Bethany Medical at University Parkway

I was hesitant due to the many negative reviews but I actually had a really good experience. I walked in with no appt and they were able to get me in. Wait time wasn’t even that bad compared to other places I’ve been for walk-ins. The receptionists were pleasant and helpful. The electronic check in was easy and clear and I liked that I was able to even pay my copay with the device. The nurses were friendly and I had no issues with my meds being sent to my pharmacy. Overall a good experience and I would return.

This Review is concerning Lauren Tesner Beaver… I have been hesitant in the past to go however, my first doctor with this team of amazing doctors working all as one unit together, for the best interest of their patients made it, so I was able to feel more at ease and trusting the referral to Lauren B… at the suggestion of Rae Abshe…. and in trusting Rae Absher I am now in a better place, physically, and mentally than I have been in more years than I can count I’m not saying that every doctor that works for Bethany medical is not equally as amazing as the two. I’m writing this review about. However, I can speak first hand about these two wonderfully beautifully amazing doctors and the nurses that work for them and with them I’ve been a patient of both and being very “picky, hesitant, and trusting of doctors overall. I can say with 100% confidence without question or doubt or hesitation that choosing Bethany medical and especially Lauren beaver and Ray Lynn Absher that it is the best decision, and not only medically speaking, I have been given back “my life and quality of life” that I had been only “surviving each and every day every second and every moment of every day of my life” and did not even realize the physical pain and suffering, and mental pain, and suffering that I was having to endure at the hand of inferior doctors from other facilities, who treated me as if I was only a quote number or insurance tag” Bethany medical as a whole from sign in at the front desk until I walk out the door and even if I have a random question at any given time, the entire team work together as a very well “oiled machine” who all work together for the best of each patient individually so I’m not only speaking for myself I can speak for other patients that I have seen going in to visit and coming out of a visit in the difference on their face the difference on that patients “demeanor“ or how they carry themselves. I have also witnessed firsthand these doctors and employees dealing with their own “life issues whether it be personal or possibly medical” I’m not sure, but I will say everything is always always handled with the upmost, professionalism, care and treatment, as if I was one of their own family members as if I was their own mother, sister, or friend never have I felt judged or looked down upon for having medical issues that are not my choice my fault, or that I would wish upon my worst enemy. I normally would not be so public with such private information as to who my doctors or doctor is, however, I will always give credit where credit is due and Bethany medical and most definitely individually my two doctors are the best thing that could’ve happened for me. They have not only giving me my life back. They’ve given me the ability to be the best mother and wife that I can be and that I used to be and giving me a sense of pride and strength back in myself. But I had lost slashed allowed to be taken from me by other doctors that are not affiliated with us facility.. they do take patients from out of town as I am one of them, and they could both go to two different ends of the Earth, and I would still travel only to see these two doctors!!!!!
PERIOD!!!! They truly listen to you as a patient and understand each of their patients individual needs as well as situation, the nurses that work with them have all been very friendly knowledgeable, and mostly trust worthy with my private pertinent information. These things are very very important to myself as a patient and as far as I’m concerned, there’s only one doctor on the face of this earth that I could compare them to. And that happens to be my father. I hope that speaks volumes and explains the trust and belief, without hesitation and my two doctors. (on one occasion I was asked if I wanted to “see a different provider“ when scheduling my next visit because my regular provider would not be available and I said “no I will wait on mine to be available on a different day.”)
I CANNOT THINK THE TEAM AT BETHANY MEDICAL CENTER AT NORTH WILKESBORO AND ALSO IN WINSTON-SALEM ENOUGH!!

If you are tired of Doctor's and medical personnel treating you as if you are just a number and herding you in and out like cattle. I suggest you consider Bethany Medical. These people, all of them, from the check in, nurse prep, to the doctor all have that genuine kindness. They are very compassionate about your care, your needs, and take the time required to get to know you. They are not only your medical provider but in a few short visits you become family.

Being 7 is perfection, I'd give them 7 stars if I could!

The front desk staff was cheerful, knowledgeable and quick to get me checked in. I had a slight problem with the assessment on tablet. However, a nurse came to my aid and was soon back on track.
Lauren was great. Caring and listened to what I wanted. Together we made a plan to get results that we both want to see. It feels like I have a team on my side!

