Our first visit to the area and we made sure to visit this historic establishment. The ladies working were having a great time and walked us through our ordering options. The communal seating looked like a fun time, but we were a little early for the lunch rush. Really enjoyed it and plan to make our way back there!

Great locals place that really knows the Hot Links game. First Timer and was treated great by super nice lady who let me try one and then got me some killer chili that was superb also. Other local patrons were super nice too...do not skip this place... Gilmer's finest! Even got me some frozen to gobble up later...it's that good

At the time of this review, I was preoccupied so I didn't get a chance to write anything.

This is ABSOUTLY the BEST Hot Links I have had, they are all BEEF which is unique! We come through when we are working in Texarkana headed back to tyler all the time. The staff is VERY friendly, its almost like you have known them all of your life lol.

well great, Im craving their links now LOL

A staple of East Texas that never disappoints even after being in business for 52 years. I have been going there for years. As a kid with my Dad and as an adult in my own. The original hot link is excellent. Be sure to try to the Jalepeno link as well.

Original and Jalapeño Hot links are made there on site daily. You can order them up ready to eat there with all the traditional sides. Saltine crackers, orange cheese, jalapeños, white bread and their house hot sauce. I typically order them raw freeze them and smoke them myself. Definitely a local delicacy that I’m unable to experience where I currently live. It stands to reason why hot links are known as East Texas Caviar and Doc’s makes them the best.

Doc’s links are the best links around. Enjoyed Dos’s links as a boy growing up and nothing has changed. Still the best! Awesome hometown atmosphere and fresh links with crackers, ketchup and hot sauce. Just don’t get much better! 👍

This post is a long overdue. I have been a fan of this place since I was a kid and recently was coming through town a little later than expected so I called and spoke to the owner of the restaurant, and she made special arrangements for me to receive my hot links. This is what small-town America is about, customer service is still very much alive at this place. Even though the ownership has changed over the years, the quality hasn’t, from top to bottom I feel like it’s still the same place that I walked in to many years ago. Thank you Doc’s for staying the same in this crazy world we live in

My parents Willie and Mary Ford just got back from Gilmer and they sent two dozen Hot Links to me here in Greensboro NC. They are great and now, I'm going to try the Chili. Thanks Doc!!! I'll be putting me in a big order soon. BTW, you gotta have the crackers and hot sauce with these. Bangin'.

How on earth have I not reviewed Doc’s yet? This place is an East Texas legend, an absolute staple! Iconic hot links, you won’t find links like these anywhere! They’ve recently added jalapeño cheddar links and boudin to their menu as well! There’s just no substitute for a trip to docs! Get yourself a grape or orange soda or a big red, a jalapeño, a slice of cheese, a slice of onion, a small cup of their chili, and 4-5 links and you’ll be set!!

Doc's is one of the few places to get authentic East Texas (Pittsburg) style hot links. This is the real deal folks. These are hot links like no other. Go to Doc's, pull up a seat, unwrap a saltine cracker and dig in. Don't forget the chili on top. Wash it down with a Grapette. You won't be sorry.

I love this place. Small. But great food and very nice people working there. My favorite is the jalapeño pepper jack.

Oh my goodness. We've lived in this area for a decade but just tried these links for the first time. I didn't know what I was missing. We had been watching Texas Country Reporter re-runs on YouTube and one came on for Doc's. They looked so good, we decided to go into town and give them a try. I've never tasted links like these in my life. Melt in your mouth tenderness that was a very pleasant surprise. Most links I've ever had have been tough to chew, but not these. Also, they have beans and potato salad that are very good. Needless to say we are now fans and will be going back. If you haven't tried them then do yourself a favor and do so. Definitely recommend.

Needed to get to them for a cancer free party and was not possible to do before they closed, but the two girls that worked there stayed for me after work so I could pick up the order.. just above and beyond what no one has to do and I appreciate those ladies for their act of compassion more than I can show. The links are fabulous and employees are top notch ! I would recommend them any day!

If I could give 10 stars, I WOULD!! I drive about 65 miles each way to get my Doc's Hot Links!! The original FAMOUS Hot Link was probably one of my first solid foods. 🤣 And they have been mine and my father's favorite for over 40 years for me, closer to 60 years of unbeatable links for my dad. The only thing I would change is, well, NOTHING!!!! I love Doc's!!!
