Radical Rods

I had two big box repair shops try to diagnose and fix my car and fail miserably. Tim at Radical Rods did his research to properly diagnose and fix my car. He did top notch work and my car drives great!! Thanks Tim!!

This place is an awesome car repair shop. Tim, the owner, specializes in classic car restorations, but is available for general and in-depth repairs, maintenance, body work, painting, and just about any other service you would need for any year or make of car or truck.

This is a hometown shop, and he has a stream of vehicles in and out weekly, so if you are considering having him repair or maintain your vehicle, expect to leave if there for a day or so. In my experience, he has never kept my cars over 3 days for repairs or maintenance. I would assume a restoration takes longer.

He is always fair with labor and prices, and the work is expertly done. If you are looking for a local auto mechanic, Tim is your guy.

Tim did the work as needed, and I am very satisfied. This work was on my baby 1965 corvette!!

Buyer Beware!!!! Do not TRUST Tim's Radical Rod in Columbia, IL. They are one step below a shade tree mechanic. Restoring my 72 GMC truck and starting with the wiring and brakes. Was told job would take 2 weeks and 1 1/2 months later I was able to pick up and my truck. I cancelled the brake job and was told I would be refunded the cost of the brakes. I was shorted $400 on the refund due to "hidden costs" he magically created. Due to his wiring job, the headlights no longer work properly, there are issues with the motor and now the glove box is free floating and not attached. He claims he is a perfectionist but he left remnants of the old wiring, used after market parts, left parts dangling and created issues that did not previously exist. I would not recommend Radical Rod's to even put a chain on a bicycle!!!
