Fantastic place in downtown Renton for fish and chips. Three options of fish, a perfect batter, and delightful fries. The potato cakes are out of this world good. They have excellent chicken tenders and burgers as well, plus beer on tap.

Chill spot. Really delicious fish tacos. The fish portions were a respectable size and well prepared in my opinion. The tacos came with a solid portion of sauce and slaw to balance everything out.

Really great fish & chips. The fish chowder was excellent. Also had pineapple fritters which were great.
I like this place better than Ivar's!
It was a little noisy but that was probably just from having bare walls.

Hands down, amazing. Had the basket and the chowder. It was all phenomenal. Mitchell was kind and pleasant. I have had a lot of seafood in my life, and a lot of great seafood. And this was definitely up there.

Amazing first time, my partner and I both really enjoyed our meals. Everything had fantastic flavors, house sauce was perfect. The price seems fair for the absolute monster serving. Will definitely be returning.

Heard about this little eatery from neighborhood app and decided to cone give it a try on this rainy Sat aftn. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and tastiness of the food here. Definitely one of the best fish tacos I've ever had, compatible to the ones I've had up in Alaska, fresh and moist. Their famed fish and chips didn't disappoint either, the fish was plenty moist and the batter was very light and crispy. The chowder was very good too, although I'd have preferred a bit thicker in consistency. Will definitely be coming back for more in future!!

The food is really delicious. It exceeded our expectations!
We tried the fish and the chicken strips and gave both really high ratings. The potato cakes were a huge hit and I love the tartar sauce. The side salad was fresh and had a unique but good dressing. I'd say the chef knows what they're doing!
I try new restaurants on the weekends and I'm so happy to have found this gem in Renton! Can't wait to take my other kid to try it.
I tried the fish prepared by deep fry and will go back to also try it grilled as recommended. So if you're not into fried they hit the grilled option.

Oh my gosh! I needed to pick up a bookshelf at IKEA, so searched for a nearby lunch spot and found Salty Blue. I’ve lived in the Seattle area for 60+ years, and I’ve eaten a lot of fish & chips. If this isn’t the best fish & chips in Seattle, then it’s a really, really, really close second. Three things to note: 1) They don’t serve Cod, which is the standard fish & chips fish around here. Instead, their “house fish” is New Zealand Hoki. They also serve Barramundi (Australian Sea Bass) and Halibut. The young man behind the counter took the time to clearly explain the differences between the types of fish they offered and how they compared to Cod. Made our choices much easier! We ordered both the Hoki and Halibut to compare. The Hoki was very tasty! 2) They have a small selection of beer and cider on tap. The IPA d’jour during our visit was a Single Hill hazy pale. Not my favorite, but any establishment (especially one this small) that puts Single Hill beer on tap gets props from me. 3) Salty Blue is a tip-free establishment. Lunch for two was $60 (including a soda and the beer), which is a bit pricey, but when you think about what you would normally expect to pay for quality fish & chips and then add a tip, it works out to about the same. Just be aware and don’t let the price shock you. I thought the overall value was above average.

Salty Blue's rating caught my eye and I wasn't disappointed. Their house grilled fish sandwich was savory with house slaw. I tried their potato cakes, large chips with thick potato goodness. Can't wait to try more from their menu.

Perfectly seasoned and all the dishes were fresh. It’s not the cheapest fish and chips but pretty reasonable for the good quality. Plus interesting selections of beer! Everyone working there were friendly as well.

Their fish and chips were outstanding. Everything was fast, hot and crispy. I like that they have many options of fish from the Pacific. Very good people, and the service was great, especially for a restaurant where you order at the counter.

A different twist on Fish and Chips that’s for sure. Placed an order to go and it was ready super quick!

Even when we got home the food was still very fresh and crispy, especially the Potato Chips. Loved the Chowder, House Fish and Chips, Fish Burger and Potato Chips.

Will definitely be back to eat in person!

During our recent week-long stay in Seattle, we had the opportunity to sample several local restaurants. Among the highlights was a seafood spot where we tried both 'The Catch' and 'The Basket'. I have to say, their fish and chips were the best we had during our trip. The friendly and attentive staff only added to the enjoyable dining experience. If you're looking for delicious seafood and great service in Seattle, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

My wife and I recently dined at Salty Blue, and we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the establishment. The service was commendable, and while the food offerings were simple, they were delicious nonetheless. What stood out the most were the seafood dishes; the fish, calamari, and shrimps were exceptionally fresh, retaining no residual taste, which is often a concern with seafood. In summary, our experience at Salty Blue was enjoyable, marked by a tasty meal in a cozy setting.

Salty Blue is my new favorite place!
It was the only place around that has grilled fish.
It was the best fish I've tasted in a long time!
There are other good places in Renton that serve fish, but it's all fried.
I had the Barrumindi Australian Sea Bass. Three times already!
It is so good and comes with hand-cut fries.
I would definitely recommend this place. It's clean, the people are friendly, and there is outdoor seating.
Love, love, love it!

My new favorite place for fish and chips! The thin and crispy batter on the fish, nice and hot meaty fish, and the chunky crisp fries. Absolutely delicious! Huge fan of the house chowder and coleslaw!

It was our first visit & we'll definitely go back. We've been looking for good halibut & chips & Salty Blue delivered. I thought it was a bit pricy for one piece of fish until they brought my meal out. It was a large portion of perfectly cooked halibut & plenty of hot nicely seasoned chips. I also ordered the chowder to try. Full of fish & good. Not my preferred type of chowder but nonetheless good.

Best fish and chips I have. There are 4 in the group and everywhere we eat someone was trying fish and chips daily on different restaurants. These fish are the best, fresh fillet and a big piece instead of those small cut they serve on other places.

The food was amazing. Fish tacos, calamari, and fish sandwich were really fresh with delicious breading. Service was just as good. Definitely coming back here.
