Penny's Diner

Well we had a great time at Penny’s diner! We had such a good time we even bought a shirt. Jerry greeted us when we walked in. I was excited bc of the 50’s style of the place. He said we could sit wherever we wanted. Nice guy. John came by immediately and made me a special milk shake with Oreos. He knew the deserts off the top of his head and made my husband a delicious burger. Real fast too. He was so hungry from being on the road. John was so friendly and made
Our experience. Penny is lucky to have employees who enhance the experience and have pride is what they do. Thanks John for the hospitality. Us Canadians will be back!

If I could rate this diner higher, I absolutely would. Made a last minute decision to stop here and boy am I happy I did. Little did I know, nestled behind all of the bustling hubbub of a busy town is a wonderful classic diner! My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. It was not busy but that's okay, hopefully after this review more business will come in. Like stepping back in time, you have the booths and you have the seats up at the counter. Oldies music on the radio. The cook was a joy to talk to. The food was excellent. Menu had so many delicious sounding dishes it was hard to choose from. Vintage decor on the walls. Very clean. You can get italian sodas here and old fashioned milkshakes. They do have a loyalty program as well! They have a diner like this back in Pennsylvania my grandmother would take me to so the nostalgia was extra pleasant. My daughter loved the diner atmosphere as well! Definitely my new go-to spot, hands down. I can't wait to go back!

Great authentic diner food. *Adding to my original review* I went here with my husband and sons one late night we were visiting Cheyenne and just pulled into town. They all raved over the burgers, fries and onion rings. Google says they are open 24 hours, and many restaurants in Cheyenne close early, so if you are looking for great food late at night, this is definitely an option!

Penny's was the lone bright spot of my recent visit to Cheyenne. I stayed at the adjacent hotel for 2 nights during which it snowed and the reason for my visit was cancelled and I was in a lousy mood. I ended up getting food at Penny's 3 times, twice dining in in the middle of the night and mid morning and once a milkshake to go that I accidentally spilled while I was paying. I didn't get the name of the guy who made my milkshake and remade it at no charge or the front desk guy who helped me clean up the mess, but they were awesome at a time I really needed it. Ty and Steven manned the grill and served me during my 2 dine in visits and both of them were pleasant and great at their jobs, efficiently handling the restaurant mostly by themselves, but each time I was there the hotel clerk at the desk also pitched in to help and were very friendly.
The food is traditional diner fare prepared well with quality ingredients in a clean restaurant kitchen setting (unlike reviews that discussed prior problems in that area). Of course if you choose to dine there when you can see it's busy, it's likely to take a while to get your food so no point in whining about your decision. It looks like any prior issues Penny's might have had have been corrected.

We ate here twice because the food was so good and the staff is great. The diner is small which is nice If it was packed in here that would not be good. It is connected to the hotel but is its own little building. Come down here at 10 pm and get some pancakes and a burger and then wrap the burger in pancakes? If you are brave enough. Don't get grits they don't have grits but it's the north are you really surprised?

I found this place today while going on an errand. I knew it was here, but never investigated. I had my window down and could smell fresh hash browns. I had to stop. To my surprise, the young man who seated me was also the cook. I ate at the counter so I could watch him prepare the meal. He did a great job preparing my meal, the Rancher Platter. He made perfect hash browns, which is not easy to do. Then, I was interested to see how he handled over easy eggs. They were spot on along with the chicken fried steak. This is a 50's style diner with 50's music playing in the background. This is typical diner food, but it was well plated, made very well, and served with a smile and kindness. When I need breakfast comfort food, I will be back. I hope you will try Penny's and get the same service and fare that I received. And, they are open 24/7 unlike most other diners in the region.

Waiting for the car to charge & we were hungry. Found this classic diner with an outstanding breakfast cook. Had a perfect meal. Crispy hash browns, an omelette that I watched the eggs get cracked for, and sourdough toast. My buddy’s breakfast included bacon that had a touch of cinnamon. Will be back.

I loved this little diner!!!! Amazing service. The staff were very kind and welcoming! The food was amaze-balls!!! We got two shirts from them 😍😍 and I had to take a pic of the little drawing they had ♥ oh and they're burger 🤤🤤 lettuce and tomatoes were fresh! So delicious!!!

Such an amazing diner loved the ambiance of the 50s diner. Staff were super friendly and very attentive. Food was incredibly fresh and so very tasty. Portions were awesome. You don't leave hungry. Super clean staff were cleaning when not serving. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

2nd experience coming here,, and still pulling down 5 stars, great service, great food, came for dinner and was not disappointed! Just need some 50s music to complete the experience! //// 1st time experience here, but not the last. 50's experience with period advertising on the walls, great food offerings coupled with awesome service from start to finish makes for repeat visits. Came for breakfast but will make return for dinner. Worth the visit.

I adore this place! The food is delicious, I always get the all day breakfast burger. Highly recommend! The staff is ALWAYS so nice and friendly. 10/10!

Exactly what I was looking for. I was waited on by Bradley, who was exceptionally polite and prompt. I ordered the deluxe biscuits and gravy, and it was perfect. Wouldn't hesitate to stop in again.

Not sure about the other reviews. What they see as burnt is what I see as well done and exactly how I ask for my food. If its light I will send it back. Penny's diner cooked the food perfectly WELL DONE as I asked. Learn how to be specific on your food choices. The lady made my sandwich exactly the way the picture looks. It couldn't be more perfect. I almost ordered another. She was very nice and polite. I will be coming back.

The food his is awesome and not that expensive we eat 2 adults and a kid for less than 30 bucks and most of the employees try to make sure u have a good experience.

This place was great. Real 50s diner feel. The walls are covered in white bords. They let kiss draw on them.

We had a late night dinner and what a gem. We had the best burger and also breakfast. The manager gave us samples of the green chili and boy oh boy we gotta get that the next time we are out there.

We are a family of 6. We had great service. Staff was helpful. My teenagers loved their food. My husband and I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and it was amazing. 6 meals and drinks under $80. Next time we’re in town we will be back.

Doubles as the front desk for the hotel next door. But the Chicken Fried Steak was great and affordable. ($11)