My mom is a patient at this clinic. She is always treated kindly and they actually listen to her concerns and assist her in any way they can. I attend most appointments with her and Dr. Cody is great obtaining routine blood work and has been able to treat several vitamin deficiencies we didn’t even know she had. I would recommend this practice to anyone who has a parent that they care about or for themselves if they want to be heard by a doctor.

I started seeing Dr Cody Myrick at Bethany Medical about 2.5 years ago. Within a year, I had switched my primary to be Dr Myrick, and I have also started using a therapist through Bethany, as well as my gyno and neurologist.

Bethany Medicals practice seems to be a bit loose... Ie - I've had appointments canceled on me last minute and rescheduled for weeks out, and I've had my doctor not get messages I've left. Their online portal MyHealth is wonky at best. I can view my test results, but I am unable to send messages via the system.

But the doctors... The doctors are AMAZING!! Dr Myrick was the first doctor here in NC to take my spinal pain serious, even though I have documented issues with it going back over a decade. He was the only doctor to care about my quality of life and not just a paycheck. If something wasn't working for me, he wasted no time in trying something new.

He was always honest with me, never treated me like I was dumb or "less than", and he helped me understand the things I couldn't grasp. He really takes the time to ensure you fully grasp what's going on with your heath before moving on to the next patient. He always has a smile on his face and greets you with a "hello, how have you been?"

Bethany medical has earned the right to handle all of my medical needs until I'm no longer in the area! I have been waiting over a decade to find a doctor I liked again, and I'm so glad I found that in Dr Myrick.

The 1st I walked in the door . I was greeted by amber , her personality, and concerns of my medical need . She went above and beyond her job duties I believe . I had a cist on.my upper left back shoulder pain . That was deeply infected and I was in a lot of pain. They was busy as can be after she see. The bulge on my shoulder she ask me to wait a min
She left her desk for a few moments and came back ask said the doctor could see me within an hour. I was so great full that she did that for ,and ever since I been going there and she is one of the main reason I continue to be a patient, she has a big heart and puts ur patients first. And you can truly see she is passionate and so much care for her or Bethany patients . I believe she deserves a pay on the back and be recognized for doing and showing the care she does for Bethany medical.

I used to be curled up in pain in a fetal position everyday. All I could do was cry. I felt so weak from pain. Another patient suggested Bethany Medical Pain Clinic. My regular GPs could do nothing for me. Dr Woods Cummings gave me my life back. I am not totally without pain but it is more tolerable most days and I feel human again. I am not on strong pain medicine but on the right medicine for me. I can stand straight again. Thank you Dr Woods Cummings, thank you Bethany Medical. Respecfully, Daria Stanfield

I had seen 6 doctors in town for my mental health. I was disappointed by their arrogance and lack of empathy.
2 years ago I thought I Would try Bethany Medical on University.
There I met mental health specialist
Lauren Tessnerr, FNP-C. She listened to me and understood my issues.
She made changes to my meds and
I have made some improvements. Empathy, care and knowledge is what it takes to help someone who is hopeless.
I feel she really cares and understands. Lauren is a great asset for Bethany and I HIGHLY recommend her. 👍

Unfortunately, I have more than my share of pain clinic visits since 2013. I have been a patient at Bethany since 2018. I don't want to sound corny or anything, but Bethany is the epitome of what any medical facility should be. I had been going to the pain center at Kimel Forest and everyone there is super friendly and genuine. (Not a bunch of fake smiles and chit chat) Dr. Kinkaid is also very knowledgeable and empathetic
Yesterday was my first visit to the University Parkway location, simply because of the shorter drive. I was somewhat apprehensive as to whether I had made the right decision or not, but my apprehension decreased a lot upon check in. Entire staff was professional, courteous and polite. Now for my next fear, meeting my new doctor. I realize I'm getting too long- winded here, but in a nutshell, Dr. David J. exceeded my expectations. He was very thorough and spent plenty of time discussing my condition. Most impressive of all to me is the fact that he seems to be the type of person who when you first meet him, he puts you at ease, explains things well, and extremely easy to talk to.

Today, Sunday the 22nd of August, I had the opportunity to speak with a Very Friendly and Helpful Staff Member with Bethany Medical Center on University Parkway. I called the University Office to reschedule an appointment with my provider, Cody Myrick who I view as an excellent contribution to Bethany Medical Center.

