Gourmet Lunch

Gourmet Lunch is amazing! Please go in to the door on the left "Gourmet". Maria makes the best food, and it is fresh every day. The menu changes depending on what she has, so you can call ahead if you would like to know. She usually has meat, chicken, 3 types of rice, plantains, vegetables, beans, and sometimes shrimp. I'm sure the side selections may change during the seasons. The meat is so tender, and the chicken so flavorful. Maria and group are so sweet and genuine too. I am happy to support this business, and so is my heart and stomach.

There's actually two spots here both have great options! I love the pernil that Maria makes, unlike most options for this in the area she always adds greens to the plate, this makes for a great well rounded meal. The medium is perfect for one person. Sometimes when I don't feel like cooking I'll order a large around 3 to take it home. It easily servers two!

I love Maria's Gourmet! Her food is always on point and she has a lot of variety in lunch entree meats. Very humble and polite business owner. She makes you feel like you're at home. I definitely recommend this place!

I go to both of the side-by-side businesses here at least once weekly.

As a Dominican, I'm uniquely qualifed to say that Maria's cooking is phenomenal. These ladies treat you like family and it comes through in flavor! (This is the side under the "Gourmet" sign). There's always a spread of options, with more to choose from the earlier in the lunch hour you go.

The more classic American fare is on the right - the door under the "Lunch" side of the restaurant signage. Their menu is extensive, they're fast, affordable, and the food never disappoints.

This place is frequented by folks in Newark City Hall and the Municipal Court down the street.

I love this place, if you're looking for a tasty food in a wonderful atmosphere. This can be the best choice. It's small but worth it.

Gotta try the newark wrap. And their gyro is a belly buster💪, Comes with fries and only 7 bucks!! The service here is also really good and I will definitely be coming back on the regular. The mornings are really busy so make sure your ok with the wait. It's best of you call ahead of time and place your order

Delicious Dominican food. They are not shy about quantity and reasonable prices. Maria is an amazing chef. So far, best stew chicken and salmon. 😍😍

Maria cooks Hispanic cuisine delicious, even when it's such a small place. She cooks lunches for all workers in the area. Not a fancy restaurant but delicious and affordable Latin food...Arroz y Habichuelas...Arroz con Pollo...etc. Pork Ribs, excellent Salmon weekly and many other dishes.

Been living in the area for 6 years and honestly always just walked past this place thinking it's small they probably have nothing but boy was I wrong me and my husband wanted something different and decided to go in and ask for a menu and seen the food in the trays and could smell all the amazingness of the food lol and didn't even look at the menu and immediately decided to get a platter and I must say we been missing out the food was so good I ate half and ate the rest for lunch the next day and I'm not big on leftovers or reheating food but it was still as good as the day before if not better .. amazing keep it up ladies and the workers are very friendly and helpful
