Warm atmosphere on a cold night. We ordered a dinner salad to share and the kitchen split it onto two plates for us. The creamy chicken soup was excellent. We ordered a chili burger to split also and again the kitchen served it on separate plates. As we are older, the portions shared were excellent in size upon recommendation from the server. We ordered the bread pudding, it was one of the best bread puddings I’ve ever eaten. It was the perfect size for sharing. I would return to the Albany and strongly suggest anyone visiting Cheyenne to dine here it’s right off the square which was decorated for Christmas. Post dinner stroll around the lighted decorations near the railroad depot, museum was delightful. And of course the view of the capital rotunda was awesome at night.

For those who don't know, this long-time downtown fixture is not only a restaurant it's also a full bar, and it has a package liquor side too. For this review, I will be discussing my time eating at the restaurant side of it. My recent visit here was the first time I've eaten at this restaurant in approximately 20 years. It felt meaningful being here because of the history of this restaurant with how long it has been open. Well, getting to my dining experience. All the staff I talked to were really friendly. My waitress was awesome and kept making sure my party and I were ok. The food took a bit longer to come out, but my thing is, I don't mind if it takes a little longer for the food as long as it's fresh. Well, the food was indeed very fresh. The burger I got was pretty decently sized, and it tasted very good. I was very pleased with how the food turned out. It just was an overall good visit. I think it's worth mentioning that this restaurant is in a great location with it being in the heart of downtown Cheyenne. It's right next to the depot and in walking distance to other attractions, shops, bars, and other businesses worth visiting.

We went to the The Albany for lunch, something I haven't done for many years. I've gone for dinner and haven't been too impressed but I have to say, lunch was awesome. I had the Portobello Sandwich with Coleslaw and my partner had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese and Coleslaw. Service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was so genuine and warm. My partner and I agreed the Coleslaw was the best we've had anywhere. It was real Coleslaw. Not soggy and not over seasoned with salt and other spices. The Portobello Sandwich was great. A big meatly slice of grilled Portobello with cheese on Sourdough. It wasn't greasy although the bread didn't hold up too well because it was juicy. Not a bad problem to have! My partner said his Grown Up Grilled Cheese was great. I am very impressed because I love supporting the historical restaurants of Cheyenne. We will definitely be back to sample other dishes! Oh, and the entertainment we had from the men behind us who discussed the sex toys found in one of their rental properties was priceless.

Simple great food in a down home Wyo atmosphere! The burger was high quality meat, I was very impressed. Recommend the mushroom burger! For you ranch dressing snobs, their ranch dressing is house made. The empty plate photoed is a testament to how good the food!

I ordered The Albany....👌it was excellent.

Located by the train depot in downtown it's a good location for walking around and enjoying downtown.

Service was happy, attentive and professional.

Had a wonderful late lunch here for eight. Hostess was fast, friendly and mistake-free. I had the Rueben with fries and was not let down, very delicious. Son got the double burger and loved it, and it was big. The facility is nice with pleasant decor, but it is slightly dark in there.

Pool table, lots of room and cool location.

Nice job Albany!

We sat at the bar, the bartender made the best, Irish coffee I’ve ever had… Food was comforting and delicious. I highly recommend a stop for the ambience and the service.

Pretty good places to eat in the heart of Cheyenne. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes & gravy along with the chicken barley soup. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded & fried, the mashed potatoes were really good, & everything on the plate was covered in gravy just like it should be! Would definitely go back!

So glad we chose this spot. Bartender Jeremy made our dining, sipping experience special. House special, chicken fried steak was fab. Best hunky blue cheese salad dressing ever. We will return.

Excellent!! BEST prime rib I've ever had. Seriously. All the food was delicious, from the good salads, the sides, the meat. Service was great, our waiter was polite, friendly, and attentive. The fresh blueberry pie was amazing too. Oh, and they make excellent mules.

Great restaurant. It is a classic older restaurant with amazing food. I had prime rib and it was the best I have had in years. And at only $25 it was an amazing deal. Good mixed drinks, good local beer on tap, and great cobbler for dessert. Service was great and the manager came by to say hello and check on us. Will definitely go back.

This was an exceptional, comfortable place to sit and relax while enjoying a nice dinner. The steak dinner we had was terrific, just the way we asked for it to be. Sitting at the bar was perfect for the two of us, with plenty of space otherwise. Our bartender/ waitress was so pleasant.
Just go in for a drink or have a great dinner. You'll enjoy it!

This is a great historical Bar and Restaurant in the heart of cheyenne. Easy to access with lots of off-site parking nearby. This restaurant is large and can accommodate many people, and the service was excellent! I had the prime rib and it was on point, the sweet potato fries were amazing.

A very pleasant surprise! Met relatives from Cincinnati on their way home from the Grand Tetons, my daughter and I live in Fort Collins. The prices were very affordable compared to Fort Collins. The prime rib sandwich was huge and tasty. I had heard about the restaurant but had not driven up to Cheyenne to eat there. I should have done this sooner. Great place and very charming staff. I also love patronizing historical places.

I eat here every time I visit Cheyenne. Mostly because my dad eats here nearly every day. In his defense, the food is good, the people are terrific, and the food is always high quality. The historic atmosphere is just a bonus.

A GREAT place to eat and drink. Drove over fifty miles to try the food and the atmosphere. The place is amazing. Great food, excellent service and the staff is a hoot, on the good side. We will be back every time we get to Cheyenne, where there are more cowboys and cowgirls!

Fresh and Delicious, homemade food. I had the chicken fried steak, absolutely delicious. The wife had the hot turkey sandwich, it was delicious. One of my kids is a picky eater, they accommodated. We got an order of cheese sticks and added 3 fried shrimp to it. Thanks for a great time and some great home cooked food.
