Sooooo amazing. 5 of us for dinner, Dan was our waiter and he was just fabulous. Lots of great suggestions and very attentive despite being very busy. The food is absolutely fantastic with nothing falling short of the mark. Drinks were great, sushi wonderful, as was the miso cod. Will definitely be back. Great manager here too who kept everyone happy.

The service, fod, and even presentation were exceptional. Some of the best thai curry we've had, even including local thai restaurants. The sushi was really fresh. Interesting take on the chicken wings, which were great, but the chicken was a little thin. The Naan was also great, even though it was a little thick. Great atmosphere and music also. All in all, some of the best all-around Asian food in the area and we couldn't ask for better service.

Small and intimate spot that offers exceptional service (thank you Tiffany), a great vibe and some of the best Sushi I have had in years. We had Chef Dan Special and Seared Salmon which also holds tuna and yummy goodies that were a flavor experience. Waits can be long at peak time so don't be shy about grabbing a spot in the bar/lounge as service is very attentive and comfortable setting. So happy a local friend recommended!

"Red Ginger" undoubtedly sits atop our list of favored dining establishments. Its atmosphere exudes elegance, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience complemented by impeccable service. Don't miss the chance to indulge in their delightful Thai curry and the calamari appetizer—both dishes have undeniably earned their place as must-tries every time we visit.

This is the third time we've tried to eat here. I made a reservation online for a birthday girl. The table was ready at the time requested. The service was very professional, and the menu options are broad. We really enjoyed the pacing of the meal, you can enjoy conversation and drinks. This isn't to say it was slow, we ordered and the food came fairly quickly, just that they staggered the orders as we ate. Everything was very flavorful with our only possible issue being that our yuzu roll fell apart everytime. Would strongly recommend the Chinese ribs and the ginger tuna roll.

Red Ginger 2.18.23

If you're looking for a restaurant that's sure to impress on any special occasion, look no further than Red Ginger in Traverse City, Michigan. My husband and I recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and were blown away by the service and attention to detail.

From the moment we walked in, the staff at Red Ginger made us feel welcome and appreciated. Our server, Maureen, was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the perfect drink to start off the night: the Espresso Martini. It was a delicious blend of coffee and liquor that really woke up our taste buds. We chatted with Maureen about how she landed in Traverse City and the local atmosphere.

For our appetizer, we went with the beef ishiyaki, which was a great choice. It wasn’t specifically on the menu, but it was an unforgettable special item. The beef was brought uncooked and we cooked it at the table on a stone slab that was heated on the fire. We also appreciated the portion size - it was just enough to whet our appetites without leaving us feeling too full for our entrees.

Speaking of entrees, there were so many great options on the menu that it was hard to choose. Ultimately, I went with the Cognac marinated Faroe Island salmon, miso brown rice, wok tossed brussels sprouts, carrots, red onion, and scallions, while my husband ordered the mandarin orange chicken. Both dishes were fantastic - the flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.

But what really made our night special was the surprise anniversary card we were greeted with and chocolate truffles that the staff brought out for us at the end of our meal. It was a small gesture, but it really showed that they cared about making our night memorable.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Red Ginger and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic night out in Traverse City. The service, food, and ambiance are all top-notch, and the little touches like the anniversary surprise really set it apart from other restaurants in the area.

Excellent dinner. My husband made a reservation on Tuesday for Thursday dinner at 745pm for my birthday. The reservation asked for an occasion and he input my birthday. We arrived and we seated right away to a birthday card signed by all the staff and chefs. I ordered Lobster Fried Rice and a Glass of wine. He ordered 2 kinds of sushi and a cocktail. We both ordered dessert. They gave us 2 complimentary truffles as a birthday treat with a candle. The atmosphere was lovely and great, though it was a little louder than I expected (which is fine, people were having a great time).

The bathrooms were nice and clean, down 2 floors but looked like there was an elevator too. There is also a coat check.

10/10 with rice, would recommend.

This is a great spot for dinner. Tried their grilled Indian flatbread (super yummy) and their orange chicken. Although the chicken was a bit expensive they did serve a big portion so I wasn’t bothered by it. The flavors were really good and I would return when back in the area.

A great restaurant in TC. Highly recommend for a nice meal in town. Staff was friendly, and included a card signed by everyone for our anniversary. Food was well prepared, though I personally could have used some additional spice in my dishes, but I have a higher preference than most…so I understand it’s not the typical Midwest palate. 🙃

This is our favorite restaurant in town. The Sea Bass, Ribs, and sushi are all to die for. RG also makes some of the best drinks, but they are a bit pricey.

Spectacular food and service! Ask for Randy. He made our evening so enjoyable. Sake flight, tuna wasabi roll and lobster dynamite roll, miso soup, sea bass, and duck, followed by mango coconut rice pudding.

I really enjoyed the sea bass entree. They do have a dress code and its posted at the door that you need to dress business casual. Very pricey, but my fish was cooked perfectly and our waiter Randy was amazing. The hostess just stared at us as we walked in instead of welcoming us, but we had a great time after being seated.

We go on every special occasion! The Dynamite Roll is so amazing! My birthday about 3 years ago there was some kind of peanut butter chocolate tort that was that was just too awesome. Wish they would bring it back. The servers are very attentive. Sometimes we get sub par service because they think we are “Young” but over all I would still give this place 5 stars.

Annual birthday dinner at Red Ginger did not disappoint. The food was delicious. We had Vietnamese Spring Rolls and I had 2 kinds of sushi-Spicy ahi roll and a house specialty which featured Hamachi and fresh jalapeños amongst other goodies. For the less adventuresome my husband had a very nice Japanese steak accompanied by wok seared vegetables. Our waitress, Sarah. Was awesome! She was attentive, well versed on all of the menu offerings and able to make great recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant
