Greek Taverna - Montclair

We had my in-laws wedding anniversary lunch at Greek Taverna Montclair in December 2023. I highly recommend this place. The staff were amazing, delicious food, great ambiance, and hospitable staff especially Nick, Ana and Carlos. They all went above and beyond. We had kids and we had seniors in our party. It has its own parking lot and no steps, a plus for mobility issues!

What a surprise this was. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we knew that we were in for a fantastic time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The aromas from the kitchen were inviting. The server had a humorous and attentive quality. We had two appetizers for our dinner along with the delicious warm seasoned pita they served. The cold grilled eggplant had a creaminess to it and went well with the warm pita. We chose this seafood appetizer that was like an entree enough for two people. It was cooked to perfection. Grilled shrimp, grilled calamari and grilled octopus all in a delicious oil based sauce. It was to die for. What an unbelievable dinner. We actually had room for dessert so we tried their fillo dough wrapped around some fresh melty cheese with sugar and cinnamon on top. Overall it was a fantastic meal and a top notch restaurant. Everything was perfect.

I had my sisters birthday celebration here with about 20 guests.. the food was delicious, the fixed menus were easy and not complicated.. our server Ana was a delight to work with, always bringing more drinks, ice, glasses, food etc. without asking twice, she even took photos of us when she wasn't busy serving..AMAZING SERVER!!!! We will definitely go back and have another event here.. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME AND FOOD WAS DELICIOUS 💖

This wonderful boite in Montclair has free parking adjoining the restaurant, which is very rare in Montclair. The food was good, the prices were remarkably reasonable and the service was great. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday afternoon.

Generous portions of fresh, absolutely delicious Greek food prepared with love and pride and served up with a warm and welcoming attitude in a comfortably spacious, ambient atmosphere. This was my first dining experience at this particular restaurant and I sincerely look forward to my next visit. My sister Gina, who has been here before, had the Grilled Shrimp Souvlaki (the shrimp was done perfectly and that rice is luscious) and I had the Gyro Platter which I thoroughly enjoyed aka every single morsel. To say that the tzatziki sauce was on point would be an understatement and the soft, warm pita bread is impeccable to the point of sublime. For dessert I ended up having the Bougatsa Tou Bardari and to be quite honest the straightforward but sumptuously matched combination of creamy, rich custard and buttery flaky phyllo dough was so damn good that I completely forgot to photograph it because I was way too preoccupied with scarfing it down, apparently, so there you go folks! Ordered lunch for take out and everything came out perfect. My order only took about 15min to make and it was 100% correct. The packaging was durable which is always appreciated. My Horiatiki salad with chicken was fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the gyro platter and thought it was very tasty as well. Will definitely eat here again!

Ordered the grilled seafood platter, grilled octopus, and a Greek salad. It was absolutely delicious with plenty of take home food afterward. The service was okay could have been better but the food was excellent.

One of the best Greek food around NY/N. Vanessa is adorable. The restaurant is really nice, beautiful and clean. The team is very profesional.

We just had our baby shower here and people can't stop ranting & raving about how smoothly it went! Food was great, service was top notch... special shout out to Greg & Amanda for going the extra mile to serve our guests! The owner customized the menu and our guests loved everything they ordered! I really went out on a limb and trusted a friend's suggestion to go here and I'm so happy we did!

Delicious food and a very pleasant waitress. The restaurants is following the CDC guidelines. There’s ample space inside and out and open till later compare to other restaurants in New Jersey that are closed by 8. The food is so fresh and delicious. There’s parking space.

Hands down one of the best Greek restaurants I've been to they also have a location in Edgewater. You must eat here trust me! I love the atmosphere the food and staff so friendly.

I am restaurant chair for a local organization. I recently arranged with Harry a dinner that served nearly 60 men in a Thursday evening. We had a sit down family style meal and also a speaker. It was a great evening the food was delicious plenty choices from pita with two different dips , falafel and a perfect Greek salad as well as than three entrees of chicken souvlaki , salmon And vegetarian mousakki. It was beautifully presented, service was spot on served with a smile and most graciously in a warm inviting room. To get that many men all to say job well done is rare Greek taverna hit the mark and highly recommend whether just you and significant other , family or friends gathering or as we had a large function .

Came here for mothers day. The salmon with lemon potatoes were perfectly cooked. Family member got a great rare stake. All other dishes we're fantastic. Service was very fast for such a busy period. Would definitely recommend.

Top notch service and excellent food. Traditional Greek menu and all of the food exceeded expectations. But the service made me feel like I was in one of the most expensive restaurants in NYC. Kudos to Anna and the entire staff. We will be back.

Wow! What a great meal!! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The dip sampler, fried calamari & gyro platter were all excellent. Big portions.And to top it off, on-site parking. Great authentic Greek restaurant.

The pastitsio and moussaka were sublime. Lamb chops perfection. Appetizers delicious. The baklava cheesecake was delicious!
