Veteran's Memorial Park

Small cozy and tranquil place. I liked their bronze George Washington's bust and memorial dedicated to Spanish troops which captured Baton Rouge from British in 1779. Didn't like that memorial was built on top of Indian ceremonial mount. From the other side it is such a crowd of cultures -- British, Spanish, Indians all together finally became Louisianans with a pinch of Canadians and some Africans.

Absolutely fantastic time here I went on the USS Kidd and I went in all the little cubby holes superb

What an incredibly beautiful park! While I was there wedding photos were being taken as well as some other photo shoot with models. The trees are old, lush, and large and the flowers are vibrant. I would love to see it in the Summer! Absolutely stunning! A must see! My pictures don't do it justice at all! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love the experience, is a very peaceful place, a beautiful sanctuary to remember those who gave it all. I truly recommend the visit.

We stopped by this park to let the dogs get some exercise on the way to New Orleans. It was a beautiful and peaceful place to stop. Water, ducks, geese, and well maintained grounds. We also stopped again on our way back but in a different park of the park. This place is is huge! We enjoyed our second visit even more.

My favorite morning walk spot! There is a beautiful flower garden, historic buildings and artifacts, stunning views, quiet and peaceful places and my favorite is when the sun rises perfectly between the long rows of trees near the front of the park... breathtaking 😍

Terrific small park with views overlooking the lake and Capitol building. There's a directory which has spoken description of the Capitol and a few other landmarks close by.

The 1982 movie "The Toy" starring Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason was filmed in the park. Watch the movie then visit the park to see the sights in the film..

I went to Baton Rouge on vacation and visited this park and it was very nice

My boyfriend, and I take out 3 baby girls to get some sun. Beautiful, and such a wonderful place to get some fresh air and some quiet. They love the lake, the ducks, the friendly dogs that run around. They absoulustley love rolling down the hill, bellies just rolling. Chasing squirrels. They also have the best tiny climbable trees that they love to climb and sit on. Sometimes we'll go a couple times a week on a lunch date, or one every couple weeks. We just Love this place

Arsenal park is beautiful. The live oaks keep it shaded and there are always birds and other wildlife around the lake.

Lots of history and beautiful place for picnic.
