Christine's Alterations

Christine was wonderful to work with with my wedding dress and she was easy to communicate with. She did a great job making sure the hem length was perfect to walk in with my shoes, and that the shoulder strap length was comfortable. I had no idea what kind of bustle I wanted so she showed me all of the options. There was a last minute alteration I noticed 1 week before I was leaving for my wedding and I called her in a panic, she was able to squeeze me in and fixed the issue while I sat and waited. I appreciated her kindness and would work with her again in a heartbeat! I got married in NY which added another level of complication but Christine was happy to explain and videotape how to bustle my dress to show to my bridesmaids for the wedding.

I had the most amazing experience with Christine!!! She was so helpful and informative throughout the entire process. I had a tricky train that needed to be adjusted, and Christine talked me through the entire process and gave me the best idea of how it was going to look before going through with it. When I saw the adjustments she made I was blown away. I couldn't believe the care she gave to my dress and how she was able to work with the delicate details the dress had to make it fit me perfect and keep the dress's original design. I also had a vision for the bustle I wanted, and the dress wasn't exactly made to bustle in the way I hoped, but Christine was able to work her magic and bring my vision to life! I am absolutely amazed with the work she does and will definitely be back for her to do bridesmaids and my other dresses in the future :) if you are looking for someone to alter your wedding dress, look no further!! Christine is the best person for the job!!

I've had an amazing experience with Christine! She is very kind, flexible with scheduling, and open to all sorts of ideas! My dress was shortened to fit my height, sparkly straps were added, a French bustle added, and other little details that Christine did not overlook! I’ve used Christine for my alterations on 2 bridesmaid dress and my wedding gown! The dress is so intricate and she even tightened one of the mesh lacy shoulders which I was so impressed with! Christine did an amazing job altering my all lace, long-sleeved wedding dress. My dress was way too big in the bust, but Christine worked her magic and brought in the dress so it fit perfectly on my wedding day. I also had a long train, and Christine made a bustle that didn’t fall off while I danced the night away. She was patient with me at alterations appointments when I was unsure what I wanted, and she showed my sister how to do the bustle for the day of. Christine is so easy and nice to work with, I would recommend her to any bride!

Christine worked absolute wonders on my wedding dress! There is appliqué over the entire dress and Christine was able to alter the waist and bust by several sizes without removing the appliqué. Her stitching is beautiful and precise, you cannot tell that the dress was substantially altered. Christine also hemmed the dress perfectly and maintained the beautiful edging on the bottom of the dress. Several guests at my wedding asked whether I had the dress created for me because it fit so well. I recommend Christine to all brides, especially those with less than traditional dresses! Christine was an absolute joy to work with and her prices are extremely reasonable!

I can't say enough good things about Christine! She was so nice to work with and so helpful from the beginning. My wedding dress didn't quite fit the way I wanted it to after the first round of alterations, and she insisted I come back a second and even a third time to make sure it was absolutely perfect. During one of my appointments, she even had me try it on, took it in right while I was there, and had me put it on again. She is kind, caring, and beyond knowledgeable. Wedding alterations aren't cheap but I found her to be reasonable especially for the amount of work she did on my dress. Thank you, Christine!!!

Christine has done two bridesmaid dresses and now my wedding gown for me. She has a quick turnaround with bridesmaid dresses and is very knowledgeable and skilled. She gave great recommendations for someone to make a veil for me, and to get my gown pressed/preserved. She did such a great job with all of the dresses she altered for me!

Christine is incredible!

I was looking for a seamstress that could hem my bridesmaid dress before my sister's wedding in September 2021. I contacted her back in May 2021 to see if I could schedule an appointment with her to hem my dress. I was able schedule and see her in July 2021.

The bridesmaid dress that I purchased is not the typical bridesmaid dress. It's fancy and had four layers of fabric underneath, so she had to hem all of those layers too. Christine was very detailed about how she would hem my dress and also provided multiple choices of how to fix the hem line on my dress. She even added the back tail string wrist holder, so when I'm not taking pictures, I can have that wrist band to easily walk to places and feel comfortable with the dress tail up. She finished my dress in the beginning of August 2021 before my sister's wedding.

