Dr. Stewart listens to every word and is literally the best doctor I’ve had. I went through a lot of doctors looking for one that I knew was alert and listened and understood everything I told him. He spends enough time with me to make sure there are no more issues to be addressed. He deserves more than 5 stars.

Doc Stewart is absolutely the best Doctor that I have ever had. I wish I could have taken him with me when I moved to Canada. But seriously, I had the very good fortune to have him for nearly 20 years. Whenever I return to Texas this year, I hope he will have room for me to be his patient again.

He was my primary care physician from 1999 to 2014 and he was the best, caring Doctor I had ever had. I moved from the Austin area when I retired; but he rates those 5 stars.

This doctor is absolutely amazing, but you cannot get through to his office (you're fed into a main bsw health line) the billing department does not communicate with the office, you're forced to communicate through the portal, and I have literally been going in circles for months. This was my first visit with Dr. Stewart, and I scheduled it as an annual well visit. There was absolutely nothing wrong with me. In all my years of moves and new doctors, my annual well visits have always been covered by insurance. I received a bill showing this visit was not covered. The billing dept said since the doctor asked me questions about my medical history, it was coded as a consultation. I guess if you go see this doctor for your annual well check, you've never seen him before, and you want your insurance to cover it, make sure he does not ask any questions about your health history.

I did a lot of research to find a new primary care physician, as I haven't had one in a long time. It would be a two month wait, but that seemed typical in this area, so I eventually scheduled a new patient appointment on November 30th through this practice's website. Dr. Stewart seemed like the best option based on reviews, my insurance, new patient availability, etc.

Almost two months later and coming up on my appointment, I received a call from his office stating he only sees one new patient per week (I booked the appointment as a new patient, which it makes you select when scheduling if you're not an established patient). I would now need to be pushed out three more months to April since he already had another new patient appointment that week. This is after waiting two months during which I could have already found another option.

So now I'm left either waiting another quarter of a year for an appointment I've already spent two months waiting for, all based on their mistake, or having to find another doctor. Considering how busy everyone is in this area, another option will likely mean waiting a couple more months minimum for them, as well. No exception was offered since it was their mistake, and not even a, "We'll put you on the notification list in case of any cancellations."

For all I know, Dr. Stewart may be the best doctor in the area, but this type of incompetency - whether from the doctor or the doctor's office staff - is something I won't deal with. How do I know my next appointment is being entered properly and I won't receive the same call after waiting a few more months? I've been alive long enough to know that you're not just selecting a doctor, you're selecting a business and team, so you have to base your decision on the experience and practice as a whole (doctor, nurses, billing, administration, etc.). Unfortunately in this case, it was a bad experience before I even arrived at my first appointment.

I called to ask if he accepts new patients. His assistant or whatever representative said Yes. Then asked me all the information (insurance, emergency contact…), which took me forever. Then they told me the doctor has no available appointment and he doesn’t accept new patients. No apology for wasting my time or whatsoever. He has enough business and doesn’t want any more. Don’t bother to call.
