Whitmire Animal Hospital

We were sent here as both my dogs needed health certificates to fly to another country and ti be honest we got such a good attention by everyone there, we just decided to make them our vet clinic of choice.

They performed the physical exams needed and prescribed the medication day Required by the country we will get to, so mostly flea and tick treatment and the likes. Then we went to the airport and our flight got canceled twice and we had to reschedule and had to go back to the clinic to get new certificates and they only charged us a fraction of what the original cost was as they had basically had gone through the exams already, and no follow up was needed.

Everyone was so nice to us, even my dogs loved them!

They are all of them so kind and caring of my furchildren. They are always happy to answer questions and fit me in if at all possible for things that pop up. Dr. Carpenter is the best!! I have one dog that had a very negative experience at a vet once and she just took her time and let him trust her in his own way and time. I moved over an hour a way, but I still come back "home" to Whitmire because my animals love them.

Very thorough exam. Dr. Carpenter prescribed steroids and she is doing really good. We had previously taken her to another vet on Nov. 16 and they gave her medications that didn't help. After x-rays and exam by Dr. Carpenter she felt like Dixie had a pinched nerve. Thank you for your excellent care of our fur baby. She is improving every day.

Took my new to me 1 yr old Great Dane and couldn't be happier. Staff was friendly, helpful, and treated me and ODIN awesomely!
Forgive the mess on the loveseat ... Throw everything on the loveseat to make room on the couch and well I guess I have a lot to learn but with Whitmire I'm sure ODIN will have time to teach me!

This vet honestly is the best I’ve ever been to in this country. They always go the extra mile to find what’s wrong. If you want amazing care for your pet you better go here. Don’t second guess it. Prices are extremely reasonable. All staff who work here are very kind. Vet techs are amazingly knowledgeable.

I absolutely love the team at Whitmire Animal Hospital! We have a Frenchie named Remi and they treat her with such sweet care, from Bianca at reception, to the techs and doctors in the back office. Remi was very ill with pancreatitis and has spent a lot of time off and on with Whitmire and both doctors Gholston and Dr Bassett are wonderful with her AND us. They take time to explain everything that is going on with her and follow up care until she feels better.

The staff was very helpful and the Veteran was not rushed, he listened to all our concerns. The office and exam rooms are clean. The visit was great and the price was reasonable, we have found our new clinic!

We've been taking our dogs here since we moved to the area a year ago. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We see Dr. Carpenter and love her! She is thorough and understanding. We have a elderly dog and a new puppy, and she is great with both. I highly recommend her and Whitmire Animal Hospital!

3 years ago, I had a sick kitty that I brought in. Everyone here was so nice and compassionate when he had to be put to sleep. I have brought all of my other kitties and dogs here ever since. They are all wonderful.

A few months ago I started doing research on veterinaries in my area as I was getting two puppies. I have never had a dog before so I was very excited when I read the reviews about Whitmire Animal Hospital.

What made me decide to go with Whitmire was the reviews that discussed that the doctors and staff educate you on shots/vaccines/medications but do not make you feel like you have to do. For example, there was this vaccine that is beneficially for dogs that are outside a lot especially in creeks, rivers, and lakes. After we were educated on it, we were asked "Do you think this fits your lifestyle?"

I appreciate being educated because again, I've never had a dog before. I'm learning as I go.

We got a husky, Indy, and a mini goldendoodle, Boston. Unfortunately, our first vet visit with Boston we were told she has roundworms. The doctor said it was common and made us feel at ease. Then a couple days later, I noticed Boston had a cough. I immediately called the vet and they were so flexible with my work schedule. Boston was seen that day and has an upper respiratory infection. The doctors have been so great and so patient with us. When I brought Boston in for her cough, the staff did a great job of keeping her from exposing her infection around the waiting room.

The staff is always friendly and the phone is always picked up when I call.

We woke up to our Yorkie wobbling uncontrollably. We called Whitmires, and they said they would work us in. I walked in, and they instantly put me and my fur baby in a room. The Vet came into the room in mabe 3 min. The Vet and an assistant did a thorough neurological exam and did a blood culture and a body check. They found a tick. Never would I have thought a tick would cause my dog to act this way. I thank GOD for leading me to Whitmire Animal Hospital. They were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They removed the tick and immediately started showing improvement. They gave us a print out on tick paralysis and informed us about what to expect in the next days. The Vet and staff treated our little Trixie with love and gentleness. It's been 4 hrs and she is doing phenomenal! Whitmire Animal Hospital is second to none.

We are new clients who switched to Whitmire after leaving our prior vet. Every complaint we had with the team we went to before is completely moot when it comes to the wonderful people at Whitmire. Everything from the transparency of staff members to the feeling of personal attention you feel when you walk in the door makes Whitmire a saint for us. We are more than excited to introduce our other 2 dogs to the team.

Truly one of the best practices I’ve ever been to for care our furry family members. Dr Will is clearly made to care for animals. He has a calm, soothing demeanor and puts everyone (including his patients!) at ease. I’m grateful for the referral. Highly recommend!

I had to put my dog of 18 years to sleep and Whitmire made it as easy, informative, and comforting as they could. I unexpectedly got a card in the mail from the staff a few weeks after, and it meant more to me than I could ever say. I will cherish the prints and flowers forever. ♥

Organized & helpful our kitten needed a couple inoculations & had her nails trimmed.
(She’ll learn as she matures but my leg was well scratched)

My animals have received excellent care at Whitmire Animal Hospital and I am completely comfortable with any of the doctors on staff. I appreciate that they provide an array of treatment options from conservative measures to the latest and greatest treatments. Their pharmacy prices are less expensive too. I have never felt pressured or that they were upselling me a product or service. As a multi pet owner, cost is a factor. Their staff members are friendly and compassionate too, especially Anna. She is so sweet! I highly recommend this practice.

This vet is spectacular. I temporarily relocated to Dawsonville pending my international move to the United Kingdom, I visited the clinic to secure international health certificate documents for my cat Percy. Let me start by saying the staff is so professional and nice! The practice manager Kristina was a godsend. Even though this process was long they still went above and beyond. Kristina thoughtfully researched this process and helped me with it even when there were hiccups with the airline. Doctors Bassett and Gholston are just as amazing, they gave Percy a good exam and cleared him to fly. As I await his arrival to my flat I am filled with tears of gratitude because of this wonderful clinic. I really can't thank them enough. Thank you 💕

Great vets and staff. We always leave feeling like they’re all animal people who care as much about our pets as we do.

We had an emergency last Friday with my daughter's beloved dog Shadow and we had with much heart break had the to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep. I don't have the words to express how amazing Dr Carpenter and the staff accommodated us.She took the time to check everything possible to save him. If anyone wants a vet trust me you want them to take care of your pet. It will take us awhile to get over the grief but when we do get another dog we will be going to see Dr Carpenter the Team at Whitmire Animal Hospital.
