Maple Lake East - Mountain Bike Staging Area

So, the trails here are quite nice. Lots of marked and unmarked ones for all kinds of taste. If you like an easy flowing ride choose the blue and green trails. For more advanced riders I suggest black and blue. Nothing super hard or extreme but still a nice ride and challenge every time i come here. If you ride all the marked trails it get you about 15 miles of riding. The only complaint here is it’s multidirectional and if you’re really flying you might run into another rider coming your way. Be careful and have fun.

Beautiful spot to check out another view of Maple Lake. Tough to hike around the north side of lake during spring and summer when all the greenery is bountiful, but there is other cool hikes just be cautious because there are mountain bike trails and they can be moving fast. Please don't litter and maybe even pick up someone else's 😊

They have made so many improvements over the years. My husband loved the short walk to the outside tables. Beautiful new building and table area. Very peaceful, come on out and see all the improvements for yourself.

Just be careful when entering the porta-potty since you might be met with mighty unpleasant gibberish and threats.

My home mountain bike trails. These trails were built and are maintained by CAMBR, which is a group of volunteer local mountain bikers. Pretty much mecca for trail riding in the Chicago area. These are also excellent hiking and running trails.

Be sure and check out the new trail called Resurrection. Grand opening was Sunday, November 5. Great trail.

Palos is beautiful. We're fortunate to have Cambr keeping our MTB trails going strong!

The purple trail is one of the more challenging hiking paths in this area of the forest preserves, in particular when significant snowfall is present. Spectacular views of maple Lake.

Home away from home. Best spot for trail biking within a hundred miles of chicago. Access to 3 trailheads that lead to 28 miles of xc single track.

Very fun place for mountain biking with lots of parking. Plenty of trails that have rises and drops. If you come here be sure to start here, from there you can jump on as many trails as you’d like.

Awesome place for mountain biking. They have a starter trail around the cemetery and a bigger one across from it that rounds several miles. Totally awesome.

So many bugs today, but we always have fun here. Picnicking and fishing today 😁 caught bluegill, sunfish, and crappie

This is the main hub for access to the Palos Forest Preserves' singletrack trails - built and maintained by Chicago Area Mountain Bikers in cooperation with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.

Excellent mountain biking area. Trail system well marked. I don't know how to really rank the technicality, but it seemed that one could take the trails full bore and it would be pretty challenging. But, you could also take the trails slower and it's still enjoyable. I had to put my feet down just enough to make me want to go back and get better!

Some of the best trails in the entire Chicagoland area. Gets pretty busy on the weekends, but there are some lesser known trails where you might not see anyone while other parking lots are packed. Trails are maintained very well. If some trails were made one way only that would certainly help with the congestion, but even as it is now it's a great place to bike or walk.

Great location for some single-track mountain biking! I've only done a couple loops, but I do love this location! A nice challenge for a noob like myself to get my biking legs in shape and get used to popping up over roots and whipping around corners quickly! Everyone here is polite and more than happy to let you pass or wait for you to move to the side so they can blast through

First time mtb on snow. This is great park in the area. Could be a little overcrowded during warmer days but still best around.

Trails are great me and my wife love hiking om them. Also well marked and alot of mountain bike trailes. Good times for families.
