Catfish Cove

This restaurant is excellent if you are in the mood for seafood!!! They have an excellent selection of it on the menu!!! The best part is they are very reasonably priced!!! I had the all-you-can-eat special number three!!! It included deviled crab, popcorn shrimp, clam strips, and catfish on the bone!!! Reorders were very prompt! The deviled crab stood out as probably the best that they had! It truly was excellent!!! The shrimp was really good as well!!! Clam strips and catfish were good but not a standout! Would definitely order the same plate in the future! The value is outstanding though!

Hadn’t been to a fish camp in years. This exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

Large, sparsely decorated open room? Check.

Folding tables? Check.

A menu where everything is fried? Check.

Cash only, pay at the register? Check.

Average customer 65+? Check.

A big row of nostalgic candy by the register? Check.

It was perfect. Waitress was attentive, fried pickles were the best I’ve ever had, and the bone-in salt&pepper catfish was the highlight of the meal. VERY affordably priced and portions were huge. And apparently, if you somehow eat it all, they’ll bring you more.

We will certainly be back.

The food was great. Lots of selection even without the salad bar. Got a combination of perch and catfish. So meaty and fried golden brown and delish. Also ordered the clam chowder and extra slaw.

My first visit since I was staying with a friend. I live out of town but will visit again when I'm back. Great wait staff.

Very good food hushpuppies were great loved everything but the oion rings too hard and crunchy but if you want good fish a good place to eat I recommend this restaurant and they give you plenty you will get full

Lightly breaded catfish fillets melt in your mouth. The jumbo shrimp are delicious. The fried oysters are the best, but I wish they would put more of them on the seafood platter. Although the reorder on oysters was hot and fresh out of the fryer. The whole catfish were great, but bigger ones would be much better as well as the flounder fillets. I believe my flounder fillets were the skinny bottom white side instead of the thick top side of the flounder. It makes a huge difference which side of the flounder they serve. The thicker top side is much more moist and tasty than the white skin fillets, which are much cheaper. This is, of course, why seafood restaurants serve the thin, dry, chewy bottom side of the flounder this gives them more bang for their buck. All said, we will definitely be back at Catfish Cove in the near future and bring my entire family next time. The service was great, and everyone was really friendly. Next time, we're ordering catfish fillets, jumbo shrimp, and fried oysters on a 3-item combo platter.

I have been passing by this place for years and have always wanted to stop by and try it out. We did and it was really good and I hate I have been missing this treat for some time now. We will definitely be back when we pass this way again soon. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Portions were impressive and the price was right as well. Keep up the great work and we will return soon.

Fish was phenomenal! It was the best fish I’ve had in a long time. I’ll be sure to visit every time I’m in the area. Classic fish camp with delicious food.

Great food, great price! Coming in they ask us to be patient that they were a little understaffed. They handled it like pros!! The food arrived at our table pretty quick and the the wait staff was very attentive. Fantastic dining experience!

Best seafood in Gaston County and Sunday buffet!

Always very generous portions. The fried pickle side order was large enough for the whole table. We always enjoy the food. The wait staff however could take some lessons on being a little more gregarious. Most of them always seem sullen.

Best Perch we have found! Good Southern fish camp and we enjoy every time we eat there!

Fun, classic fish camp. Great people. Tasty food with ridiculously large portions. You will leave here stuffed. You will have enjoyed everything on your plate. My kids can attest to the idea that everything is better fried.

I love this seafood restaurant. My family met here for some great dinners. Its your basic flounder, oysters, and green shrimp, buts its great! Not fancy, but perfect for getting the seafood you want, cooked just right, and served with a smile. My dad loves going here when I was in town, sometimes we would go twice in a week for the oysters and green shrimp. Highly recommend!