The photos that I included in this review are the "Before" pictures. You can see Christine's sewing pins that shows how she would hem the dress. The results of the finished hem line was gorgeous. I was able to walk in this dress with my wedges with no problems. I would highly recommend Christine's Alterations for alterations.

Keep in mind to always schedule at least 4-6 months before prior to the wedding if you have multiple areas that needs to be altered. This is to make sure that the seamstress has time to alter your dress. I only need one area to be altered and that was just the hemline.

I got my wedding dress altered by Christine and I’m so happy that I did! Christine was great to work with: she shortened my straps, added bra cups, shortened the dress, and added a bustle. She was responsive and upfront in what the cost would be throughout the process. I felt like she really listened to what my day-of needs would be and didn’t try to pressure me to make alterations that I wasn’t happy with. As an example I’m an avid folk dancer and knew that I would need the flexibility to be able to dance without worrying about my dress ripping or being uncomfortable. When she did the bustle, she made sure to make two loops for each button to go through, in case one of them ripped. That extra security really helped me to be confident on the dance floor. The whole wedding day, everyone was commenting on how well the dress fit me.
I was so happy with the job she did on my wedding dress, I ended up taking an old bridesmaid dress to her to make it more wearable for events (moved the straps and shortened it). I recently wore the old bridesmaid dress to another wedding and got so many compliments on it. I would recommend Christine to anyone who is looking to get alterations done!

Christine's Alterations is one of the best places to get alterations done. I called her wanting to get my wedding dress altered for my August wedding and she was highly responsive, kind, and upfront about costs and time. Christine walked me though everything she was going to change on the dress, why, and what it would look like after. She even added a bustle to keep the dress's train from trailing on the ground. She finished the alterations quickly and the dress was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend her services for any alterations you would like done.

Christine altered my wedding dress in the fall of 2018. I loved my experience working with her. She made me feel comfortable and confident during my fittings. I had some length taken off, the dress taken in, and a simple bustle added. I was very happy with the outcome, the dress fit perfectly, and the bustle worked great and was so easy to use. Her price was fair, and I felt so happy with my experience I referred my sister (who was 8 months pregnant and in need of major alterations) to her for her bridesmaid’s dress. She also loved her experience.

This review is late because I forgot to write one, my wedding was in September of last year. Getting alterations done was pleasant. She did a great job and was kind. I had an embarrassing moment where I had never written a check before and she was patient with me and told me how to fill it out properly. I got a bustle and the hem shortened. Wonderful service.

Christine did a wonderful job altering this frothy, appliqué heavy dress for my wedding! I’m fairly short at only 5’1”, so she needed to significantly hem and shorten my straps and bring the bust cups down an inch. She also added a 3-point bustle for my reception and let me try on all sorts of bustle options before making it happen.

Many of the appliqués at the bottom edge of the top layer were unfortunately sewn in incredibly tightly with nearly invisible thread. A significant amount of appliqués needed to be moved or removed, due to my short height. Rather than risk tearing the delicate material by attempting to remove the appliqués and then re-stitch them to the top layer once the dress was hemmed, Christine suggested to cut the excess fabric and appliqués away in an aesthetically pleasing but functional manner. This was not a simple process— we actually dubbed it “dress surgery.” It turned out great! Plus I got to use the leftover lace appliqués to decorate my wedding shoes.

Christine was prompt at replying, upfront about costs, and made sure I was happy with my dress before turning it over to me. Thank you so much!

Christine did an amazing job with alterations on my wedding dress. Her knowledge and professionalism immediately put me at ease and she made sure to listen to my requests and feedback on how the dress was feeling. The end result was a dress that fit me to a T, with a perfect hem and bustle. I was in my dress from 1:00 pm to 2:00 am and it was so incredibly comfortable. I'm so happy I found Christine and would recommend her in a heartbeat!
