Gusto A Taste Of Rome

Don’t be fooled by the outside of the restaurant and that it is located in a strip mall. Instead, walk in and be transported back to Italy. The first thing you notice upon entering the eatery is the aroma of fresh Italian food. We spent two hours leisurely dining on Shrimp Gusto and Chicken Francese. The salad and Italian wedding soup paired with the bread were very tasty. Also, had two glasses of house cab for $12, what a deal! If you want to dine at Gusto, I suggest making reservations. Ask for the booths under the arches if your looking for something a bit more private and romantic.

We had the corner table. Nothing was lacking from walking in to leaving. Our server, Cheryl, was outstanding all around . The atmosphere was super. Not noisy because of the coziness of the place. Well staffed. Soup, salad, drinks, meals, all perfect. An extremely pleasant experience. I hope they are always this outstanding.

Came in after 1pm. Only one other person in the shop. The lunch menu was provided. Half pound meatball was delicious. Feta cheese generously added to the side. Parm cheese was melted onto the meatball. Bathed in red pasta sauce. Cook was speaking italian. Calzone was hot and caked in shredded parm. Tried the traditional with ham. Hostess/server was kind and considerate. Excellent food and atmosphere.

Found this hidden gem on Yelp on a recent visit to St. Augustine. Small-just a handful of tables, so call to reserve. The food is wonderful, the quality so much better than other restaurants in the area. Portions are large, service is personal and personable. Brought our own wine for a small corkage fee. Our two guests were from the area but had never visited. They said they would definitely return and is the kind of place they'll bring other guests from out of town. 5 stars!

Chicken Parm - unbelievably tender and well prepared.

This place is hidden gem.

And live music on Friday.

There was a small happy hour drink menu from 5-7 with house wine, beer and a handful of sweet drinks. We had calamari, egg plant parm and spaghetti amatriciana. The meals came with a salad served with a homemade dressing that was like a cheesy ranch. They serve bread with a seasoned dipping oil when you first arrive. Our server, Anton, was excellent. Everything was delicious and we will definitely return.

Went back for the couples Sunday special and the web site has the wrong price. FYI... they charge a fee to use credit.

Great little bistro, quaint atmosphere, good food, friendly service everything that most places are totally lacking these days Heather and I will most definitely be back again an again.

Updated review after several visits to this establishment i will still say that the food IMO is very good and i will continue to patronize it for that reason and that reason alone, however after my last dine in experience I’ll be taking my food to go.

My experience at this cute little Italian joint was fantastic! I loved everything about it; the drinks, the apps, and of course the entrees. A must have was the 8oz meatball, unbelievably delicious. I will 100% be back for a dinner date. I didnt not try to pizza but next time i come back i sure will!

Went here a long time ago at a different location and I was shocked to see how beautiful it was and the new building they’re in is in an amazing spot. Our sever James was incredible he went over the whole menu and even mentioned that they have live music every day but Tuesday. This was the dance floor before we ate and 40 minutes after, very lively

Had lunch, and 3 of us shared one of their pizzas. Absolutely delicious, mom and I had a glass of wine, and the total bill was less then $40.

Service was great and you can tell they remember their regulars

“Fettine Di Pollo Scarpariello”

By far one of the best meals I’ve ever had here in Saint Augustine. This restaurant is very cozy, but most important the food and service are excellent.

I definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back.

For Management:
I would like to make a couple observations that in my opinion would better the experience in your restaurant.

1). Change your napkins from paper to cloth.
2). Serve the bread “butter” at “room temperature”. (It’s better to spread on the bread).
3.) And last but not least, the bread portion was a bit light. 😊

Absolutely fantastic!!

Came here for mothers day and it was so good. It was perfect from drinks to entrees. They also serve pizza but i didnt get to try. I will certainly comeback to try.

Traci our waitress was awesome! Being an Italian from NJ, NY area, we were looking for great food, we found it here! Atmosphere is great, coming back Friday. Met with the owner Tonino, very happy we stopped in for dinner. Great place to eat, drink, and listen to music. Bella serata di Gusto! Grazie mille!

We have been to this amazing restaurant several times and it never disappoints. We've had their Mediterranean pizza, lasagna. I love Italian food and everything they make is incredible. It's a cozy spot and we'll be back again!

Amazing food! We’ve eaten so many dishes from here and love every one of them! The pizza is phenomenal, prosciutto and arugula or sausage, mushroom, onion are our favorites!! The gnocchi is also a win win!

Excellent pasta bolognese and Osoo Busco. Ask for Antonio who comes from Roma and makes authentic freshly made Italian dishes. A gem and a perfect fine dining option. Portions are very reasonable and a good value for the money you pay. Grazie

This is the best Italian Restaurant in our area... delicious food, great and friendly service. If you like Italian food, this is the place to go! I highly recommend it.

Always feel like family when I dine at the famous Gusto's of Jax! The 904 is lucky to have such an authentic Italian place to have a pallet pleasing experience. I've been coming here for over seven years solo, in groups, special occasions and it never disappoints. From pesce pasta dishes, to the napoli style pizza, the must have meatball antipasti, not to mention the wine choices - molto bene.

Huge portions, wonderful staff, many of my family members who are residents eat here weekly.

First night in Jacksonville for the @jaxarmadafc invitational and had the honor of eating @gusto and we cannot remember when service has been that good! Gloria was truly the most amazing person and I felt a part of the família!! Wow... highly recommend this place!! @matheuszinho_7677 is now carved up and ready to perform! We will be back again before we leave on Monday, that’s how good this place is! Even if you don’t get a house salad with your meal, do yourself a favor and ORDER one! The dressing is so amazing!! Everything was done scratch and you could tell because of the flavor it was all made with love!
