Big Daddy's Grill & Bar

This place definitely goes unnoticed for the experience. I myself am guilty of judging a book by it's character. I attended a meeting at Big Daddys. When I arrived at the location I thought it was a mistake. I judged the outside location of this restaurant without ever stepping foot in it. If it wasn't for that meeting I would've never known what I was missing out on. I heard from customers while inside the establishment how some have been coming to Bid Daddys since they were kids. I heard another ordering three dozen hush puppies to go and this is after their meal. I couldn't stay long enough to eat. I did go back with the husband and folks this place is one of them places that you remember being in as a kid.. it gives such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff not only very polite.. but you can see they love this place . When you see that people working somewhere are connected it's no longer just a job they're family. The Food was absolutely amazing...I ate more then my Share of banana pudding... guys it wasn't like they threw that together...it honestly reminded me of my grandmother's. If you haven't been here you should .... even if it's to have a beer with some friends at the bar area..I spent a good 30 min just walking around looking at all the timeless pieces on the walls. These guys are definitely go unnoticed. If you support small businesses and definitely ones that have been holding on 30 years+ you owe it to yourself to give them a gander.

Great place for lunch. Excellent catfish and fries and coleslaw had a great flavor. Waitress checked on us often!!

Tried this place with the hopes that it remained me of the way I used to eat growing up. Didn't disappoint at all! OMG the fried catfish was sooo super tender! Nice batter not too thick....I loved it. Great meal, I wish I lived here just for this restaurant. Please consider opening one up in San Antonio. Rose was super sweet and gave great service. Thank you to y'all for a great meal away from home.

It is rare in this city at current time to get good service, let alone great service. I have eaten here multiple times recently. Each time I was a Met with the most courteous and friendliest waitress and staff. I haven’t seen in this town in quite sometime. On top of that the food was more than expected. I had the fish dinner. And the last time I was in I had one piece that did not meet my desired specifications. I brought it to my waitress attention. And she was more than happy to take care of the situation. I would recommend anyone looking for a great meal in an extremely relaxing atmosphere, to give this place a shot.

I had a fantastic experience when I visited during a quiet time. The server was exceptionally friendly and assisted me in selecting their lunch special, which was catfish. The homemade tartar sauce was excellent. I would have taken photos, but I was too hungry and forgot.

Excellent service from Matthew! Party of 11 with no problem. Food was great too. Will be back for sure.

Great food. Service is lacking. Had lunch with Mom and Dad. It was nice.

Now this is a good old down to earth family place to eat at. The food is great along with the prices. The staff is so nice and always comes by to see if they can get you anything else. The place is clean and so are the restrooms. I recommend it to everyone.

First time we went to this place it was not a very pleasant visit because we were never acknowledged when we entered. However, my cousin and I decided to give it a second chance. Man we were surprised to find out that the food is delicious. We were served by Michelle and she did an outstanding job. She also suggested the best plates from the menu. We are definitely going back to this place.

Update....we decided to try Big Daddy's again and it was a COMPLETE turn around.
Taylor our server was AMAZING WONDERFUL AND OUTSTANDING.
Also they have the old hush puppies back which is a plus.
Thank you for the great service and wonderful food will definitely be back.

Gave a 1 star cause that is the lowest one that is available....
Things really changed since I was there last time. My husband and I really wanted Big Daddy's Thursday night, went in a group of maybe 10 ahead of us (which were seated maybe 10 minutes after we arrived) along with 2 other couples, one couple left angry after about 15 minutes of the larger party being seated, with all us remaining in line waiting to be seated we just being told "be right with y'all" SEVERAL times, after about 30 minutes (of the first couple
leaving) the lady in front of us stopped a girl and asked how much longer, we were all told "at least 10 minutes to be seated AND than at least another 45 minutes to get drinks and or order even taken". So therefore we all talked (not very happily) and someone stated "geez that meant probably at least another 45 minutes to an hour to even get our food and than another 30 to check out", because the whole time we were waiting to be seated there were at least 3 people waiting to check out.(unless you were with doordash and they were taken care of extremely fast which I do not agree with) my husband and I left along with the couple ahead of us and at least 3 other parties left.
I really hope things change with Big Daddy's soon.
Miss the old Big Daddy's that seemed to be happy and really took care of their customers that actually came to dine in.
Would like to give Big Daddy's another try and update this review, but not sure if and or when due to this experience

We had such an amazing experience! My husband and I needed to pick up some food for some amazing people. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Our order was:
Fried Catfish
Charbroiled chicken
Chicken strips
Beans & Green beans,
Mac&Cheese and Coleslaw,
Homemade banana pudding
Apple cobbler
Sweet/unsweetened tea
Lemonade
They surpassed all expectations by Throwing in all paper goods for 30 people and offering ice! Even carried it out to my car! Amazing! Thank you Big Daddy’s!

Had the char broiled fish filet, the fish was so flakey and moist and the seasoning was perfect and delisous.

We have gone there several times over the years. Never an unpleasant experience. The service and food is great. Staff always friendly

Great catfish, fresh great ratio of fish to breading, the mac-n-cheese was good, I like their tarter sauce.
The wait staff kept up with my tea very well. A warm meal on a cold evening is always well remembered. This one gets points for food, hospitality and just a good experience.
Side note: the tables are covered in some indestructible epoxy compound with adds for local businesses and organizations. I'd love to do a little shopping and find out how many places have an ad the has outlasted the business.
Anyway, I enjoyed my meal and my time here.

Absolutely love this place. Our waitress, Jess, was awesome. She made the visit really fun and made us laugh. She also did her job extremely well. The food was amazing and the dessert delicious. 10/10 would recommend and we will keep going back.

Big Daddy's is a great restaurant for southern style comfort food for lunch or dinner. I have been here many times and I am never disappointed. The food service can be a little bit slow sometimes but the food is worth it in my opinion. I recommend any of their chicken dishes.

The decor is one of my favorite things about this restaurant, as the walls are completely decorated by old southern or Texas style memorabilia like cowboy hats or metal advertising signs and many other things. I always like to come here when I'm in Odessa.
