Benny's Italian Mexican Restaurant

Food is absolutely delicious. Service was absolutely impeccable. Would tell anyone to stop and try it. We love little ma and pop places like these when we travel, some of the best food is served at these places. We’re from Michigan.

I cannot remember ever having chicken fried chicken this good. I took 1 bite just to see and did not stop until it was gone. The crazy thing is that I was not even hungry. I was sad and wanted comfort food. The waitress Joy was such a Blessing. She had the whole place hopping and everyone acting like old friends even though no one had ever met. I literally ate the whole thing before getting a picture. You will just have to let my empty plate speak for itself.
On my next visit I made sure to get pictures before tasting. Did I mention the gravy? If you love gravy, and I do, you will love it.

I'd have to admit I was rather caught off guard with this place. The three in one home cooking, Italian and Mexican menu differently can be a little overpowering with so many items to choose from, but I'd have to admit this place was a great place to eat. Outdoor dining, great service and delicious food! I reccomend you try it and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

My wife and I shared the fried mushrooms they were perfect very delicious I had two subs a meatball sub and a sausage sub parmesan both are delicious ate half and save half. My wife had the tortellini Michelangelo was just wonderful great place down home very comfy very good service if you're near Alvarado Texas please stop and say hi to these good people some great food they cook Italian Mexican and Country Texan cooking.

This place is quite awesome! Our first visit was excellent! We chit chat with the owner, we asked descriptions on specific menus because our waitress was new, she couldnt explain it to us! So we just ordered what sounded good and it was very tasty! Definitely made homemade! We shall return!

Amazing Tortellini Michelangelo. This place has great Italian dishes. Homemade bread awesome! Can't address the Mexican fare. Wait staff was friendly, quick, and helpful.
Prices very reasonable.

Really loved the service and the food! The bread was pretty dang good toon only tried the Italian food since the server really recommended that! The chicken Comora? Something like that! Was really good!

So glad to find a restaurant with vegetarian options! Salsa is delicious, very attentive servers, down-home atmosphere. Anyplace you get served warm bread AND chips & salsa before your meal is a winner in my book

I was expecting to see someone but they did not show. All I had was a glass of water..
But several yrs ago my late husband and l did fine in and eat there . What l can reamber the food was very good and the service was good . I will how ever this coming up pay day will make another trip to go and done in.. Because he really gives you a hearty amount of food.

Husband and I's favorite spot for date night! BEST, most flavorful spaghetti and meat-sauce I've ever had, and the Fettuccine is next level creamy! My husband gets the loaded nachos, and says they're amazing! The owner is so sweet too. Staff is the so dedicated, hardworking, and down to earth. Also, the menu is OBVIOUSLY super diverse and fun! I've never seen a small business restaurant that serves Mexican, Italian, and American food all so proudly and well done! Each dish is made with love. You can tell. It's a hidden treasure in Alvarado, TX!

This place is not just top-notch, it is superb!! The choices you get are outstanding! Not only do you get a taste of Mexican food and Italian food, but they also offer down-home Texas style food as well. A+++ & I WILL be returning soon!

Regardless of the implications of the Y2K plate my meal was served on, this may not be a Michelin Star restaurant, but the food and service from this locally owned establishment is Michelin Star worthy!

Came here for our wedding dinner, I had the tortellini Michelangelo, magnificent. My compliments to the chef *mwauh* I wish I remembered our waitresses name, but she helped make the experience unforgettable and unique. She was helpful and prompt, plus she gave us cheese cake to help celebrate. I will definitely be back, and if you are pondering coming here, please stop pondering, and give it a try. Yesterday.

We're from out of town and decided to stop for lunch on our way through. I'm so glad we did. The menu has dizzying variety, but everything we had was done exceptionally well. It all tasted fresh and home cooked. The service was great and friendly too. Thanks for a great start to our vacation Benny's!

We were in town for a couple nights and ate here both nights. The pot roast is wonderful! Husband had shrimp. He said it was great. The wait staff were very attentive but not interfering with your meal. Love this place. Sorry we live in another state.
