Murphy River Walk

As good as it gets for a small town nature trail. The parking areas may not be super clearly labeled, but they’re easy enough to find. We parked down at the depot where there was a farmer’s market going on (Saturday). From there we walked the whole trail - took our time but didn’t take long. There’s an audio tour that’s worth listening to, river views, nature views, and a touch of history. Perfect way to spend a morning.

Riverwalk trail is awesome. Not great after a rain because it was muddy. There are several paved areas as well and several wooden paths along the way. It has a few twists and turns where you can go into town or continue along the trail. It was a great walk. Highly recommend if passing through the area. Also visit the store Blk & Wht store while there.

Very nice and peaceful. The "downtown" is right by it, but you feel like you are miles away. Not a very long walk, you can cover most of it in about 30 mins?

About 2 mile trail along the rivers around downtown Murphy. Pretty flat. Can see the river from the trail. Can get down to the river at places. Strollers with bigger wheels can navigate the trail though only small portion of the trail is paved.

I love this place so much it's a long beautiful walk that you can go in many different directions with your dogs, jogging or just for a casual stroll. The best part is if you have one of those QR scanners as you approach different sections you can the WR box and it tells you the history every spot your at and and about how Murphy and the river walk came to be! We love it and walk it quite often. Make sure you bring bread for the 🦆

More of an urban hike but great views of the river. It was a well groomed trail and the people of Murphy, NC should be proud of how well kept this beautiful trail is. They also offer a QR code that you can scan with your phone to get an audio tour. Also, the location is great because after working up an appetite on the trail, the city is close by with plenty of places to grab a quick meal.

The Murphy Riverwalk is a combination of boardwalks and trails along the TWO rivers that converge in Murphy. It is maintained by volunteers and includes an audio tour accessed on your phone. Beautiful, historic, well worth the time. Don't miss the Leech Place.

I am so in love with this river walk! I have pretty much walked the entire thing and would give anything to have something like that near where I live. These are some of the pictures I took from my walk.

Beautiful handicapped accessible trail with smartphone audio trail guides. The Fisherman's Loop offers great bird viewing.

Great little place to walk or run . Trail is a mix of grass, paving, gravel, wood mulch.

This is a beautiful park that runs along the Hiawassee River. Lots of benches so you can stop and take a rest, or take pictures, or whatever. A beautiful hidden gym in the town of Murphy.

We walked the river walk and it DOWNPOURED on us 😆😆 it was massive raindrops. We got to the tail of leach plaque and read it out loud. It was very ominous.

Truly before the rain it was a lovely hike. They are doing really cute things in this park . I can imagin fishing with my kids and our friends can easily hang out in alot of the places and just gather. It's a cute park.

A beatiful place to walk along the river. Plenty of places in Murphy to eat. Even an ice cream shop!

It's beautiful place to walk or run. You can even cut up into town and look around the shops and get a cup of coffee.

We always love going for walks and playing at the park

Beautiful paved walkways, good parking, good play areas for softball, benches to sit on, swings for the elderly to swing on while watching the river flow down. The geese were ducking down over the waters while honking on their way. The one way road goes completely around to connect with the town again. Beautiful afternoon for a picnic, lease required for dog walking, baggy stations throughout to pick up and a GREAT place for a relaxed afternoon. We'll go back!

Great place for a walk or a trail run.

Good for a regular walk every now and then, dog friendly, and it's right next to the recreation center.
