Calandro's Supermarket (Mid-City)

Y’all. I just moved to Baton Rouge less than a year ago and let me say I LOVE this grocery store. It’s smaller so it’s a bit more expensive that larger chains, but they carry so many local and specialty items. I found crumpets and other British items o never knew I could find here! Check them out.

Love this place. It’s giving 2012 grocery store run in Florida on a family vacation. Would love to see more Beatbox drinks available. Green Apple flavor especially

Calandro's always has such a great selection of things I need and things I want. It's always a fun trip to see the variety of chocolates, candies, and local and regional craft beers they have.

Five stars for the beer, wine, and liquor selection alone. Some of the best US breweries represented with some beers I can't even get at most bottle shops. Scotch selection is floor to ceiling, with nicer aged varieties and some bottles I thought you could only get in Scotland. You pay a small premium of course, but that's the natural trade-off for quality goods. This is my new go-to place.

Loved this location. Very clean and organized. Every one very friendly and helpful. Thank you for not accepting SNAP and fighting back against the fraud and abuse that has run rampant in Baton Rouge. Will be returning.

Great selection of wine bourbon and beer! I just picked up some old scout bourbon and a four pack of some local milk stout. Both favorites of mine. I also recommend the goats milk lotion, I can only find it here and I use it on my face because it's not oily. Great stuff. They also have all sorts of pastries and cheese. All around good local store not as big and spaced out but great options and great people.

I lived a few blocks from here for 3 years and miss it every time I head to the grocery store in Denver. Great bakery and general selection throughout the store. They don’t have every single item like the big guys, but if you enjoy cooking at home you aren’t going to have any trouble getting everything you need. Love it and miss it.

Although this place is a little pricey, they have THE BEST chicken salad in the whole wide world....perfectly seasoned with huge pecans and sweet grapes, I’m always craving it! Their king cakes are so delicious and moist I ate a whole one (strawberry cheesecake) by myself. It’s safe to say the entire deli is off the chain and everyone I encountered at this location has been very nice!

Calandro’s Supermarket is very family friendly! They have everything you need. The cooked food and salad bar is so good as well as the treats!!! Cashiers are nice and respectful!

The lady who does the wine section is super cool and nice. She always matches us with the perfect wine. Taste and price wise! But this rude old hag at the first counter today had her light ON and I walked up and she pushed a sign at me that said 'register closed' where is the customer service? Politeness?? She could have simply said 'sorry, I'm closing up here' she could have said ANYTHING! Y'all need to learn some people skills. Because I would have been wrong if I would've cursed her out, huh!?

Wonderful! Most customers in masks and all employees. Sanitizer swipes provided. Seafood counter has extremely knowledgeable people to assist you. Produce is very good. Wine selection is lost incomparable.

Calandro's on Government Street is very clean, well stocked, and is a drama free shopping experience. The employees are friendly, courteous and helpful.

Great little grocery store for a quick shopping trip. Everything is a bit pricey so I would recommend a larger store for a big shopping trip. This store will have what you need though and is just right down the road. Also they sell Bawls energy drink, so 5 stars for that alone.

One of my favorite places in Mid City. Great selection, fantastic bakery, enormous wine selection. The workers get a little pushy when it's close to closing time, but I understand wanting to go home. Other than that this place is fantastic.

This is a local supermarket and has been locally owned and operated for probably 50 years. They even allow people to have accounts. They have a great wine and liquor selection and the produce and meats are very high-quality it can be a little bit pricey but the quality is there.

I love this store! So many choices Ford French and Cajun cooking and eating as well as products not sold in other places anymore. Great place to absorb the culture of Louisiana.

Great variety of groceries. Good prices on all groceries. A very vast selection of beer, wines and alcoholic beverages.

Upon entry of this sacred market, the scent of warm cinnamon greets your nose, inviting you to follow it to the heart of the store (in my opinion), the bakery (or as I'd call it: the King-Cakery). There, you'll find pretty much any flavor of King Cake that exists, rivalling even Ambrosia with it's timeless texture and filling fillings. I LOVE this place if you don't know already, and if anyone's wondering where the oddest variety of sodas in Mid City are, look no further than the shelf by the first checkout. They also have Ramune people, RAMUNE. Hands down best market in a 5-mile radius. Enjoy!

They didn't have what I wanted so they're ordering it and introduce me to something pretty close which is very good the place is real nice been a long time since I've been there the women around there are very friendly and beautiful I'm going to come back to do my shopping Merry Christmas Calandro's and the women who love to wink
