These apartments are gorgeous! I love the spacious floor plan and they are beautiful. From the gorgeous kitchen to the high end washer and dryer, right in the closet! I am in love! The location could not be better, right here in Bountiful! The common area is so nice and even though there's a gym, there's also a Vasa right across the street. Perfect.

The apartment has been fantastic! Love the layout of the apartment, and you can't beat the location. Parking is easy, and the neighbors are very kind.

Sunset views are incredible out on the balconies facing west! Spendy rent though, must be because it's in Bountiful.

After working in property management for years myself, I am very surprised by the high rating at Renaissance Place; where I have lived for three years. Other residents are correct in saying the apartments “look” amazing, but it is all surface level. The functionality of the apartments, common spaces, and management are terrible. Currently, the internet has been out for days. No word from management at all about the issue, let alone an estimate of when it will be fixed. A couple months ago the payment system was switched without notice, changing the service fee and functionality on the 1st of the month. Before that, the garage gate trapped vehicles inside, or wouldn’t close, depending on the day. The elevator has gone down for weeks at a time, more than once. And that doesn’t even cover the interior of the apartments: inefficient AC wall units, extremely hard water, cheap fixtures, I could go on. If a pretty apartment is what you are looking for Renaissance works, if you want to enjoy or even love your home, this place isn’t it.

All was good till about 2 months ago I got a new phone and haven’t gained my pdk access for my garage back you pay for the garage and for the “technology package” I have sent multiple emails and text as well. You get a new property manager every 3-6 months as well so good luck with anything that requires follow up. Also they changed all the billing systems I used to get bills through bountiful light and power. Now I have a new utility biller that says I don’t have an account when I try to log in and as I am moving out soon I would like to make sure the electric isn’t in my name when I move out but here we are because the property management of this complex is literally unfit to do the job. That may also be the reason no one stays here and works this place please don’t move in here not worth it.

I really didn't want to write this review, but I've never dealt with a more incompetent property management team in my entire rental life than this place.

I lived here for 2.5 years, first ones in our unit when it was built, and I should have heed the red flags when we were first moving in and just looked elsewhere. The week before moving in the property manager quit and ghosted us, and we could not get ahold of anyone from the property management company until literally 2 days before our move in date which we moved cross country for.

We were DRASTICALLY underquoted for utilities. Go ahead and add $300-400 to whatever your "base rent" is before the insane amount of fees they charge for this place, as well as pushing all their costs onto their residents. I could understand if we were getting amenities, but the "gym" they offer is a closet, there is no pool, the propane tanks are nearly always empty for the grills, and you have to pay to reserve your own clubhouse that no one uses.

I will say I never had an issue with the maintenance staff, so kudos to them. But the secure garage gates and elevator have failed so many times during our time here that it was comical. There was even times when the garage would fail in the middle of the night and I could not get my car out of it to go to work the next morning.

This was all small in comparison to trying to leave this place. I could not get the property manager to answer the phone or even acknowledge my attempt to move out. I put in my vacate notice, and did not hear anything until I reached out to them to ask if there was something I needed to be doing. They didn't even know I was leaving. I had to hound them to get any sort of move-out instructions, which I never received. I called every day for 2 weeks straight before leaving to ask for move-out instructions. Left voicemails, called their parent company, emailed, and heard absolutely nothing. Ultimately I moved out and left my keys on the counter and was out of the the place for a week before they finally answered the phone.

This was 2 months ago, and they are still posting charges to my account like I live there still despite telling me my "deposit is in the mail" twice (is it actually?) and me living in a completely separate state.

Stay aware from this place at all costs. I've never experienced a more poorly ran business, and at this point it's honestly kind of hilarious how bad these people are at managing the property. I honestly don't think you could even move in here if you wanted to since they work maybe one day a month on site, and never answer the phones.

What appears relatively nice from a quick glance on the outside and a tour of a unit or two is hiding poor upkeep, poor management, and poor construction. I have lived here for near three years now and the situation has only gotten worse over time.

First and foremost, management is impossible to get a hold of. Their office hours are scarce to nonexistent, and they are bad at answering phone calls. They will intentionally ignore your calls--try calling from an alternative phone line, i.e. a work phone. Communication overall is INCREDIBLY poor. There is little to no email communication about anything, messages left on their phone line aren't returned.

For example, the internet has been out for over 72 hours. Calling the apartment's internet provider you get told it is CenturyLink and they're working on it, you need to contact them. Contact CenturyLink, and they'll tell you to contact your apartment, who is unreachable. When I first moved in, amenities touted consistently onsite management.

Maintenance has been mostly fine, but general repairs--like a broken, beeping elevator--may take a week or more to get handled, and they will be recurrent.

Poor upkeep. Trash valet is at least consistent, and the hallways tend to be cleanish, but areas like the mail room tend to get gross fast--with the trash seeming to sit for extended periods of time. Poor follow-through/reprimanding when residents are gross/unsanitary, i.e. not cleaning up when their dog goes to the bathroom in commons areas or in the carpeted hallways. I imagine it could be worse, they do at least seem to get carpets vacuumed roughly once a week and steam cleaned maybe once a month. Snow removal is lacking.

The construction--while not necessarily management's fault--is something to keep in mind. The caulking in the shower is poor and will flake off constantly, plumbing is poor, floorboards have dips or bulges underneath, paint is cracking, there's paint on the floor from construction workers. The water quality is incredibly hard, whether that's the apartment's system or Bountiful itself is unknown. Hope and pray your neighbors are quiet ones, because you'll be able to hear most anything. The noise dampening is nonexistent and the quiet hours are rarely enforced--given that management isn't really active.

Overall this property had and HAS so much potential, but is let down by poor management who do not care to see the community grow, thrive, or improve.

Lived here for two years. Loved the apartment. However the leasing office and maintenance has exceptionally slow response.

First of all, we’ve been living here for almost a year and love the maintenance service and custodians.
However, the soundproof is horrible especially the noises from upstairs. We’ve reported it to the property owner so many times but haven’t seen the improvements since October 2022 and it’s been almost half a year. We are sad because we loved this place when we just moved in but not anymore.

It's very pretty, but disorganized and lots of technical issues. I'm sure they'll streamline it as time goes, but for now it's not worth the hefty price. The elevator was out for weeks and we live on the 4th floor. The water smells bad. There's some musty odors from the bathroom. Management is a bit hard to reach. Elevator is verrrry unreliable. Hope things get better. A lot of us tenants are disappointed and have discussed these issues at length.

***

Edit: almost a full year here! It was actually so much worse than I thought. Weird smells, thin walls, air conditioning units that don't work well, the "gym" is a broom closet, and the owner (shout out to you, sir) likes to tow vehicles without checking if they belong to residents and make up BS claims as to the reason why. I don't blame management. There's only so much you can do with what you've got.
