or not.

My wife had the chicken flautas pictured in this review. A bit crispier would have gone a long way but its the difference between a good char or over-charred. Ask for the special tomatillo salsa. Goes really well with the flautas.

My son has a kids cheeseburger. Good char and the fries are amazing. Backyard burger taste.

I had a California burrito. Not a fan of the cali burrito in general but when i saw the fries I figured I would give it a try. Even though the tortillas is restaurant grade, the meat and all the ingredients including the fries made up for the tortilla. Add the spicy salsa I mentioned and you have a great tasting California burrito. It’s a tomatillo based salsa with a nice kick to it. I did ask for well done charr on the meat and it was nice and juicy.

Overall a great customer experience which was the cherry on top. That said, it was not busy when we showed up around 12 noon so I cannot speak about busy times. This is our 3rd time here. This is our weekend spot now. Thank you Tapatio and Mario!

The nicest people in the world work here. I get excellent and fast service every time I eat here. And the food is delicious. Basically I love this place.

I had an amazing experience at Tapatio! I ordered the Tacos Carbon Asada, and they were fantastic. The flavors were authentic and mouthwatering. To complement the meal, I had a refreshing Mango Margarita on the rocks, which was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Our waitress, Sabrina, was incredibly friendly, engaging, and personable, making the dining experience even better. This place has become my go-to Mexican spot in the area, and I can't wait to go back!

This is a rediscovered gem. We came many times years ago but it's a bit far from home. After the Mexican restaurants in the highlands got a bit boring, we decided to go back. So glad we did. My brother had carne asada fajitas. He loved them and said the onion was cooked perfect and the beef was flavorful and well seasoned. I had carnitas tacos. They were pretty good but a bit too much tortilla. They were doubled but very thick. Good texture and taste and I think they are homemade. The pork roast was delicious and I would try something else with the pork. The atmosphere is bright, clean and the dinning room large and well spaced with booths and table and chair options, as well as outdoor seating. The service is excellent, servers friendly and professional. Both times we have come recently has been for lunch.

I had 3 separate meetings here and each time the food was great! Loved the street taco, ghost pepper cheese and churros. Prices are reasonable, the outdoor patio is perfect. Breakfast guy colors, pleasant snd attentive staff and great food makes this review 5 stars.

Finally tried Tapatio after a few recommendations and I was not disappointed. I had a Corazon margarita that showed up quickly and really hit the spot. So many options on the menu but I opted for the Carnitas Michoacan. Very fresh and delicious. I am ready to go back and explore more of the menu. The seasonal decor was gorgeous.

Salsa and chips are served upon arrival, and they are to die for!
We had lunch, the menu was not intuitive but you can figure it out while munching on the chips and salsa.
Ordered street tacos, they were fantastic with all the right touches.
The ambiance is homey and comfortable, with friendly service.
Highly recommend.

I got the Enchiladas with sauce made of Habanero, they did not disappoint, and presentation of the plate looked well done. The people on shift around 1pm 3/21/24 were quick and polite. I recommend coming here and eating in. I also purchased a bottle of 400 Conejos. The prices are pretty reasonable here aswell.

I love coming to Tapatio newcastle and have for 15 years. The owner Luis is very welcoming and makes us feel right at home every time. Jorge is our favorite server, he remembers what we order and always makes sure everything is perfect. The support staff ie hosts and bussers are very polite and nice as well. I can always on count the food to be fantastic and never disappoint. Come check this place out, you won't regret it! :)

This is a great classic sit down Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa are great and the menu is delicious classic Mexican options. The carne is particularly amazing.

I had an amazing vegan dinner here! Cashew sauce on my enchiladas. It was delicious. Their rice and beans are both vegan. It's a little expensive, but so is everywhere else these days.

We went to Tapatio after a friend recommended it. Best Mexican food we have had in the area. I had sopitas with carne asada- delicious. And my s.o. had the Machaca- he has been on the search for the best since we moved to this area, and he thinks he found it at Tapatio. We are planning on going back this weekend for more. Excellent food. Friendly service. Great experience.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is it! Absolutely delicious! We've been here a few times now and is definitely our go-to Mexican food when we're craving it. We decided to go on Cinco De Mayo and they even had a Mariachi band! Wonder food and experience. Highly recommend the Carne Asada Burrito. Pork tocos pictured were also delicious! Don't forget the Horchata!

What a Great restaurant the Food was incredible just so delicious we went on a Friday night and it was packed so the service was good just kinda crazy the Margaritas were Killer I really recommend this great restaurant will be making this my main spot !!!! Thank You !!!!!

Great food and very friendly staff. Little to no wait time on the food which was piping hot and tasty!

The flan and Tres leches cake were spectacular. Enchiladas Guadalajara was good as well.

Everything is wonderful at this restaurant anything I've ordered has been amazing
