Sandtown Park

The park offers ample shade and numerous picnic tables, making it a comfortable spot for a day out. It features a playground that caters well to children from toddlers to pre-teens. Conveniently, there are restrooms equipped with hand dryers, though they lack mirrors.

Each year, for at least the past two years, the park has been the venue for the Scottish Festival. This event is free to attend, though donations are encouraged to support the games, and sponsorship opportunities are available. Visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of food from numerous trucks that populate the festival.

Sandtown Park is where we go when we need alot of space to play football. We like that there is a fun playground for the younger ones to use at the same time. There is a pavilion to offer shade with a picnic table, trash cans and restaurants. 👍

We had a soccer game there and it was fun. The big trees make for amazing amounts of shade. The backdrop is incredible.

Went to the strong man competition tonight and had an amazing time! The park is beautiful and great for events! The kids loved the playground while we watched the events!

Had a great time here. Went to the Scottish festival and had a great time. Amazing magic show & lots of things for kids to do. Strong man competition and iconic kilts were really cool. There was a bagpipe parade thing before I left. All in all lots of fun, a good view with plenty of area for kids to play, and shady grass spots for a picnic. Will come again soon!

This park has all the playground equipment for kids of the younger ages to play for hours. Great baseball field and has both a bathroom that's clean and a water fountain that actually works

I like this park because it is a very peaceful & pleasant place to visit.

Great park NEW play equipment. Great for family parties and heavily used by several operations for youth and adult soccer games base ball practice. And if your luck you will occasionally see gliders land in the big open grass and then take off back into the sky.

A perfect venue for the Scottish Games. The athletic events were in the middle with the vendors all the way around. You could shop, eat and watch the games at the same time. I had a great time!

Its a great park, it has restrooms and a drinking water fountain, there's no smoking allowed as in st george most parks, you can get in trouble with the cops, theres a little area for the kids with swings and other things they can play, its a nice park

Kids soccer games on Saturdays

Sandtown Park is a wonderful area of Johannesburg. Streets are clean and safe. The shops and restaurants are wonderful. This is one of my favorite areas of Johannesburg. We spent four or five hours in Sandtown shopping and dining. We made a stop at the mall and bought a beautiful Ä American motif chess set and done other items. We ate at a wonderful, open air, Italian restaurant, and for dessert, we stopped by the Haagen Daz ice cream keosk. This is a completely different feel from downtown. This was a fun, comfortable stop in Johannesburg.

Great place for soccer games, and a nice /clean playground.. Big shade tress, and a HUGE field for kite flying, boomerang throwing, model rocket launching, etc make this a great family park

Has always been a nice place to go. Has gotten a lot more busier in the past 10 years but was enjoyable for a place to stop and let everyone stretch and run.

We like very this park and visit it frequently. It's got tons of grass, good bathrooms, a new playground,, established trees with shade, and a taco shop within walking distance 😂

Playground is nice and it does have mature shade trees. But most people go for some sort of rec league soccer or football

Easy to get to and parking was not a problem for the Scottish games
