I had a pleasant experience with Hillcrest. I requested a plot near / under a tree. When I arrived, I was met at the door and informed that a few sites had been selected for my viewing. I followed them and was given a tour. Both young ladies were very cordial and professional. They allowed me a moment to collect myself and handled the paperwork swiftly. On the day of my husband's services, everything was in place and went smoothly. I was very satisfied with the services I received and I'm going back to purchase my own plot there.

25 years ago when my grandfather died, this place was great. These days it is horrible. I tried for days to get someone when my father died, to no avail. My grandparents headstone has sunk into the ground on one end (truthfully, I think it was run over by one of their machines, as the attached vase is also bent at an angle). We requested 16 days ago that it be fixed, as this is part of our contract. I was assured no more than 2 days, and they would call. Wrong! It still is not done. I have left messages, but not gotten a return call. They give you a cell, but don't answer it, and it has no VM.

I've had enough of these people. Have had two graveside funerals there unfortunately in the past 4 months during COVID. Both times our funeral director was told by Nikki (Hillcrest Director)that chairs would be provided under the tent. They were paid for in the package of opening/closing the grave. Showed up-NO CHAIRS. FIrst time was told afterwards that they couldn't put them out due to handling & COVID. Have you heard of wiping with disinfectant? Second funeral FD related the previous bad experience and was assured that there would be 6 chairs(why 6?) out. Again, NO CHAIRS. Plus, when the family began arriving an hour before the service to view the body, the Wilbert employee(I guess he works for Wilbert as they are the subcontractor who provides tents and chairs, and maybe the lowering device?)) was still putting the lowering device together. Not exactly prepared. But no chairs again, after Nikki had assured the funeral director two days before that there would be 6 chairs there for elderly folks. In times of grief especially, how about keep your promises and do what you should be doing anyway. And it doesn't take long to wipe a chair down with disinfectant! Or just spray it down. City officials need to reevaluate this operation and make changes. PS I have to give them one star or I can't post, otherwise there would be none. I have talked with Jeff of the groundskeepers several times and he has been very helpful so the star is for him and his crew!

The person that takes care of the Hillcrest Cemetery needs is undoubtedly the rudest person on earth. Really, you would think they would have a more compassionate person there dealing with grieving people. Also incompetent.
