Amedysis met my husband and me when he came home from Vanderbilt Critical Care Unit to die. They covered so many questions before they left, and gave me supplies, arranged for oxygen, and set up a time to come back. I did not have to make any trips to the pharmacy to pick up meds. When my husband died, the nurse came very quickly. Their psychological support was comforting. For 1 year afterward I received supportive pamphlets to lift my spirits. These thoughtful people made this experience much easier for me.

Amedisys Hospice of Florence Al took excellent care of my mom in her last weeks of life. Whenever we had a question or concern, the nurse did a prompt callback when we called the service. No matter the time of night if we felt we needed a nurse's help, one would show up.
We never felt rushed in a visit and the nurse never failed to ask if we had any questions or concerns we wanted her to address. Whenever taking care of my mom whether it was taking blood pressure, helping clean her, whatever the situation, the nurses always addressed mom and told her what they were doing. It was one of the most respectful actions I have witnessed and we followed their example when approaching mom to administer medicine, take her temp, wash her face, etc. What a wonderful way to lead by example.
The bath aide was gentle caring and allowed us to help and showed us the best way to move mom and make her comfortable.
All of the staff was respectful and caring. What was a stressful time was made easier by the caring staff, the taking care of ordering any meds and supplies, to offering spiritual help and for handling the calls when our sweet mom passed.
A special thank you to nurses Caroline Dolan and Heather Hill. You have that special and calming touch needed when a family is heartbroken.
To Tish who took great care when seeing moms bathing and clean linens.
Thank you for treating our family like your family..
Sincerely,
R. Jones

My mom needed home health after leaving rehab at Keller Landing. She had an awesome team especially her nurse Hayley. She quickly noticed my mom's mild symptoms & identified them as COVID. She acted quickly & called her dr & ambulance. My mom & I both were vaccinated but tested positive. Her fast acting literally saved our lives. She even continued to check on my mom during her entire hospital stay. We ate thankful!

We are using this service again & I'm not sure what has changed but it'd definitely not the same experience. We're on nurse #3 in just a weeks time & my mom has dementia. When I inquired about my mom's meds or had questions I was told I had caregivers syndrome, that the focus was only on my mom's wounds & that she had other patients so she couldn't just focusing on my mom. I am so shocked as I have highly recommend this company & had such a great experience before. The therapist & bath aid have been awesome, kind & thorough but the nurse seems to be detached & it's extremely hurtful.

My husband's grandfather is dying from CHF and dementia. This is the company his COP decided to recommend for hospice care. They did not go over any lifting, rolling, kinesiological movements to prevent the patient or caregiver injuries. They also didn't reach anyone anything about the proper way for someone to remove a pair of dirty gloves without touching the outside of the gloves. Luckily I worked as a CNA/PCT twenty years ago and was able to show everyone else proper lifting and moving techniques. We have never honestly been taught much of anything at all. EVWRYTHING HAS BEEN A FIGURE IT OUT AS YOU ARE IN THE MOMENT SITUATION. The bath ladies who come 3x's per week are wonderful but in the past 2.5 years we have had a complete nursing staff change probably once every 3 months. They started out coming 2x's per week and have decreased the visits to once per week even though his health is and had been declining exponentially. Overall, I don't know if I would recommend them honestly. I guess, if you have a medical background already then you probably won't have a huge problem but if you are someone who does not and are about experience someone who needs semi skilled nursing care then you might want to check around with other agencies in the area....

I had an AWFUL experience with this company and if I ever need home health I will never use them! I was discharged from the hospital on 1/19 and the first nurse was scheduled to come to me at 10a on 1/20 to administer my antibiotic infusion and teach me how to do it myself. I was told things would be taken care of and this company would call me to confirm.

I had to call them twice to confirm since I had not heard from them. Spoke to a rude case manager named Tina who said "don't worry a nurse will come Sunday". Sure enough come Sunday close to 10:30 a nurse never showed up. Had to call these people twice and finally close to 12p I get a call from a nurse Bonnie who said no one told her or anyone to come to my house. When Bonnie arrived she went on this rant about a Dustin allegedly not telling Tina a time to show up, the infusion company not calling them, and how they filed a complaint. Lol the infusion company faxed over the orders that had the date and time a nurse is supposed to come. So that was a lie.

They hadn't even scheduled a nurse to come to me but lying Tina told me different the day before. So finally Bonnie shows up close to 1p long after I'm supposed to have my infusion. I ended up calling Rebecca H in Birmingham and told her about the situation and wanted to make sure another nurse was coming Sunday. The Sunday nurse clearly wasn't scheduled to see me either and was basically in a rush the whole visit and rushed off.

The next and last nurse that came was awful dramatic Dianne Ressler. Everything was fine until the last day when she had to come pull my picc line. This awful woman got mad because I recorded the picc line being removed. Mind you I didn't record the nurse or take a pic of the nurse only MY ARM as I filmed myself that morning administering my infusion. So this woman proceeds to call her supervisor and tell her and whomever she spoke to told me to delete the video.

I told them no and they said I needed the nurse's permission to snap a pic of my arm and record work being done on my arm. I laughed and said no I don't especially when I'm in MY home. I said I only need her consent if I'm recording her face. So the supervisor said their lawyer would contact me and I laughed and said I don't care have them contact me. I had to tell the nurse twice to leave my home because she refused and only left when her manager told her to lol.

They didn't even fax over the orders my doctor's office faxed to them so I could have a urinalysis. Dianne specifically told me before she left her supervisor would fax them to labcorp as I told them to. Went to labcorp today only to find out they didn't. I called today and spoke to some "executive director" and she blamed the infusion company. The same way they blamed the infusion company because they couldn't take responsibility for not scheduling a nurse to come to me.

Neither Bonnie nor Dianne ever ordered the supplies they were supposed to and claimed they were going to. I had to do it once I realized the supplies never showed up. They are rude, unprofessional, and incompetent.

Be careful with this company. A nurse here filled a false police report against child abuse. She could easily make a false police report about a patients family member who wasn’t happy with the way things were done with the patient, and could easily report it as “elder abuse”. I wouldn’t trust this company with their staff.

Be very aware of false allegations that may be made against you especially if you work inside someone’s home. Be careful of trusting people. People lie. False allegations and rumors can ruin your life. Always keep your messages and keep your read receipts turned on. Always know that cameras can be placed through out homes and know they can be used to match timing of messages when you try to contact the parents of a crying baby- a baby that never screams and cries-for over an hour. False allegations are hurtful and harmful. Pray for those that make those allegations while praying for yourself and your sanity. Pray for the person that continues to spread rumors and lies. Pray that this person doesn’t lie and make false allegations against her patients and their families that have trusted her with their home health needs.

Unprofessional, rude, condescending, and just plain ignorant to the clients needs. Needs to use covid and universal precautions.
Use gloves when handling medicine.
Needs to recognize personal space of the person and her home as well as her belongings.
Needs to be more honest when they tell you they care for you 24/7 .
Needs to treat us as human beings instead of a number.
Needs to keep appointments with a caring, non-pregidicial social worker and not wait for months for the assistance.