When I called to reschedule, I spoke with Michelle. Michelle was Above Excellent in the manner in which she helped me. Besides just rescheduling the appointment, there were several other issues that I discussed with her and requested her assistance. She is a great listener who is patient even though she was also assisting another customer. She politely requested that I hold for a moment while she finished with the other customer and assured me that she would be right back to assist which she did with PROFESSIONALISM. She is Friendly and Knowledgeable of her employment position and is AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF HOW OTHER BETHANY EMPLOYEES SHOULD CONDUCT TELEPHONE CALLS because this is the First Impression a customer develops of a Business and May be the Only Impression. Michelle is an excellent candidate for An Office Manager position because of her ability to not only handle telephone calls with professionalism, but also the way she listens to get the COMPLETE INFORMATION from the Patient before addressing the issue. She is also Excellent in Her Knowledge and Possesses The Skill Set needed to Quickly Establish a Rapport with the patient with whom she is interacting.

After starting here for pain management, Dr. Wofford walked me through the process of coming off of pain meds (at my request.) I quickly new I’d found the best care I’d had in years with this issue. He did it in a virtually pain/suffering free way, cheered me on the whole time, and found a regimen that made me virtually pain free, for the first time in over a decade. I had my life back, at the point when I was ready to give up! He’s since moved but Arledge is just as awesome and understanding and really knows her stuff! I soon after switched my primary care AND mental health management over to Bethany (Tessner, too, is so down to earth and I am more mentally balanced than ever..seriously.) The entire staff from the front desk to Nurses to doctors to billing, have been so helpful, friendly, and understanding. Super grateful to have found this place. I really can’t thank them enough for improving the quality of my life in so many areas. It’s so hard to find this combination, much less in the same facility!! Most importantly though, I’m able to show up for my daughter in the most happy, healthy, and balanced manner possible. That’s everything! Sorry so wordy but I think it’s a story worth telling. :)

It has been almost a year since I started going to Bethany, my life has turned around for the better I'm doing things I wasn't able to do a year ago because of my doctor's working together to get me on the right medications, I could not ask for better quality of doctors and nurses. If you're looking for a place that has it all meaning I see pain management, psychiatrist, PCP, then Bethany is your place to go wonderful atmosphere and nice people!

I have been going to pain clinics for approximately 9 years now and have seen several different doctors. I am so glad to have been referred to Dr. Wofford! He is the best doctor I have ever had. He really takes the time to listen to your problems and answer all of your questions without just trying to rush you out the door. He is extremely knowledgeable in pain management and addiction and works with each patient individually to find the best solution. Plus he has a great sense of humor. I would recommend him to anyone needing help with one or both of these problems. He's the best!

I have bad days and terrible days and to be honest without Bethany I can’t describe what kind of day I would have I know that I wouldn’t be able to go to work part time. I have chronic pain in my lower back and it’s hard for me to stand up and work next to that I’ve had 2 total hips replacement and now I’m looking at my knees being replaced. Yes I’m in terrible shape but without Bethany Medical I wouldn’t be able to do anything. God I’m blessed to be a patient of the facility it keeps me going forward with making it through every day so if you’re in pain I promise you they take care of you so you can go on with your everyday life

Everyone is always so nice and helpful. Doctor is very nice. Even if you have to call for anything they are very friendly.

The staff are so considerate and have you feeling comfortable. They are never judgemental! Cody is very caring and allows you to ask questions and advice which is so reassuring. He does not rush you out of appointments. Thank you so very much for your patience and understanding. So very happy with my results.

Had my first visit at Bethany Medical at University Parkway today. This place is Top Notch. I couldn't have asked for a better medical assistant Gracie and Dr. Wofford. They were both extremely professional and understanding. Can't say enough good about these two. Thank you for making me feel like I mattered. You're both a benefit to Bethany Medical.

I am here in Rural Hall helping my daughter with childcare while she has gone back to work. Bethany Medical accepted me as a patient while I have been here to monitor and treat my hypothyroidism. I had a nasty tick bite in April, then developed cellulitis in my left elbow in May. I was seen promptly, given an accurate diagnosis, and my Rx sent to my pharmacy instantly. I highly recommend doctors Terri Wood-Cunningham at the University location and Haley McCune at Battleground location.
