McHenry Parks & Recreation Department

The McHenry Parks & Recreation Department offers so much for kids and adults. They also do a wonderful job at keeping our downtown clean and always looking beautiful! IM grateful for this wonderful add to our community!

Love the park district programs. There are usually a good variety of options. Lately some have been canceled from lack of sign ups, which is disappointing, but they are quick to refund my money and are always responsive when I have questions. Nicole, the coordinator does a great job with organizing new events and offering a variety of new classes. My kids absolutely LOVE dodgeball! These are not structured sports events so don't expect that, but they are fun and many are a cheaper way to introduce your kids to s new sport or event. Compared to woodstock they have a lot to offer!

We come here for dance class, community classes, and other activities. It's always clean and the staff is helpful. With COVID going on, they have a mask mandate and hand sanitizer available in the main lobby. The waiting area is clean, and they have removed a lot of the seating to allow for social distancing, should you need or choose to wait. I would love to join the gym here, but it is out of reach for us financially, as we are unincorporated residents and pay higher rates.

It's a really nice place with a friendly staff. New equipment with a good variety. This place will be even more awesome if/when they get a pool.

Body Toning Yoga with Maureen is a great way to start a Saturday.

The summer Day Came Is Awful All The Kids do is Sit Under a canopy and get bit by mosquitoes and the staff is ok. But Still Its SO BORING.

Softball league is a joke. Fields flood and the people in charge cancel games and don't notify teams. Joke.
