Bureau of Motor Vehicles

We went to the Scarborough BMV. For what we had to do, we saw 2 different people, as of which were both great individuals. We had many questions that they both explained in great detail. The greatest part was that they used what I call "layman's terms"
The whole reason I am giving this particular bureau of motor vehicles A 5 star is because one of the people we dealt with was not 100% sure on how to proceed, so he stated, " I apologize. I do not know the correct procedure to follow. So I'm gonna get someone who does. Please bear with me!" I love it when a human reassuresthe fact that they don't know everything, especially when dealing with some form or branch of a governmental agency.

Arrived 330pm on a Tuesday, 5 agents on duty helping people, 1 person in front of us, got called up in about 5 minutes, a new record! Awesome agent at desk 1 helped my friend with all his needs, she was truly great! 5 stars for the lady with short hair and glasses, you rock!

It's the BMV, it will always have long lines and aggravated customers with no patience. At least the staff have always been good and place is clean.

So efficient! I had an appointment for 10:15; arrived at 10:05 and texted “check in” as instructed at 10:10. It was a matter of a few seconds before I was called to window and was able to complete my business (license renewal to include getting RealID and required vision test) by 10:20. Extraordinary :-)

Did I have to wait? Yes. But I've always had to wait at every DMV I've ever been to. The difference was that at other DMV, the employee that would handle my request looked like they did not want to be here at all, were rude and just unpleasant.... In the Scarborough DMV, the person that helped me was extremely nice, polite and efficient. She went out of her way to answer my questions.

I recently had to visit the BMV in Scarborough two separate times and I had a very surprising experience both times. First time I had a very helpful lady named Lisa who walked me through the process to get my license issue resolved and her pleasant attitude was not what I'm used to as I come from a state where the DMV is usually very frustrating.... the second visit was to finish up my license issue and Carol was just as pleasant and extremely helpful as well.... thank you both for making the BMV visit one that I walked away from in a good shape and happy to tell people about

People were very pleasant and helpful.

If we are still social distancing, be sure to bring a coat and comfortable shoes - the building can accommodate approximately 15 people socially distanced inside, so you may have to wait in line outside the building. Wait times are a bit longer than normal due to cleaning, but nothing unreasonable given the circumstances.

Faster than expected. Limited entry due to covid precautions keeps times reduced. Helpful, they were able to save me from paying $90 for my license down to $5 by noticing I could have a renewal instead of a new license for an out of state transfer since I had previously had a Maine license within the last 6 years.

Went there 8am Mon. Their computers were being cranky, but the employees were dealing well and giving great service to customers. They were pleasant, efficient and I was done in 20 minutes. Great job!

Long line,about a 3hour wait to get inside, once inside you witness the employees working as fast as possible. Just way too many customers. With Kennebunk and Sanford closed the work load on these people is over the top. Under the stress of an extreme work load they continue to perform professionally. A JOB WELL DONE. THANK YOU AND STAY SAFE.

Busy as expected and short staffed as all places are. It was nice being greeted with great hospitality by all the employees. The lady who helped me was very kind and has a wonderful attitude!! Thank you and keep smiling!!

I was really frazzled after moving the day before from out of state so I had trouble being able to locate my necessary paperwork. Sharon, at the Scarborough DMV was super patient with me. Actually, the staff were very pleasant and efficient as well as practicing good Covid clean up after each customer.

A very well organized and fair arrangement. As you walk in, get a number assigned to you, check the forms counter and fill it out while you wait to be called to one of the 5 windows. We have been treated well each time we've needed to come here.

The Scarborough location has very helpful, polite staff. They went above and beyond to sort out a mistake that the state of Wisconsin made on my previous license. Because of the willingness of the staff to help me, I won’t have to pay any extra money to correct a mistake that was beyond my control. I recommend this location as my experience utilizing their services has been great!

We had such a pleasant experience on a rainy Thursday afternoon. There were three ladies working who were very welcoming and helpful. We had two helping the three of us. Both soooo nice. The third woman helped another impatient quirky fellow with a smile. Friendly and helpful. I think all three just went out of their way to be kind and helpful. Definitely not something the DMV in our part of Massachusetts is known for. So happy to be living in Maine with such great people. Would recommend this office to Everyone we know.

I went in to renew my license here at 8:45 in the morning. As soon as I took a ticket my number was called. The lady that helped me was very nice and helpful. We talked about family and memories. I was in and out in a total of 8min.

Been in here multiple times for multiple reasons.... It's the DMV. Bring a book. Expect a line. Don't you people remember this before smart IDs? Or computers?

That being said.... All of the staff I dealt with were great. The bathrooms and overall facility was clean. I have been to more DMVs than I want to admit and this one isn't terrible.

If that changes, I will report.

I used to go to Kennebunk...meh. Friday we went to Scarborough to get my mom a state ID. The wait-10 minutes, record speed at any DMV. We were helped by Diana and she was awesome. So pleasant and helpful. We had a few questions and she took the time to answer them. She made sure we had everything we needed, was patient and did I say how nice she was? I always dread having to go to the DMV, but no more... Diana you rock!

No problem. Short wait. Customer service representative was very nice and efficient. Will always go to Scarborough Branch.
