Called today and found the staff at DIFS to be very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. They listened, understood what I was asking, and provided answers. Thank you!

I rarely have a positive experience with government agencies. I have to say that everyone that I have worked with at the DIFS break the mold. They are extremely responsive, courteous and efficient. I have to specifically applaud Lori Thelen. I have worked with her on at least 6 different occasions and she is a true asset to the department and most recently helped me correct a clerical mistake on my side quickly and efficiently. Thank you

I've had very good results with using DIFS to investigate my insurance issue. I'm making another claim as insurance rates climb every year; we're all frustrated, so I suggest making claims and having these companies investigated. Report unfair and illegal issues with your health or vehicle insurance. I use electronic filing of my claims; I see one person posted no one picks up the phone.

They only strictly handle issues
With insurance agents and companies that deal with insurance. I have had no problem communicating with them ,it takes them time to investigate each and every insurance company, It's not a overnight fix . Please give them more credit , more positive feedback. I'm sure they want to save the auto no fault system as well.🇺🇸

I took a test 3 days ago and I still have not got my exam result yet, I called customer service but still got ignored. And the most ridiculous thing is their psychopathy exam quizzes, you’ll fail it no matter how hard you study it, Obviously MI state exam makers are enjoying to see people get failed again and again.

Apparently health insurance reviews are sent to third parties, but it is inexcusable that the supposedly neutral third party who reviewed my case agreed with the insurance company they did not need to cover my medical bill for such stupid reasons as 1) I didn't call the regular pediatrician first. At 9 pm on a Saturday when OBVIOUSLY the regular doctor AND urgent care are CLOSED and 2) My kid laughed while in the ER, so she was clearly fine and a "reasonable" person would not have sought medical care. The treating physician initially thought my kid has MEASLES. So the third party is telling me I did not need to seek treatment or a diagnosis potentially for MEASLES if my child looked "too happy" while having measles. Having this child walk around undiagnosed near unvaccinated babies would have been the correct and "reasonable" thing for me to do, so my ER bill is not covered. Thank you for making parents everywhere choose to delay medical care for their children because they have to live in fear they will be stuck with the bill if the insurance company decides on a whim they didn't "really" need to see a doctor. This is unethical and dangerous and shouldn't be allowed.

My credit union made two egregious mistakes to my account, knew about the mistakes, and didn't inform me. This also happened to other account holders - again NO ONE was contacted.
I contacted DIFS thinking at least they could help me deal with the credit union and the financial havoc they unleashed on me through their mistake.
What a letdown.
Instead DIFS was looking for ways to blame me, and was afraid to confront the credit union in any way. They didn't even ask the credit union any pertinent questions about the situation. In contrast, I provided a very detailed description including attachments as proof.
As many others have said in these reviews, it was simply a waste of time. They're not looking to correct wrongs, they're looking to close your case with the minimum amount of effort.

Should be awarded 1st place for wasting people's time. Didn't listen to a single point I made as to why I didn't want coverage and just kept trying to push a sale. Thomas Barber would be great working in a used car lot.

DIFS was personally a complete waste of the my time. They are not interested in any form of justice when it comes to my case and they did not even mediate. It seems that DIFS has already concluded my case and wasted my time by acting as if they are officially looking into it. After dealing with DIFS, I realize that it is a completed waste of time and tax payers money. No use having a regulatory power that is simply a rubber-stamp to the insurance companies.

It is utterly sad that it takes 6 weeks to process a life license! This dept just put people's lives on hold and all for what? It is aggravating and a total disservice to business professionals.

I submitted over 20 pages of evidence on the failures and broken contracts with my insurance company......DIFS failed. Didnt even look at my paperwork. I called, got the run around, asked for how the decision was made and was told "we cant tell you that".....so much for transparency here in MI. I cited FOIA in support of the info I was legally requesting....and then came the phone transfers and referrals....all with zero answers. Finally, was told by the boss to contact the state board/licensing....I did that 6 times already...then told call the Governor...did that already 3 times.....then told "there is no recourse". Long story longer? People working for the state with 0 qualifications make decisions on your life...and you cannot ask questions or fight it. You have to go to court. Fat chance on finding a lawyer to take a case in which they will make no money! Good luck guys! Citizens are not protected in MI. Insurance companies win.....even when there is overwhelming proof of broken contracts and law.
