We ATE here twice! Hubby had to have the prime rib Saturday night (I had the filet). Our friends were wanting a good steak Sunday night so we went back. Great salads and atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in the area.

We had the Bourbon encrusted chicken & ribs which were very tender & flavorful. Fried green tomatoes were huge & delicious. Food was hot & fresh, good service & the restaurant had an intimate cozy feel.

What a great local place. Small town feel, big town food. Had the filet and both temperature and taste were spot on

Our Anniversary Dinner at J. Arthur's Restaurant could not have been better, thanks in part to our delightful, attentive server, Stephanie. When we told her it was our anniversary dinner, she went above and beyond to make the occasion special for us, including bringing an ice cream Parfait at the end of our meal. We greatly enjoyed our entrees: Chicken Marsala and Bourbon Pecan Crusted Chicken.
I understand that the beautiful Autumn decor was provided by another local business, The Cabbage Rose, and everything was so festive!
Highly recommended and we will look forward to another visit!

My Dad would take Mama here for their anniversary about every year. She had not been back since he passed...I made reservations for us on her 89th birthday! Mama was so excited to see the sign! We were greeted and welcomed and I made sure they knew the birthday LADY! Thank YOU J Arthur's for making this such a great dinner for such a special LADY!🙌💕. Mama loved the Rainbow Trout 😍

Don't let the fact that this is one of the few "nice" places to eat in Maggie Valley make you think less of this place. The food was better than I could have imagined. The photo is the Pecan Encrusted chicken with mashed potatoes. The flavor was incredible.
Not pictured is the delicious Olde Fashioned with the right style cherries as garnish.

Warm and inviting atmosphere. Service was excellent. The award winning mozzarella sticks were good. The filet and surf n turf were both spot on choices.

Ate here Sept 2023 and Stephanie was our wonderful waitress. Was hesitant to eat here because of only 4.0 Google rating and some dated pictures. SO surprised that atmosphere was GREAT! Service outstanding and the classic food served here was done very well. Particularly enjoyed the French onion soup and all four of our meals. Cheesecake desserts good too. I assume they've recently improved all because they should be a 4.5 or higher rated restaurant.

The menu will claim award winning mozzarella sticks, I'm not sure what award they won, but I can definitely say it was well deserved. These things were massive, perfectly breaded, and the cheese was the perfect consistency. The burger I had was also equally as good with the added bacon and cheese. The Woodford old fashioned was on point. The waitress has the right about of spunk to make the whole evening the right amount of fun.

The Restaurant gives you a warm cozy vibe. The menu choices were a good variety. Our waitress Stephanie was Excellent and answered all of our questions about the menu choices on point. The French Onion soup is huge and of the best I’ve ever had. The Gorgonzola Salad was delicious with the Gorgonzola Dressing being very unique and very good. I had the Baby Back Ribs and they were great. Our experience by our party of 4 was Outstanding!

When I first got to this place it look really nice. The staff was very friendly and attentive enough that it was not a bother. The prices for this place is pretty up tight and clearly their target audience is people with a little bit more $$ in between prices. This resturant is pretty well kept and didn't get a chance to see if their bathroom is clean. Now with the food, I ordered some baby back ribs and they were fantastic. The meat just slide off the bones, good job chef, pretty rare to see that in a rural place. Overall I had a good experience and would totally recommend.

We arrived close to closing time and they welcomed us in so graciously! Our waitress Brenda K. made wonderful suggestions and took care of everything we needed and wanted. We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed this meal and atmosphere. The service and food, from the ultra fresh salad, to the best prime rib I have had in years, to the sinful dessert was 5 star. thank you!

Literally the best steak I’ve had! It’s perfectly cooked that it melts like butter in your mouth. Will be visiting this place again for sure! Visited for valentines din and the atmosphere was very good!

This restaurant was out of this world! Everyone of their staff were kind and accommodating! We were the on a busy holiday weekend and the short wait we had was absolutely worth it! I loved the setup at the bar and the coziness of the rest of the dining area, we will definitely visit again next time we are in Maggie Valley!

We had a Birthday dinner here and he was treated like royalty! Even put a birthday wish on their sign. Only bummer was I didn't realize they only had prime rib on Friday and Saturday. So we all had the Ribeye instead which was awesome!

I don’t understand why the rating on this place isn’t higher! We ate there tonight and it was amazing!!! The fried shrimp was better than what I’ve had in Florida! My husband who used to be a Chef, got Chicken Marsala and it said it was wonderful as well! I had a cosmo and husband had Merlot! Both were great. Loved our Waiter (Dennis?) he was so kind and prompt! Everything was just awesome. Desserts looked great but we were stuffed. May stop there tomorrow for cheesecake!

Our server was very nice, food was good - tho on the pricey side.

J Arthurs never disappoints. Food is always delicious. We have gone twice during the holiday season and the decorations are absolutely beautiful. Cabbage Rose helps with this. When I saw the Christmas tree I said “It’s even as beautiful as the Biltmore tree. They did an awesome job.
