Ellen saved our kitchen renovation! We had parted ways with a contractor who completely failed and were left with literally, an empty kitchen. My wife called Ellen the next day and she promptly set up an appointment to visit. From start to finish, through design, selection of cabinetry, countertops, and a few change orders, Ellen was simply first class in every respect. She came up with clever ideas for extra storage and truly listens to what you want in the design, all while giving you options. We are extremely happy with the outcome. The kitchen is now a beautiful, functional and easy place to navigate and most importantly, enjoy!!!!

We recently remodeled a historic home built in 1930. The previous kitchen was fully gutted making way for a brand new design. Ellen designed the kitchen and we couldn't be more pleased. After finally moving to Swansboro NC full time, we knew we'd be remodeling our 1960s era kitchen. We found out about Ellen from another family member. What luck! Her design ideas, expert knowledge, and quality products helped us turn our small, very-dated kitchen into the "cook's kitchen" we'd dreamed of. She guided us through the entire design process which included several iterations of CAD drawings, an overview of product features/styles, and even local providers for accessories. It was indeed a process and as with most home renovations some delay and gotchas. It didn't matter, Ellen and her team followed through on it ALL! Is there is no room for expansion? We had all these issues. We knew what we wanted just didn't know how to get it until we called Ellen. We recently decided to renovate our kitchen, and after meeting with two cabinet companies, we chose Ellen Brotzman, the Cabinet Lady. We based our decision on her professionalism and knowledge at our first meeting, but soon realized so many more reasons to support that choice. Out of all the people who worked on our devastated house after Hurricane Florence, Ellen Brotzman, The Cabinet Lady, is the one person I would recommend without reservation. From start to finish, she was patient, professional and responsive. She worked tirelessly with us on the design, making suggestions and changing things as we weighed options. She was patient as I agonized over countertop and knob choices. And the quality of the cabinets and hardware is outstanding.

Something else I also greatly appreciated was that the subcontractors that Ellen brought in were as good at their jobs and as reliable as she was. Both the countertop installers and the cabinet installers did a great job. We only had minor issues that required return visits, but I was always able to reach Ellen on the phone, and she meticulously followed through on making sure things were taken care of.

Working with Ellen has been a pleasure. We remodeled our kitchen (full gut job), and two master bathrooms (also completely down to the studs). What set Ellen apart from everyone else was her quick response time, open and effective communication and positive attitude. She met with me on a number of occasions to hash out design plans, give me honest feedback and set realistic timelines. I would not hesitate to recommend her in any way for small or large projects. She was just great!

Knowing that we wanted to upgrade our 1980's style kitchen we hired Ellen, the Cabinet Lady, to give us some ideas of what could be achieved with the space. She was very knowledgable, professional and really got to know us and what we would require. We absolutely LOVE our new kitchen! We had a few hiccups along the way, but we worked together to accomplish our final goal. She and her crew are excellent and a pleasure to work with.

We purchased a home that required an overhaul from top to bottom. After our first meeting, we knew Ellen was a great fit for the job. We required a design for the kitchen and two bathrooms. Within days, Ellen provided drawings with product and color recommendations. The samples she provided were useful in visualizing the final look. We recently completed a full renovation to our home on Harkers Island, which turned out fantastic in large part to Ellen's design advice and wonderful product selection! She helped us turn our 44-yr-old dark and dated cottage into our dream home with full kitchen and bathroom makeovers. We were able to preserve the essence of our long-time coastal getaway, while modernizing the features and layout to make better use of the space. Her use of CAD tools made the design process seamless as we refined the project through email. She also made countless trips to the island to personally oversee each phase of the construction, which was especially comforting since our main home is +4hrs away. We've been very happy with our Koch cabinets and Silestone quartz countertops now that we've settled into the finished product! I worked with Ellen to gut and redo my kitchen in my 1930s cottage in Atlantic Beach. Ellen was enthusiastic and meticulous, and very patient as she worked through design options to help me realize my vision. Everything is of high quality and I love the finished product! Working with Ellen, The Cabinet Lady, was a great experience. We have been needing to update our kitchen for 20 years so what we did was a complete remodel; new floors, sheetrock, appliances, added sink, electrical, cabinets, lighting, everything in the space. Ellen is not just a cabinet lady, she is a knowledgable resource for the entire project. This project was done where we did the demo, plumbing, electrical and flooring and we had subcontractors install the cabinets and do the finish work. Ellen made sure everything we wanted to do would work, drawing on her vast experience. When we tried to do something that seemed OK but would end up being a problem, she gently steered us in the right direction. She pointed out potential code violations before we made them and suggested spacing considerations for a smoothly working finished space. I have waited a while to post this review because I believe for this type of review to be useful we had to live with the finished product through many meals. We have been complete with project for over a year now and have had a lot of activity in the kitchen; we are extremely happy with end result. There is not one thing we would have done differently. Most of the credit for this belongs to Ellen providing guidance along the way. Her products are nice and reasonably priced. I would recomend her to anyone. Thank You Ellen!

We cannot recommend The Cabinet Lady, Ellen Brotzman and her team, enough! From start to finish the process was professional (yet personal), creative, and friendly. Her design skill and attention to detail are truly impressive. We called her on a Friday morning and she came to our home that afternoon for a free consultation. She listened cheerfully and patiently and took notes. We loved her, so we called that evening to let her know we wanted to move forward, and she came back the next morning to take measurements. By that same afternoon she sent us plans and detailed drawings of our dream kitchen. Less than 24 hours from our first meeting we began! One of the most valuable features of our relationship with Ellen was her availability and willingness to answer (lots of) questions we had about all the decisions we had to make from finishes and hardware, to tile and counter material. It became apparent how closely she “got us” when it all came together. If she was challenged by our budget or our dated space, she didn’t let on. She rose to the occasion and exceeded every expectation we had, not only for the beauty of the design, but for the flow and functionality of our kitchen. Ellen’s quick response at every turn, use of quality products, and partnering with Blue Green Construction as a general contractor to execute her plans, made the entire journey a delight.
